Branding is the intentional, strategic process of shaping how people perceive you, your work, or your organization through consistent actions, behaviors, and communications. A brand is essentially a perception or experience that others have when they encounter you or your work. To build an excellent brand, you must be intentional about what you consistently do, say, and share, as these actions shape how others see you. The key elements include understanding your audience, creating distinct ideas that differentiate you from others, and maintaining consistency in your actions. Whether you intentionally build your brand or not, you already have one, so it's essential to understand and shape it deliberately.

Church media Training 3.0Added:
processing as you speak. I'm speaking to you.
All right, let's pass together.
>> Praise God.
>> Praise God.
>> Hallelujah.
>> A beautiful is a life experience. Praise God. I think the first part that um you joined media for selfish reasons. Actually, it's not too selfish because um even some persons that come to church, they don't come to church just because they want to even serve God as some guys come to church because of some needies that they want to meet. But when they come to church, that is when their mindset is changed. So that's also a very good part that your mindset is shifted and now you really want to grow. And now you talk about having some ideas um some ideas that you want to put into action. Very very good. But one thing you must know is that you should not be in haste. Like I said that speed is useless if it's not in the right direction. So once you have these ideas ponder on them for a while because I believe in theory key principles learning believing and acting learn believe and act. So you should know that there are some phases that you don't even have to make much visible progress. You should you can just lally be learning in that place but you are making progress. You are learning. You are learning about the pros and cons about this idea that you have. You are learning about it. You are reading from people. Yes. Like what she said too, when you start talking to people, you should be convinced about it yourself.
So after you learn, you believe you believe in this idea that you have. So do you believe in the idea that you have? You believe in it. So since you believe in it, it's time to act because you cannot just believe what you've not learned about so far. If you believe like that, then it's very very wrong.
You learn, you believe, then it's time for you to act. You're acting now. Can you start moving to search for funds?
And I'm going to be realistic with you now. um sorting from phones from one person is going to be nearly impossible.
>> Yeah.
>> Nearly nearly impossible. That's why recently I've been so key about relationship with people, the relationship to keep. How many persons can you tell your business plan on your contact and they'll be able to Thank you. How many persons can you tell your business plan on your contact and they'll be able to fund for you even if it's just 2,000 NRA from some persons.
Even if it's just a thousand NRA and but you reach out to like 20 people, that's money there. But you will just go to an uncle, you just go to an auntie that will have this business plan, come help with 200,000, help with 500,000. The rich believe money to be an investment.
So if they're not seeing what you're going to bring without money, nobody's going to invest in you. So you must be ready to invest in yourself. Then also sought for funds from people, not begging. You bring out business idea.
Those that will help you will help you.
Those that will not help you will not help you. Out of 50 people, I'm telling you the truth, more than 20 will help you.
>> Amen.
>> More than 20. Don't say, "Oh, your ste will drop." Do you really believe in what you are insisting on? If you believe in it, you'll be willing to do anything for it. And like what I'm going to wrap it up with is that it's better for you to try and fail than for you not to try at all. So, better you try. Take the risk. And it's even riskier not to even take the risk. So take the risk and sort for the phones. Thank you.
You want to see something.
Okay.
Praise the Lord. In contrast, you know, they said that you should break your plan, that you should tell the person about your plan. Now in my own opinion I like you should tell the person the reason why you want to start that business or the reason why you need that money and also if they should give you that money what that money will bring out of you. You should tell them like he said the rich wants to see investment. You should not just go to your uncle or auntie and tell them that oh I need this certain amount without telling them the reason behind you needing that amount of money. Maybe I'll give it to you or even if I want to give it to you I'll not give you the full money I'll give you half of it because of the way you present yourself. So another thing again I want to add is the way you present yourself to that particular person. they they themselves they might be looking at you like oh you're a small person or something but if you present yourself as a high person or I'm not saying you should go with pride don't get me wrong but there's a way you present yourself say oh if I should give this person this thing then something will come out of it and when they give it to you do not make a mistake of saying you want to go back to that person because you know or you have an idea that anytime I go to this person they will definitely give it to me there are times when you they will give up on you because you're not seeing anything good that's coming out You understand?
