When marginalized groups create spaces for themselves, it often stems from historical exclusion and discrimination they have experienced, and such community-building efforts should be respected rather than criticized as exclusionary.

W🤍 Pe0ple Are JEAL0US & CRITICIZE Naomi Osaka For Refusing To APOLOGIZE For Being B🖤 👉🏾Added:
How are you doing? Welcome to my channel. Hope you are great. Disclaimer, this video reflects my personal opinions and commentary. It is not intended to harass, harm or defame any individual.
Content is for discussions and educational people. So I am saying video of people trying to uh make Naomi Osaka look bad, right? Because she had all black dinner with her friends that are black and people were asking what is wrong with it. There is nothing wrong with the picture that I am seeing. She is black and decided to have what?
Dinner with people that look like her.
What is the problem with some people wanting to be in a space where they do not belong? She wanted it the way she wanted it and she did it the way she wanted. So what is the problem now?
Man, I don't understand the need for people to be in a space where they do not where they are not even supposed to be because as a maybe as a white player or something, you decided to have dinner with all your friends and that are white, which is okay. I do not have any problem with that.
Last I checked, you guys decided that you guys were going to sue black website where people that look like me can find doctor. knowing fully well the implications of uh black people going to the hospital the medical racism they experience and all that. You guys must really be seriously some people are high on something really cheap because tell me how people go around the only thing they are looking for is a way to make your life harder. She had dinner with friends that look like her. So what is the problem at this point in time? Because make this make sense. Let's get into this video.
>> What's wrong with this picture? because apparently a lot of people had an issue with this. So Naomi Osaka and Taylor Townsen they co-hosted a dinner for black tennis players and they posted this picture among other pictures. So we have you know players like Koko goes Nomaka, Taylor Townsend, AA Muhammad and Chris Eubanks in their picture. So they were attending this dinner and some people are calling this discrimination towards the white players. And here is what Nomio Saka had to say towards this backlash over on threads. She said she loves everyone regardless their race or ethnicity. And she also said, "Guys, I'm literally a half Japanese." She also says, "I can only speak from my own experiences in my own life, though growing up as a tennis player, I didn't see many people that looked like me, and I feel like it's important to celebrate them." She goes on to say, "Seond of all, I feel like it's important to note that there have been all white dinners and parties. I don't know how else to tell you this. I literally seen them all the time and never had an issue with it." To the people who ask this question, I want to ask you this question, too. What is it about people of color getting together that unsettles you so much? Osaka then goes on to say, I want to end this by saying, I grew up watching my dad get discriminated against. Having the cops called on him multiple times at the tennis court.
There are multiple things I will apologize for in my life, but celebrating being black and appreciating who we are will never be something I would consider saying sorry for. She then goes on to say, "Actually, I lied.
I am sorry. I'm sorry for the people who cannot comprehend in their brains that this is not about exclusion. This is a celebration about how far we have come.
And guys, I think if we're all being super honest here, we know that tennis still has some major issues regarding exclusivity, racism, stuff like that. And here we have some players doing work themselves, which the sports are not always doing to move the sport forward. And people are hating on this. We should celebrate this because we should rather be interested in moving the sport to like a better direction than it is now. And all of these players want to leave the sport better than they found it. But that is my opinion about this topic. Let me know in the comments what you thought of this dinner by now Musaka and Ta Townsend.
And if you don't want to miss anything I post regarding tennis, don't forget to follow me here and on Instagram for encore content. And I'll see you for the next one. Hello everyone. I'm Dr. Aadai Shakur. Some people are upset because Naomi Osaka had an all black party and that's because they all dressed in black. But then when she posted pictures and they saw that the only people who attended were also black, they got upset. Let's get into it. Now, when you hear complaints and grievances like this, you already know it's the usual suspects. You see, it's always the MAGA types. Yeah, those. Okay. Because the other white folk, they don't have a problem with these things because they absolutely understand and they're not bothered. But the MAGA types, they always want to try to use something called reverse racism so they can play the victims. But there really is no such thing as reverse racism because after all, if it was reversed, it just wouldn't be racism. Please pay attention. It's always interesting to me when the descendants of the people who invented Jim Crow laws, who wanted segregation, who didn't want us in their schools, who didn't want us coming to their restaurants, didn't want us applying for the same jobs they applied to, who would hang the whites only signs in the window real quick. Yeah. It's always interesting when they come and complain and and act as though they're being excluded from things when there was never a problem with us being excluded. You know, I know some of you are probably thinking, "But that was decades ago. That was during Jim Crow.
