Today we are getting into the music video for [music] Normal, which is I think the last song that I reacted to on BTS's most recent comeback, Adang. I'm going through the process of reacting to all of the songs in order on the track list except when they come out with music videos. So, uh, this worked out perfectly. I'm excited [music] for this. I really, really enjoyed that song. It's since then become one of my most played songs off of this album. [music] So, I'm really excited to see what visuals they have for us today. What visuals they put with this. [00:02:07]>> Okay, so this reminds me of two things like two previous BTS or BTS adjacent videos. Uh, first blood, sweat, and tears because like just divi when I see them in like a European style mansion with like nice clothes on my that's just that's the first place my brain goes.

[00:02:28]Uh, I don't know that there is any connection to Blood, Sweat, and Tears at all with this song and or the the concept or theme. Just my brain just just went there, you know, with this this nice house, mansion, whatever that they're at. And also like the laying, especially like when Jimn was laying out, that part just like really was like my brain just went blood, sweat, and tears with that, right? Um I I it's been years since I last watched the blood, sweat, and tears video, so I don't even remember who was laying in that video. I just know somebody's like, you know what I'm talking about. You you've seen the video, so you know what I'm saying. So my brain went there. Uh but my brain also went to Taye's winter ahead video.

[00:03:09]If you guys remember that video where he does like the the sculpting in again the like fancy like European style French chateau. I don't know what it is. I I I don't know architecture like that. Okay.

[00:03:21]But you get what I'm saying. That vibe is also it just reminds me of this here.

[00:03:28]So, um I'm not saying that there are any connections between the videos other than just like my brain thought these things were of a similar ethos or a similar aura and energy. It also has like a a kind of like somber sad tone to it which like they they are kind of giving that vibe here. Just the overall feeling of the the video is kind of like sad. Um, and this they all seem like literally and figuratively, physically and emotionally beaten up.

[00:04:00]And so, um, yeah, just interesting. I really like the style for them, though.

[00:04:05]It's like very regal. It's very regal and, uh, I just feel like it fits them as people, as artists, and so, uh, it's dope. But yeah, that's where my brain went. If you guys have any other like references either to videos that I haven't seen or uh I'm just not thinking of that remind you of this, let me know in the comment section down below. And if you guys do think there are in fact like real intentional connections between the songs/ videos that I brought up and this, let me know as well because other than like aesthetics, my brain doesn't think these things are connected. But if that aesthetic connection is intentional because it's reflecting a deeper thematic connection, then I'm missing that. And so let me know. Oh, one more thing. Who is this and what is her importance to this? Like it's this scene is so intense that I feel like it has to have some importance other than just like look at these pictures of this party that they're at, you know? Like it just this whole scene is just like very like the lights flash.

[00:06:49]>> Okay. Um, yeah. How am I supposed to feel is a is a great line to pause. I don't know how to I don't know if I'm supposed to be sad or like like they they seem both very sad and also like very hung over, you know? Like, so I don't know if if you get what I'm saying. I I don't know if I'm supposed to be like taking away from this that like this party that is represented in the video is meant to be vain and not something to aspire to. And they didn't actually have a great time.

[00:07:31]That was all just like a facade, you know? It's like putting on like this is supposed to be a joyous moment, so I'm supposed to pretend like I'm having fun, but like actually this isn't fulfilling, you know? Um or it it could they could just be like like genuinely just hung over like they had too much fun last night and now right now they all got like really bad headaches and need like a coffee and some cold pizza or whatever. I don't I don't drink, so I don't know what people do to get over their hangovers, but I feel like I saw that in a movie once that coffee and cold pizza is supposed to help with the hangover. Why? I don't know. But like that's that's what they said. So yeah, you guys can share your hangover remedies in the comments. But uh yeah, I I I'm going I'm not going to lie. I feel like I'm getting two polar opposite readings of this video so far, and I don't know which is which. I am very curious what happened to Taz, cuz like that's that should be illegal. like that you can't you can't just be hitting my man face like that. That's a billion dollar face right there. You can't just be doing that. But yeah, I I feel like I need more details. I still have no like foggy clue on who the chick with the with the pictures is in the beginning and like what what that's supposed to mean. But um right now they they all just looking like it's kind of like they like like sexy smugging mean mugging into the the camera. It's also like a little bit like kind of like sad and like this is all empty and then also a little bit like that was a rager last night and now everybody just like hung over and just kind of just like halfway zombie mode, you know? Like so I I don't know. I don't know. I don't know is what I'm saying. But it's very interesting.