Yeah. Thank you very much. I really do appreciate. Thank you.
Let's together session.
We're going to the next session. So when I say right about now, we champions together like we do it together. When I say right about now, give me a sounding clap. We about to welcome the sounding clap. Show understand this is philosophy.

>> I'm so happy to be here. Um, I think I was here 2 years ago or a year ago. I can't remember now. Where was I don't know was the media director there. She was she was she was a girl or something like that.
>> The media director there.
>> Yeah.
>> Okay. Okay. And I remember that paid for the training then I think. So this one is free. I want then it was fresh loaded that was the fresh loaded that spoke in that event and then I really say the thing helped me a lot I'm so happy to be here today this time last year also I was sitting down like you and I was looking at it praise the lord all right um please come so what I want to discuss about today is very interesting graphic design and take it please I I want to say Don't look at me different or something. We are together.
Let's discuss one of this. It's going to be very interactive and very interesting. All right.
So now to the next slide when talk about designing please let's go to design.
So is anybody that can tell us what you think design is from the word design graphic? Please can I pass the background?
Is there anybody that can tell us what you think design is? Why do we design?
Why graphic? Why not that? Why should they be graphic at all? Is there anybody that can try?
Why do we design? Like why do we design at all? You actually think design. Okay.
Um to me yeah what's the question?
>> So why do we design?
>> We design to take us um a graphic design is a form of communication. It's just like you and I speaking now but in colors text and um pictures.
So it's designed to pass the message across. There are persons that um it's a form of communication. There are person that don't have the the patience to watch a video >> that is saying something. However, if um an image carries the same message in that video is shown to them, they would actually be. So yeah, it's a form of >> All right. Thank you very much.
>> Yes. Thank you so much. Um before I continue fully so she said the exact thing graphic design is just all about passing the message across. All right. So for example now we have goodwise as an example. Okay we have Samo here. Now I want to tell you that Sam is a brand strategist for example.
Do you understand? How do I pass it without having to write it somewhere? Do you understand what I'm saying? With designing it, maybe this picture and just maybe writing something very short beside it. I've passed the message. Do you understand what I'm saying? And I know that already have the idea of how graphic design work or what graphic design is, but I just want to prompt our back to what it is actually.
So now I said I don't need to explain further about designing. I said what excellence in graphic design when we talk about excellence. We're not just talking about design now. Anybody can design. Do you understand? Some people use Photoshop, some people use correl.
But what makes you different? What makes you unique? What make you excellent? Now I think attaching is like okay it is not clear. If you can check the views that are just few of my views you see that most clients after delivering their works to them they always they always spectacular about something they always see something very different and that's talking about excellent talk about uniqueness now when you design how do people know that this design is for Joshua for example or this design is for Peter or this design is for who actually That's do you understand I'm saying? So that's why we're talking about excellence. So design speak for itself. There's some places that people see by design or they will see like this is do you understand? I'm saying now you are different. You are unique. I don't know you get what I'm saying. So that's what can use but what makes you different?
What make you different? What make you unique is you being excellent at that which you do. Do you understand? Now let's leave it. Let's leave gravity out of it. For those of us that do business that do um other kind of business, what makes your own business different for your neighbor's business or your competitor?
>> Is you being excellent? Is you being unique? Do you understand that they able to see and know that this is drift by charity? This is this by because they already know even without explaining they already know that this must be for her. You understand what I'm saying? Now graphic design is an excellent mean attention to details. For example, now you giving your clients come to you now give a brief and say please I want you to do something like this for me. How do you pay attention to that given to you? The brief that given to you this makes you different. This make you different.
Excellent.
Most times we get from client that we just go and start working. It doesn't really work like that. You need to act if possible to be very sure that you have everything that can make your work unique. Not because they just give you a picture and a logo. You know that you're supposed to have something else and you feel like you can work with that. If possible, you ask. Am I complicating it?
