Tesla prices are currently elevated due to high demand for both new and used vehicles, with used EV wholesale prices increasing 7.2% year-over-year; the expiration of the $7,500 federal tax credit has eliminated subsidies that previously made new vehicles more affordable, while production constraints on Model S and Model X have further inflated their values, making it advisable to wait for better deals or consider new Model 3 purchases with attractive financing options.

Why Tesla Prices Are Crazy Right NowAjouté :
Why Tesla prices are crazy right now?
There's just a lot of demand both on the used and the new side and that's kind of why this might not be the best time to buy. Let me talk about which of vehicles you really shouldn't be buying and really only one type of vehicle you should be buying. Car dealership guy posted this EV prices are climbing in the auction lane. So it seems like people are buying them and of course dealers are then buying them which then pushes the price up on the wholesale auction lanes as well. Used EV wholesale prices have jumped up 7.2% year-over-year in Manheim outpacing non-EVs by more than six points. Of course this is because gas prices are increasing all over the nation, not just California, but gas prices in California are like $6 plus. The average of gas price posted about a few weeks ago was $4.18 with California being over $6 a gallon.
So we, you know, as a consumers, we just roll, you know, we go with the punches and so when gas prices go up we're like, "Hey, let's try that electric vehicle because we need to at this point." I would like to take a look at some of the used values on Tesla's car when CarGurus tracking value tracker for a Tesla. You can kind of see that the values have increased a ton, but it's almost kind of like panning out. It's not increasing as much anymore. So I think as we get into like the end of quarter two or quarter three that I think it might be the better time to buy and really if you're looking to buy used, you should do the math on like is it worth it between like the interest rates unless you're paying cash. If you're paying cash, then of course used typically is always going to be the better deal. But Nick posted this pre-owned value pre-owned Tesla values are surging. This is the increase in the past 90 days. We've got Model X 30%, Model S 9%, Model Y 11%, Model 3 10%, and Cybertruck 2%. S and X makes a ton of sense because the S and X got, you know, pretty much done done. It's killed. There's like actually none in inventory on the new side and also Cybertruck as well. You can't really get a brand new Cybertruck right now. There is some interesting production. I don't know if I want to call it delays, but production is they're Tesla doesn't want to build them for some reason, or they're focused on the rear-wheel drive, the $59,000 Tesla Cybertruck. But, if you're looking to sell your Tesla, this is where the values have been in your favor. So, if you're looking to upgrade again to that brand new Tesla, let me take a look at this example. A Tesla Uber ride posted, "My Tesla Model Y trade-in value increased by $3,000 in 3 months." Nice little gain there. This is why I do not get excited about expiring tax credit.
The used market was flooded with Teslas.
Now, with the gas price spike, prices are normalizing. So, that's why I'm saying, if you're going to be selling your electric vehicle, your Tesla vehicle, definitely check out Plug down below in the description. They are aggressively buying your vehicles, electric vehicles. They want to get you the highest offer out there nationwide.
We've seen some of the screenshots. It could be 3, 4, 5, $6,000 over everybody else. You get an offer within 15 minutes. Even if you live in a place that has a trade-in tax credit, Plug is still beating that offer. So, definitely check them out. Link down below in the description. But, here's the simplest example, and this makes the most sense here. If you actually take a look at it, if you zoom out from the past months, 3 to 6 to 1 year ago versus now, here is the simplest answer. It's basically because the 7,500 federal tax credit has disappeared. So, there's no subsidy anymore to kind of bring those prices lower. Tesla hasn't increased the prices, but some other manufacturers have decreased the prices by 7,500.
So, Christopher Dunn here dungeon here, I think is right on the money here in the sense that because the new side is effectively 7,500 more, that brings up the used side. So, if a vehicle is $40,000, but it's really 32 after the tax credit, then if a used one is 32, then it's really going to be a little bit higher because of the difference on the new versus used side. And so, it's certainly really the only vehicles you definitely shouldn't be buying one of these overinflated Model S's, unless like $155,000 is nothing to you, because like this person here, Noble is selling a Plaid, uh, Model S Plaid with uh, 2.7 thousand miles for $155,000.
Uh, Pretty crazy price here. And so, Model S and Model X are going to get inflated because there is demand because there's no more production. Model 3, I would say just get a brand new one, especially because the new ones have like 0 to 0.99% plus 1 year free supercharging plus attractive interest rates plus low lease payments as well.
So, if you're looking to do that, don't forget to use a Tesla referral code just like the one down below in the description so you can get all those different low interest rate 0 to 0% 0.99% plus 3 months of full self-driving added to your Tesla vehicle when you order it for free using a referral code just like the one down below in the description. But really, the only vehicle that I feel like is kind of like a maybe right now is the Model Y. Now, if you're getting a Model Y and you're going to be financing it, then yeah, 0% you can't beat that or 0.99%.
But the lease is a pause. I would say do not get a Model Y right now if you're looking to lease it. It's not the best deal that we've seen. We've seen some deals like 399, 450 for the premium rear-wheel drive. So, I think there is room for that to still come back and it's still pretty early at the end of the quarter right now. We still have a lot of time. To remind you, the quarter ends in June. So, June 30th. And so, we're only in May 10th right now. That's why I really feel like there's going to be some sort of deal either this week or next week or even this month. But taking a look at some of the inventory, people are still buying these Model Ys even if it's at 0 to 0.99% which makes sense. I mean, people like that offer. They want free money, especially with the market's doing and what they're doing this past quite couple weeks. It is very, very, very interesting to see this. But one thing's for sure, don't forget to use a Tesla referral code just like the one down below in the description so you can get 3 months of full self-driving added for free to your Tesla order. All you have to do is use a referral link just like the one down below in the description. But let us know what your thoughts are. Let us know what you're thinking. And are you going to be buying a Tesla vehicle right now or you are you going to be waiting just a little bit?
Now that you've bought your Tesla or you're about to buy your Tesla, did you know that it comes with zero accessories? Seriously, not even a phone mount. But, don't worry, we've got you covered. In my opinion, there's a few must-haves that every Tesla owner should get. Like a phone mount, so your phone doesn't fly off during acceleration, a center console organizer, because without it, you're going to lose a bunch of stuff, and my newest favorite, an invisible under-screen station mount from Jowua, a great place to store sunglasses. And all of these accessories, plus more, you can get from our partner, Jowua. And you know these accessories are good, because I actually use all of their stuff. And if you use our promo code down below in the description, you can save some money and support the channel as well. But, Jowua doesn't stop at just the basics. They've got a wireless game controller that fits perfectly in the glove box, a portable air compressor for peace of mind on those long road trips, and even an electric scooter, because why walk from the superchargers or level two chargers?
So, not only will you save some money by using our promo code down below in the description, you can also get free shipping on orders over $120. So, definitely check it out. Link down below in the description. Thank you to Jowua with us on this channel, and let's get on to the next topic.