There's no longer that. Well, let's talk about what's currently going on. Please pay attention. Let's not forget about redlinining, which was outlawed in 1968, but currently today it absolutely still happens. And if you don't believe me, just look it up. They just do it in a different manner. But what about this whites only community in Arkansas? Did black people get upset, but hurt, bit out of shape, bothered? Did we complain about that? We absolutely did not. Now, we may have said, "Don't get upset if you see us doing the same thing," but we absolutely didn't get upset about it.
You see, because we don't care. That doesn't bother us. That's your right and your prerogative. And at the end of the day, why would we be upset or bothered?
We just aren't. But it's just so sad that some people are so obsessed and stressed about us and always trying to be in our business that they can't help but hate on every little thing that we do and feel as though they're entitled uh to be in every space that we're in even when they don't want us in their spaces. And mind you, the people complaining are the people who don't even like us. So that's how you know it's just all for show. Okay, please pay attention. Selective outrage is a thing.
They didn't have that same energy when Caroline Wazniaki, the Dutch tennis player, mocked Serena Williams back in 2012. Okay, please pay attention. We all know there aren't very many tennis players who look like us. And so they, I'm sure, felt a camaraderie amongst themselves. And as Naomi said, this wasn't about exclusion. This was about celebrating black excellence. Okay, please pay attention. Shout out to Naomi Osaka for standing 10 toes down and not apologizing for celebrating blackness.
And at the end of the day, she is the epitome of black girl magic. Please, >> you know, if I spend my money to do something, then you should stay out of my damn business. So, what am I talking about? Naomi Osaka, the Japanese tennis player, uh, who's a black woman, right?
born in Japan in Osaka and she decided to have a party to celebrate and establish community among black players prior to the French Open. A lot of white folks are mad. How dare she have a black only party? I mean, what if we had a white only party? You wouldn't you wouldn't be too happy about that, would you? I mean, I kind of look at it as if all the Ukrainian players got together and said, "We want to have a party with the Ukrainian players prior to the French Open or the Italians that are the French." But you'll say, "Well, that's about nationality, right?" And it doesn't exclude whites or blacks. Yeah, I get it. That is true. But why would Naomi Osako, why would any black person decide they want to have one of these parties? Well, it's because for so many years we were excluded from being part of things that you said we weren't good enough to be part of. So we had to create our own. You wouldn't let us eat in your restaurants. We started our own restaurants. You wouldn't let us go to your university. So we started our own.
You didn't want us living next door to you. So we started our own communities.
And when we did that, sometimes white folks came and destroyed it. We all know about uh the Greenwood district in Tulsa, Oklahoma. What was that? 1921 went in there what was called Black Wall Street. Over 300 people lost their lives. But there are other cities as well. Rosewood, Florida back in 23, St. Louis in 1917. Elaine, Arkansas in 1919, Florida in 1920. You didn't want blacks voting down there in Florida. And I think almost 1,200 people, if I'm not mistaken, about 500 people that lost their lives there. Um, blacks were forced to fight in segregated units until 1948.
Then there was the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act.
Even the GI Bill, although it was not, it wasn't written into the bill that blacks were excluded. It was so loosely administrated on the federal level, left to the states to implement. And many of those states denied black veterans access to benefits from the GI Bill. So all these things we wanted to do and be part of yet wouldn't let us. So we created [ __ ] on our own. And no, it's not a nationality.
It is about race and ethnicity. But this is a problem you created and now you don't like the outcome of the [ __ ] you did to us. We were forced to think this way for years. And as a result, we're always looking out for each other because for so many years, for a couple hundred years, you wouldn't look out for us. You didn't see us as equals. You didn't want us to be part of the club.