All right. So now understand your client's message. It's the same thing when you're talking about receiving information. How do this how what is the client actually saying? When you understand the message, you're able to deliver something very better. Do you understand? Now use right colors, use font, use layout and now I talk about something about I don't know if it can go back a little as a graphic designer what makes it different is how valuable you are leave it forget about graphic design when it come to business for example I started few years ago and something something pulled me out differently and that's what I'm going to share with you. You know when they were calling me here you were here as thousands of audience here as people that don't be told that that's not it's not it was not just written that's actually true by the grace of God you know I started my YouTube channel that should be a year ago or 2 years ago I can't remember and what prompted me to start that YouTube channel was because I had people that used to reach out to me that design some kind of design you design you use some kind of resources people reach out to me and say please what did you use what where did you get this from and all that so then when I was people reach out and say where do you get this resources for please can you make a video of this can you do this can you do this so then I started making videos and when I sent to you you sent to her before I know this same person come to you ask that same question I saw this design outside I said something how were you able to come up with something like this I make a video and I sent to people who are really appreciating me there. Thank you so much. You are just different. They came to my head. Now I started my YouTube channel not because I wanted to make money for me too because aside then I never knew that no go very far like this or something. So I just wanted to help people. So you now that come to ask me for this particular question you are coming the next day I cannot start putting that video for you.
I just have to give the same link that I give to you. Do you understand what I'm saying? So that what prompted the YouTube channel. Now because of that by the special grace of God today the channel has gone far has blessed over 100,000 people. It's already you can point to and check it. And it has 4,000 plus subscriber. Now I'm saying this because I was different. Do you understand? I'm saying how valuable are you to people around you? Forget being graphic designer. Forget just even as a business person. How helpful are you?
What impet do you like? What do you give out?
Do you understand? Now when it come to the channel, you channel, WhatsApp channel, it was the same thing as a graphic designer. I know that we buy courses very am I right? We buy courses, we buy resources, you know, you see I think 2 years ago there different resources to come. I'll be scrolling off. I've seen people buy resources. I like how do these people get these resources? I need to get them. Then I have to pay for it. So when I pay for it, I'm using it. I know the only thing I paid for get that to get the years ago not what we using now it's already old do you understand what I'm saying so me now I know there are a lot of people struggling they not to get it why I bought it then I stood there but I was saving this so when I buy it I know that other people are struggling to get it so I'll just it was beful I'm not should be should come in this area but I'm just trying to tell that way you understand so then I created a telegram And I'm I'm being honest. I never had any intention of you know having big numbers there. I just dropped the resources there and the next time I just post it on Facebook. I say if you need something like this but eventually you're not able to buy it because of the money go to my channel and access it for free. have paid for it and before you know it boom 3 10 20 do you understand for 1,000 people 2,000 people that's how the numbers are going do you understand and date I'm still teaching out that same value I'm still see how I can help them do you understand I'm saying this now because based on how valuable you are be as a graphic designer or a business owner this will make you uniquely different your own niche your own space what is that you are doing that other person are not doing that is what will make you different I don't know what I'm saying so now this one have brought me differently outside and you know people were like do you know just go to his channel what is this one so when they were mentioning he has it was not just like that it started from something how valuable do you understand I'm saying so that's for it so the next part we'll talk about is I don't know if you get what I'm say okay no now why excellence is important now let me break it down it builds your reputation for example now when you do excellent work I'm coming please let me put this slide so that okay when you the people start recommending you without you even talking too much. Now I'll be very honest with you. The best way you can make money as I don't take side but I think the best way you can make money in any kind of business is referrals who agree with me agree right and I'm speaking from experience the person I'm currently working with now when I say my best paying client currently now it was just referrals do you understand and that's why I come you know when most times you might have to work for some people for free do you understand for example someone say okay Please come and design for me for free.
And maybe for some reasons you want to do it. The same energy the same way you deliver to someone that pay you the same way you deliver to someone that asks for that free as long as you do it. Do you know why? Now that same free desire now might be that might be the same desire that will bring your next paying client.
I I don't know what I'm saying. So when I talk about referrals, I talk about you delivering something very nice and the next people see your work and say who did this nice job? Who is the person?
Do you understand? Now you don't need to speak for yourself. Most times what you speak about me now will convince her better than what I talk about myself. Is that true?