[00:09:13]Like aesthetically it's very beautiful.

[00:09:14]I really like this style. Uh both the stylings on them, the outfits themselves are really cool. I especially I really like TA's like jacket combo situation and uh Jim's shirt with like the pearls is like a really like it's like a very glittery shirt thing like I'm not say I'm not going to say sequins but I don't know the right fashion term for it. Whatever it is it's like shiny uh without being shiny. It's it's a dress shirt but it's also shiny which is very interesting.

[00:09:45]And then like the little pearl thing that was cool. So um the stylings are dope. The setting is cool. I just have no idea what's going on in this video.

[00:09:52]And I feel like that's how I felt in like almost all the videos leading up to this point except Hooligan, which like was like pretty straightforward for me to understand and I really enjoyed it.

[00:10:02]But yeah, I was lost in Swim and then y'all explained it to me in the comment section. I was lost in 2.0 and then y'all told me that's like a whole movie.

[00:10:08]I just hadn't seen it. Sorry guys. Um and then here this could also be a movie. That would be like super interesting, but I don't know. So let me know. I'm just putting out there.

[00:12:18]Okay. Yeah. So, I definitely feel like this video has deeper meaning that I just failed to pick up on. And the biggest clues for that for me were again the initial scene with the girl with the photos who also appears later in the video as one of like the background people of the like party that keeps getting like referenced and flashed back to. Uh and that is also shown I think in [music] those little like pictures the Polaroid pictures that she throws up in the air. Uh so that's one thing that's like obviously a clue that something else something bigger is going on. Two, [music] there is I think a pocket watch or some type of metallic object in one of the boys hands that says swim on it. Or it might have been the lighter that JK was putting. Whatever it was, it was some metallic object that had swim carved into [music] the engraving on it, which obviously is connecting this back to the swim music video in some kind of way.

[00:13:13]And another connection back to the swim [music] music video is I believe Jim walks up to a um like I don't remember what they're called, but like the little replica boats. It's not in like a bottle, but like it's just on a stand or something. And it's the [music] same type of boat that they're on in Swim.

[00:13:31]So, at the very least, this video has a [music] very direct connection to Swim that I did not pick up on in the other music videos. I'm not saying that they weren't there. I just didn't notice them. Um, [music] with the exception of like I guess you could say like the water in like several of the videos.

[00:13:48]There's water that happens in several videos and then obviously swim. Both the song and the video has a lot of [music] water related to it. But um, don't they have like a rain scene in swim and then like JK is also like in the shower with like water on him. Same [music] general vibe, right? That's that's the swim video, right? So um, point is uh, this video definitely has a deeper meaning. I can't tell you what it is, but I I was able to pick up on the fact that it it exists. Um the the best scene in this [music] for me is the scene with the dogs. It's like all these like like you know the breeds that like the rich people, the rich old people, they'd be like strutting around at at [music] the little dog shows. Um they had like a bunch of them. I don't know all the other than like the Dalmatian. I don't know what the other dogs were called, but I could tell those are the rich those rich old people dogs, you know? So yeah, that were cool. Again, the like the very regal aesthetic [music] of this video I feel like fits the boys so well and uh I really like it. The stylings were great all throughout. Even the stylings I didn't mention, like the rap line styling is really cool. I really like Hobe's trench coat, Suga's like little like embroidered jacket. Um [music] and RM's leather jacket as well.

[00:14:54]It's just they all they all just styling's [music] fire. And then the end where they're all wearing the black, you know, like the the little urinal scene which is crazy. Um [music] their outfits there are all really cool. So, I feel like the stylings this comeback have been incredible. Like in every single video, they absolutely nailed all of the fashion choices. So, the stylist deserves all the money. Give them a raise and [music] and keep them around forever. Make sure that their benefits are up to date, their dental, all that.

[00:15:21]Uh is is great, but uh the videos have been confusing even though every single video I come out of it like this is visually amazing. And [music] then I I have no idea what's going on until the comments are like, "Hey, idiot. this is what the video means. I'm like, "Oh, that makes complete sense." But I just wasn't able to pick it up on myself, pick it up on my own. So, uh, if you know what this video is talking about or if they've explained it and I just haven't come across that because I've been trying to avoid any spoilers from like auxiliary extra, you know, interviews and things of that nature until I finish the album itself. Uh, let me know in the comment section down below because I know that there's something going on. I just don't know what it is.
