Reggie Butler, CEO of Performance Paradigm and founder of the Human Code Project, teaches that effective leadership and meaningful human connection come from prioritizing people over outcomes, giving freely without expectation of return, and focusing on how we make others feel rather than what we say or do; he emphasizes that real people aren't perfect and perfect people aren't real, so we should give grace to others while asking ourselves what we can activate for someone to help them have a better day.

Reggie Butler - The Room | Living a Life of Service本站添加:
Leave a message after the tone.
Hey, it's Kayla. Pick up pick up the phone. Well, if you're hearing this, I just want you to know it was so much more than just a training.
It changed my life. Reggie taught me to put humans first and to lead with love.
Some of you are great managers and supervisors and and leaders and you're leading so that you look good. Why are you leading in the method that you do?
Because you're trying to impact the bottom line or be because you're trying to better people.
I'm not trying to get in trouble here, but think about it. and you go through the day seven days a week and give onetenth of yourself away. Because remember, if your actions affect you and everything that you do is seen or noticed by somebody, then it could be that one tenth during that one moment in the day that was the right word at the right time, the right action at the right moment to change that person's life to change that person's life. All because you were willing to give away with nothing in return.
You're amazing.
Just tell look at somebody. Tell them they're amazing because we all have a job to do and it's living a life of service. It's living a life of service.
Can you say that? I need to live in a life of service. Most of us spend our entire life in transactions with other people. We aren't trying to transform anything. We're trying to engage in a transaction. I don't care if you don't know them. They're sitting next to you.
Ask for help. say, "Will you help me live a life of service?"
>> Tell them you're amazing because I can't do it by myself.
>> The first question you have to be able to answer is, "What motivates you?" You have to ask yourself a couple of serious questions. Where am I spending most of my energy when I'm dealing with another person in a relationship? Am I spending energy trying to change them? You have to change. You have to change. You have to change. Change starts with me. This is how I used to be, and now I'm this way. If you can get that part right, chances are they will believe you. I think we can all do better. We can all be better. We can all care just a little bit more. But you have to make connections.
I want you to think about those moments in your life. Just let this go in for a second. Who are you helping right now?
Who are you helping and why? Understand that we can all be better humans with one another. I believe that the more you're connected to one another, the better the relationship will be and then the better the environment will be. The point is human first.
>> Human first.
Let that sink in for a second.
I've been in this space 34 years. I've been dealing with humanity that long.
Real people aren't perfect and perfect people aren't real. Give grace to some people based on what they're going through.
It's a very different way to lead your life. It's a very different way to make a difference. And that's where hope is.
So you have to make a choice. Pick somebody in your life and say, "What can I activate for them so they can have a better day because of me?"
This is amazing. Clap for now. Clap for the moment now.
People forget what you say. They'll forget what you do, but they'll never forget how you made them feel.
What I need you to do is turn to somebody. Okay? Find make eye contact with somebody and and get close.
Now, here's what you're going to do.
Now, some of y'all started hugging. I didn't tell you to do that.
That's it. You couldn't help it.
And why are you hugging? Cuz you wanted a hug. They didn't ask you for a hug.
You wanted that feeling, that touch.
living a life of service. Here's what I'm going to do. Tell them sincerely, look at them and say, "I love you.