For example, now should you try it? For example, I come and tell the graphic designer, I do this, I do that, I do that and I go away and he comes and tell the same thing without I never came to say anything but talk about me. You know that this guy is not an athlete. Maybe there's no competition but just talking based on experience. Do you know you believe me when I talk? Is that true? So that's it. So I say reputation how best your work comes out this will make you different. I don't know. So that's the beauty of reputation making you different different from other person. All right. So now it brings better opportunity and I said big clients don't search or look for average designer. They want people that understand quality. If you if you excellent you attract better paying jobs and that's very true.
That's very true. All these things are from experience and being honest. Very honest now. It makes you stand out.
Let's be honest. Designers are everywhere. Is that true?
>> I don't think there's I don't think there there's nobody that doesn't know how to speak. If you cannot speak, please raise up your hand.
Please, honestly speak, if you can speak, please raise up your hand.
Look at it. Very few of us. You can scan by if you can Photoshop please.
Okay, I can see we have more smartphone designers here. If you cannot please now, okay, we have more smart design now why I'm asking this question because I've understood that we have more designers. Sure, there are some people that you just ask what is your skill graphic design? You can begin to ask everybody now what's your skill graphic design. What's your skill graphic design? Am I am I to tell you how bad it is? But yet what make you unique? What make you different? What make people pay? Even as as crowded as the space might be, there are still people that are still looking for your service. Do you understand? If you can beat if you can beat the expectation, there are people that are ready to pay you.
And that's what you accidentally different you are what you uniquely different. I don't know that you get what I'm saying. So please take note of all this and it builds confidence. Now when you know your work is solid you won't see God presenting or charging your price.
Please I used to be up till tomorrow I'm still learning. Please let me let me emphasize on this very well. Up to tomorrow I'm still what? I'm still learning because I know that I'm still what? I'm still growing.
You understand? So if you see any way you can upscale, please always grab the opportunity.
They are better design. You know people that are better than you when it comes to design. True or true. You are not the best. Forget it. People say speak to yourself. Affirm it. I'm the best. Forget it. It's not just by words.
But you know there are people that you want to tell you know who knows optimum guy who knows that guy you know him now you want to tell me that you are better than him now I don't know you're laughing you're better than him now so the thing is we're not trying to but we're just trying to tell that there's still chance for you to upscale you can always build like I told you I'm building you understand I'm still building so please when you build yourself with confidence when you become you can charge because you know that what you are delivering is worth your pay. It's what you charge. Do you understand me? All right. So now let's go to this next one. What stop you from being excellent? Laziness.
Yeah, that's very true. You don't want to go through the stress of searching for so much resources. You know Pinterest here, those of you that use smartphone, you know Pinterest is not for looking for makeup. You know Pinterest has diversity of things. does you can go to chest and look for the best modeling the best clothing I'm talking about design resources inspiration all right so how inspired are you that you go to chest and look for resources to build most of you when you just get one or two okay most times you need to go further you need to work hard you understand I'm saying now you talk about copy to copy mentality we know about application replicating designate different from copy to copy some that copy very well excellently well you can copy here please take note of it that's topic of being excellent you are not willing to learn like I said please you should have that in your mind always ready to learn all right work just to collect money now let's go to how to achieve excellence practice every day how well do you practice do you still practice or do you feel like you are okay at the stage you are how well you still practice please take note of that even if you don't have any client work at the time create something challenge yourself I used to talk about this most times you don't have job every time do you understand I don't know but most times every day you used to have design maybe I've got to that level but most times if you don't have design job at that point create something how many of us used to do this you see something online now maybe like that is challenge how many of us do that designers that there's anybody that did possibly experience challenge.
Okay, nobody did it here. Okay, did you?
Now I want to say something. Most times you challenge yourself to quit some certain things. It might not be because you understand I'm saying but most times you challenge yourself to create even though you don't have any work at work.
All right.
Now let the fundamentals already know that get feedback please. This very important I told you the best way you can get like better and faster is your true referral. Is that true? Now please when your client tell you this job is nice or give you a fantastic review about it. Please document it. It's very important. Do you understand? Yeah. Most most times you don't need to speak too much. You don't need to tell tell your clients too much. Just need to say this is it. Look at what other clients are talking about my service. I'm sure you know that has confused them. So please document it. Don't overlook clients you use. All right. Be original. Inspiration is good, but don't just copy. Add your own thinking and be creative. Pay attention to details, please. Alignment, spacing. Pay attention to all the things. Now, let's move to what the Bible says about excellence. We're in the church, right?