So, we created clubs of our own first and foremost. It's funny because, you know, if you ask someone from Africa, they won't tell you that they're black necessarily. will say, "I'm Somalian. I'm Ethiopian." For black people, we can't say that. We were stolen from our land, and most of us don't know where we came from. So, we identify as black. That's kind of our nationality if you so to speak. And you can't say she has no right to because as an American, she can she should include all American athletes. She's not an American athlete. She's Japanese.
But no matter where she goes, guess what? She'll always be black at the end of the day. It's her [ __ ] money. She can spend it any way she sees fit and invite any way anyone that she wants to invite. And if you feel excluded because you're white, get the [ __ ] over it.
Because for over 200 years, we fought fought to be part of your club and you didn't want us. So leave them the hell alone. Let Naomi have her damn party and invite anybody she wants to invite.
Y'all up here mad at Naomi Osaka for throwing a all black tennis party.
Meanwhile, we told y'all we don't want to be in y'all's faces. We don't know want to be in y'all's spaces or in y'all faces because y'all don't know how to act.
Y'all do not know how to [ __ ] act. So yes, she threw a all black tennis party and and I don't blame her.
Why the [ __ ] do you guys always get in your [ __ ] feelings when we just want to be want to be with our own people?
When we just want to be around our own people that we know we ain't going to get no flack from. It ain't going to be no racial bias up in the room. It ain't going to be no racism up in the room. It ain't going to be no prejudices up in the room.
We just want to be left to our [ __ ] selves.
But yet and still, here come you white people upset because you ain't invited because we don't want to be the [ __ ] around you. And you the [ __ ] still ain't figured out why. Although we've been telling you for the last 50, 60, 70, 80 years why we don't want to be around you. But you [ __ ] want to play oblivion to the [ __ ] that you guys have caused in this country towards every minority. Every [ __ ] minority.
So yes, we don't want to be around you.
Don't make that be surprising.
Hey y'all, this is George Cook at African-American Report. While at the French Open, tennis superstar Naomi Osaka gave a dinner party for the other black athletes at the event. Now, this seems to have pissed some people off, and I don't know why. All Naomi Nomi was trying to do was say thank you to these other athletes. On thread, she posted, "First of all, I do love everyone for who they are, no matter their race and ethnicity. I'm literally half Japanese, lol. I can only speak from my experiences in my own life, though.
Growing up as a tennis player, I didn't see many people that looked like me, and I feel it's important to celebrate them.
I don't know how else to tell you this.
I literally see them all the time and never had an issue with it at all. To the people who asked this question, I wanted to ask you this question, too.
What is it about people of color getting together that unsettles you so much? And I want to ask the same question. All she wanted to do was celebrate people that look like her and people she doesn't get a chance to see on tour a lot. that doesn't harm anybody. Nobody's being excluded. It's one event and they're among everybody else all the time. Don't see what the problem is. Love to hear you guys' opinions on this. Goodbye and God bless.
Naomi Osaka had dinner with black tennis players and somehow the mayonnaise militia started spiraling and turned that into a controversy.
>> When you're black, you're never really lonely because there will always be a white person all up in your business.
Naomi Osaka doesn't owe anyone an apology for celebrating black athletes in a sport that historically made black athletes feel isolated, unwelcomed, and heavily scrutinized. Period. Tennis has never exactly been overflowing with diversity. Black players in tennis have had to fight for respect, visibility, sponsorship, media coverage, and basic dignity for decades. from the Williams sisters getting treated like villains while dominating the sport to Naomi herself being questioned constantly for speaking about race. So when Naomi said she wanted to create a space where black tennis players could gather, connect, celebrate each other and simply exist together comfortably, what's the big [ __ ] deal? The fake outrage over what if there was an all-white party is exhausting. Spare all of us. The tennis world, country clubs, luxury spaces, executive rooms, and elite circles have functioned like unofficial all-white spaces for generations. Nobody panicked then. What Naomi did was community building. What Naomi did was visibility.
What Naomi did was celebrate people who rarely get centered in that sport.
