This case exposes a chilling failure of medical ethics where systemic bias overrides the fundamental duty to preserve life. It serves as a grim reminder that for marginalized groups, the healthcare system can be a source of institutional trauma rather than healing.

Black Woman DENIED Medical Care While Suffering Seizure in HospitalAdded:
Black woman suffering a seizure is denied medical care. We have the video.
We have the update. Here it is.
>> Not giving medication. Not a whole lot we can do about it.
>> I got all my kids and you see this officer. I got all my kids. They discharge her because I made a report.
Look, she seized. Like that is crazy.
And they don't give a whole report and they say call police.
You can't do nothing. Bro, that is crazy.
It ain't deny her medical help. You can't deny medical help if she seiz.
Come on. Y'all cannot do this. We in a whole hospital. They kicking us out.
Discharge. She's still seizing.
>> They don't care.
>> You just discharged.
>> No, they discharged us. The doctor cuz I made a report on her. We didn't discharge herself. She had six seiz.
>> She stopped breathing twice and everything. Like what?
What is it?
>> We have limited information, but I will give you the information that we currently do have. Put up the picture for mass.
A black woman in Kansas City was allegedly denied proper medical care while suffering repeated seizures at Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Kansas.
The incident involved uh a formal complaint filed by her husband against the facility.
Video footage shows her seizing in front of nurses as her husband advocates for her. Later on in the video, the husband placed his wife on the floor in a recovery position himself as medical staff looked on without intervening at all.
Hospital staff only transported her for treatment after Overland police officers called by the husband urged them to act.
According to her husband, this occurred just days after the hospital involuntarily discharged her. In that previous instance, she was found seizing seizing alone by herself on a roadside blocks away until a bystander intervened and called for help.
The woman's husband posted uh in a caption on Facebook, quote, "I just want to bring awareness of how Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Kansas mistreated my children's mother.
She had been diagnosed with seizures for the last two years.
She's been on several different medications. Just 3 days ago, they found her on the side of the road, not breathing, seizing, seizing in a puddle of water.
Two witnesses stopped and did CPR.
They called the paramedics and I on arrival, seen the paramedics and police. So I rushed over to them and the paramedics and proceeded to do CPR and found a pulse. They transported her to St. Luke's where they could control her seizures so she self-discharged and admittedly went to a different hospital, Overland Park Regional, and this is how she was treated.
She could have damn near lost her life if the police and I wasn't pressing the doctors to give her medical attention.
She sees for 10 minutes before anything happened.
After she was admitted to the hospital, they still discharge her because of the doctor. this is how they do our people. Altogether, she had 36 seizures in the hospital.
And quote, um, obviously if this is retaliation because he did the proper thing, filed a complaint, a complaint that would aim to fix the dysfunction that led to the unfortunate ordeal his wife had to experience. That complaint is to benefit every patient that comes after.
That is why the complaint process exists.
If they're retaliating against him because of that complaint, obviously that is a violation of every oath you can imagine a health care professional will ever take. In addition to that, our eyes are not deceiving us, we clearly see someone who seems to need what? Medical attention. Period.
Regardless of your belief or your personal opinion as a healthcare worker, you have someone in front of you who requires medical attention. the fact that the police had to come and back up the husband in order for the hospital to do what the hospital is supposed to do is an irony in itself.
Put up the chief medical officer. Since we do not have ample information nor correspondence with the medical center, we will provide to you the Overland Park Regional Medical Center Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Joseph Rubin.
Dr. Rubin, I don't know you.
A statement should be made. An investigation should be done and justification if not simple justice needs to be applied. Period. Share an horrible story. But we have reported on stories like this before on Indisputable. And unfortunately, we've also reported on how these stories can become the ultimate the ultimate evil and that's a person dying on the other end.
Yeah, it's heartbreaking to have to hear you report on another one after reporting on so many and there will be more to come. Doc, I can tell you that my mother taught me when my grandmother was just um in a nursing home, she tried to keep her at home. She would visit every day and I would ask her why she would always bring gifts and things. And you know, my mother was that kind of person anyway, but she said, "I did it to make sure that they'll treat your grandmother right." She wanted to make sure. And that's something we can all relate to. When you walk in the door, we don't expect you to treat us the way we're entitled to be treated as human beings. That's what we know as black people, black women. And I believe that that's part of this medical blind spot, if you will. Maybe we'll call it a blind spot. And it's really sick. Don't put out no statement like that. Unless you don't care and she's a throwaway and you're fine with having your hospital attached to this.
Yeah, we shall uh stay on it. Uh and you're right. Once again, the statistics don't lie. It shows that black women once again they're at the low end of the totem pole as it relates to effective health care in the United States of America. Even if they happen to be under a doctor supervision.