So, this what Bible talks about excellence. Now, the Bible talks about excellence as doing things with wisdom, integrity, diligence, and for the glory of God.
Not perfect, right? But giving your best in character, work, and faith.
Now, Proverb 22:39 say, "Do you see a man skilled in his work?" You do what?
>> You do what?
Do you believe that your skill can take you before king? For me, actually 5%, 10%, 20%.
If you are not very sure, let me just say if you are not very sure but you believe in the Bible, just because the Bible say it, you're very sure that your skill can do that. All right? With much work, your skill can make you start performing. Do you understand? If you look at it, excellence can open great door for you. It can. Very true. Now, Daniel 6:3, Daniel has an excellent spirit in him. The Bible say in Colossians 3:23, "Whatever you walk, do artly as for the Lord and not for men." Give your best effort in everything. Please take note of this in your design. Put in all your best effort as possible as you can. All right. Now, let me leave you with this. In this design journey, you have to dress this to be just another designer.
You know, there are some designer that people cannot become, you know.
Excellence is not one type thing. It's an habit. It's a mindset. So you go from here to there. Don't just aim to design.
Aim to design to excellence. Now I want to say something.
You know most times I used to attend conference very well and there's something that distribution I attended one of the and there was a guy that was at the at the for when he said he say exactly it it me well you know he was this kind of mark that's it powerful this and that was something the man said or is it the woman again he said it's not about shouting that's it powerful this and It's all about you what? Walking towards what you want.
All right.
Sam is here now is a friend of mine.
Both of us go for events very well. Now it's not just about going. If you talk about not worry about for like this but it's not just about going we know that I am going now so that I'm coming back to build myself to be better it's not about coming here it's about you going up different now I told you this role last two years or last year when I was the assistant director in my fellowship kakov I'm calling director now when I was the assistant I came for a training year that was paid first was one I was teaching in this do you understand I'm see and I was teaching about photography I was not able to meet teaching but I know that he has handled it very handle lightning angles and everything and then I went back to my fellowship I think I asked a question that day my fellowship is very open I'm going to be closing out but I just want to insult your mind you understand you have to go very different my fellowship is very open somehow and I know that most taking pictures light is affecting it so I asked the question how can we take pictures this kind of atmosphere and produce nice results. And he answered me that time and he told me what I can do. He told me I can use alles to take pictures so that I I'm able to get my result. And do you know what I went back to my fellowship? I put when I went back home I had to note down everything he said. I had to make sure that this thing he said I'll make sure that I give it a try and it doesn't work. I know that I tried which means he was not in the right. You understand?
For it's not here yet. But God be your glory. Today I taking nice pictures. He helped me. It's all my people in disable so you too can be like that. All right.
Thank you so much for your time and God bless you. I'll stop.
Hallelujah. Let's join this together.
Okay. quickly before we proceed to the next section.
So, do we have any question?
Yeah. Okay, let's start with Okay, sir. Please, I have a question.
I'm struggling with color combination. I don't know the right color to use for text. Neither do I know the right color to use for background. But I I know design but I don't know the color of this shirt. I'm usually lost. Everybody me I'm like is this color nice? Is this fine? Like there's so much I really need advice on what to do and coloration.
>> All right. Now can I give you advice?
>> Sure.
>> Is that fine? But what I'm saying I can do is about when he call I think that >> all right.
Praise the Lord.
>> Hallelujah.
>> Praise the Lord.
>> Hallelujah.
Good.
So start.
So there is at most you need three colors. If you're just starting three colors, so there is 60 Then you right. If you check the design there 16 is the green, the 30 is the yellow and then the 10 is the red. Right? So that's the basic basic one. But beyond that, especially if you're just starting out, start by stealing colors from designs. I say this a lot. Everybody's a teeth. is the one that they call the Amen.
When I mean tip like not the extreme part but like check out designs that you admire that already existing then pick out colors from there. If a design has three three colors, four colors, pick it, I want to replicate, try things out.