People need to start minding their own business. Naomi Osaka hosted a dinner celebrating black tennis players. That's it. Nobody was denied rights. Nobody was harmed. Nobody was excluded from the sport. A group of black athletes got together to celebrate community, shared experiences, and how far they've come in a space that has not always welcomed them. If that bothers you, that's a personal issue you need to unpack on your own. She said it perfectly. Why does POC gathering together unsettles some of you so much?
>> I don't see how you can hate from outside of the club. You can't even get in. [laughter] >> Let go out.
>> Naomi Osaka is one of the biggest stars in tennis history. She has earned the right to create whatever space she wants for her peers. Good for her. And that's the read. If you like your tea hot, share it, save your seat, and follow for more. This is the Notorious JTB, notoriously opinionated, signing out.
Okay, Brad. So, people are really upset at Noamia soccer because last night she threw a tennis party for the black tennis players celebrating their accomplishments in the sport of tennis.
Now, tennis is not a predominantly black sport, right? So, they are always going to be the minority in these sports. So, you know, it probably felt good for them to be around other black tennis players that's going through the same exact things and they get to just celebrate and let their guard down CUZ YOU KNOW, BLACK PEOPLE WHEN YOU IN WHITE spaces sometimes you can be very uncomfortable and you can be suffocated by people that's not like you. You know what I'm saying? And we know a couple of these black tennis players don't went through a lot of things. You know what I'm saying? So, why the hell are they mad at Noamaka for just creating a safe space for other black tennis players? Like no disrespect to the Williams sisters, but we know they went through things and both of them have ended up with white husbands. You know what I'm saying? So, you know, I mean, I'm sure that being in those spaces can be exhausting. Maybe it maybe they don't feel that feel that way cuz they're saying, "Oh, well, why is it only for black people and they're not the only people that go through things?"
Yeah, they not the only people that go through things, but they're going through a specific thing that you're not going through. Do you understand? So I I don't like this this this every time black people just just not in tennis or anything, but whenever black people make a space that's dedicated for them is always seen as some type of threat. Why why are black people gathering and having a good time and loving one another and not being negative seen as a threat? You know, now they probably was on some dumb [ __ ] People have no problem with that. So no, I I don't like this. I don't like this. People have a problem with na soccer for celebrating black tennis players. It it makes if anything it makes them look un unwelcome because you have to be what we want you to be. You know, you can't be black in tennis. Well, they these people are all proving it. They're all proving, hey, we're black in tennis and we're enjoying oursel and hey, and it's not going to stop.
Naomi Ozaka and Taylor Townen basically hosted this dinner where they only invited their black teammates and they obviously celebrated their camaraderie and general and people obviously had a problem.
>> Why did they only invite their black teammates? What if the rules were reversed? Why can't we just all get along without always acknowledging color?
>> Matter how much you try to not make something about race. It always traces back to race because of how deeply it is embedded into our history and society.
And growing up as a black child in spaces where barely anybody looks like you does affect you whether people want to admit it or not. even recalls witnessing racial profiling with her dad as a young child. So, not only does your skin color affect you in real life and in society, but it also affects you in the space and sport where you are supposed to feel safe and welcome.
People act like representation is just some trendy internet word because people love popping on the bandwagons, but constantly feeling different from a child to adulthood in the thing that you love genuinely affects you. So for Taylor and Naomi to be a part of a generation where there are so many black players in a sport of many that once heavily excluded them. The reason why in the big 21st century we still hear the first black athletes to do so and so because the history of exclusion did all white parties happen every day and you never see anything wrong with it. Why can't you stand us getting together? I'm Naomi Osaka. Recently I threw a party before the French Open and all [music] the guests were black tennis players.
The internet exploded. People asked why can't you love everyone? [music] What if someone threw an all-white party? Of course, I love everyone. I'm half Japanese and grew up in two cultures, but in tennis, I've rarely met anyone who [music] looks like me. It's a lonely feeling. I just wanted to celebrate those who have walked this path like me.
This isn't about excluding others. It's about telling kids who are still struggling. Look, we're here. You're not alone. An all-white party. Honestly, I've seen countless all-white dinners and parties, and nobody has ever seen anything wrong with it. Why are you uncomfortable when we get together? I grew up seeing my father discriminated against. He was often stopped and questioned by the police on the tennis court just because he was black. That sting will never be forgotten. I have many things to apologize for in my life, but celebrating my black identity and appreciating who we are. I will never apologize for to those who can't understand. [music] I don't blame you, but I won't hide my true self just to live the way you're comfortable. I apologize for many things, but I will never celebrate who I [music] am.
Naomi Osaka has reacted to the backlash about her black only party. She co-hosted the event alongside Taylor Townsen to bring together players competing in Paris. Big names like Coco Golf and Gail Moni were in attendance for what was meant to be pure innocent fun. Naomi shared a message explaining that seeing everyone exist together in a predominantly white space like professional tennis is a win in itself.
Personally, I thought the event seemed completely harmless, but so many people aren't happy. Quite a few people accuse Naomi of being exclusionary and asked how people would feel if there were an allhite gathering. Everyone is going back and forth arguing over whether or not it should have been allowed. And despite this, Naomi's parties are going to continue with more in the future.
Later on, Naomi decided to step in and left a comment under a post about it and said, "But I don't care if people agree with it or not." I think this is exactly what needed to be said to shut down the noise. She is standing her ground and will not let people ruin a positive moment for her community. But before you go, I want to know, do you think the backlash against Naomi is unfair or does she I hate to break it to you, but women can be incredibly good at their sports and also very fashionable? Yesterday, Naomi Osaka took the court at the French Open wearing this unbelievable Nike custom fit. While there were tons and tons of people supporting her, there were many comments saying, "Go back to the Met Gala. This is a tennis court.
You just want attention." For too long, women have had to work twice as hard to be taken seriously, whether it's in our sports or in the workplace. There is nothing I get more fired up at when comments like this show up. We should let them roll off. These are the trolls that are speaking. Women can be both things. Angel Reese got the same [ __ ] when she was at the Met Gala in 2024 and people were like, "Go back to the basketball court. You don't belong here." Women belong in every single space. This is all I got from this video and I am going to ask this. What is wrong with Naomi having dinner with people that look like her? Because last I checked, they just see, let me tell you something. A very big shout to Naomi and I love the fact that you decided to gather people that look like you for an event and if you are a black person and it is completely beautiful fine to have people that look like you all around you. Did you hear me? It is okay to have people that look like you all around you. Invite them over for dinner.
I love the fact that she said that she is not apologizing for anything and there is no need apologizing because when white people decided to have their thing I mean nobody argues and more see I I don't understand why why this should be a problem that she is she's Naomi Osaka right she is black somehow or she is Let me say she is black and she [snorts] decided to have people that look like her that are in the same field with her for dinner and they had a good time. So what is the problem at this point in time? Because last I checked you guys are the ones suing people that look like me for having a space created for them medically.
You guys want to be in the midst of everything. Whereas there are so many things you guys have on your own, nobody argues. I there is also a scholarship program for white people which is not a problem, right? I think my people also have their own. So why do you guys always feel the need to be in every space? This is the problem. When people think that they are entitled to be in a space they are not supposed to be. It's just like me probably wanting to be in a space that I do not belong or I am not supposed to be. So what is wrong with her having a get together? We have friends. See, I think you guys should plan more of this. Yes, plan more of this. Have your people come over, spend some time with them. Um, talk business, talk about games, talk about things that you think that you want to talk about. That is cute. So cute to see when people choose to be very very negative because last I checked my people do not go around policing you guys for having dinner and all that when you guys you guys can do it. Nobody cares at this point in time.
My people do not care. Yeah. Because it is still the same you people that will go around being ready to decease to uh big uh tennis players and all that.
Sarina Williams. So many of them. All of them.
Man, I don't have time for all these.
So, a very big shout out to Coco. Um, Naomi, I said Coco Naomi Osaka for having good time with people that look like her. It's beautiful. Don't tell me, don't ask me what is wrong with this picture. What happened to the picture that I am seeing black people, all black people in that picture? How is that a problem? Die for now.