As you get your hands on this, then you become okay to steal. They call me a stealer call. We call copy direct. We now have our own money and join now look like is you like the original owner but you are not the original owner you copy from someone. So any other question any curiosity okay in the absence of because of our time I have a question I have a question but let me just ask and please let the our instructor will just answer now. Um he said something about building a reputation but yes as business owners maybe you have a skill learned like this or maybe you are selling something there is always this value and growing I I I used to tell myself that let me not lie maybe I'm shying away from responsibility I don't know but sometimes I used to tell myself that I know you kill myself. Yes, that one that customer not my customer. But sometimes it breaks me because I'm expecting you to come back. But now you're not satisfied because you expecting way too much from me. And let me say by an instance you pay you don't reach you expect too much. How do we tackle such? Because now if they drag me on Tik Tok now she do me she be very wicked person. Now how do you tackle situation?
>> All right. Praise the Lord.
I don't think there's anybody that is perfect and for designers here is anybody ever designed that always maybe someone corrected you or spoken to you about your design that what is this anybody like that never be perfect always perfect perfect now it's expected I forget I talk about that I was talk about that it's expected most times that you understand you might get bad reviews but what makes you different now a client that or a friend or someone that might tell you this product for those of you that sell something or maybe business owner this thing this work we did is not like this do you believe that that same person she was saying something about them not coming back again do you believe that that same person can come back do you believe that same person come back yes very true the person can come back depending on how better you grow it's all about you grow do you understand now most times take reviews Make these corrections. Don't take it to heart. Most times it's painful. Might might pay you but most times look for a way. Most of them are very true. If you if I check few years back most things they told me then I might think it's a lie. I feel pain that why is this guy telling this is it wasn't like most design and I'm simply true that this person is actually true.
Now what makes it different is going back to what that person said looking for a way around it and becoming better that talked about it and say what is this that same person can still come back patronize you now what change yes because you actually upskilled you grew do you understand I'm saying so you take those views as a ladder to move higher to go better do you understand it was I think it was it was when we attended story. There was a woman that talked about failure.
>> It's expected most times. You don't say you must not fail, I must succeed. Do you understand? I'm just trying to draw it from there too. You must not say I say you must succeed, you must succeed.
Do you understand? Even though you fail, you don't say because you fail down you are nobody. You cannot succeed.
He gave us an example of the two talking about that light. Do you understand how many times? I think it's on record now. How many times he fh 99 times. Now look at it. Do you understand? So it's just how you take those process those bad to become better. That was do you understand?
>> Thank you very much. Let's together Israel.
Okay, we're going to the next session.
Okay, we're going to the next session.
But before the next session, this this is actually highlight of what we've done for those of us that came a bit early. We're not. So the first session was excellence in photography. And our teacher taught us excellence requires you understanding lightning.
Excellence requires you improving in your storytelling.
Excellence require you mastering sounds made reference to you seeing a situation whereby they worshiping God. You're supposed to believe a slow or a solen music not a view a view when they're throwing steps that's actually wrong and we also talked about understanding color grading of which Mr. uh miracle he threw more light on it again talk about practice editing excel in the media mean okay this was the note excel in media means never becoming too comfortable with what you already know meaning you must what you must learn day in day out so we're going to bring the recap for um minister Israel after the next session so if your hands are not too busy if your hands are not because it was not the session but he has already so he was already so join us on the next session Praise the Lord.
>> Hallelujah.
>> Praise master Jesus.
>> I don't know to stand, but can we celebrate? And can you guys celebrate yourself? Celebrate yourself.
Thank you so much for coming. I mean you could have been somewhere else but excited to be here. Thank you. That means a lot to us. Um for context um I'm under graduates from schooling here in so I'm not okay. So um can we celebrate destiny for putting this together that he has done a lot of work it's not easy to program our craft now show celebrate great can we put our hands together for our speakers can we put our hands There you are.
Thank you so much.
I'm waiting for my slides.
But while I wait for my slides, can we just do a little bit of experiment?
You've most probably heard of the word branding. You've heard of the word branding. At least you see I'm on the fly now. You of the word branding. Can you just wave? Okay. What do you understand by branding?
>> Uh for me, I think it's a way of you presenting maybe your own product or information.
>> Thank you so much. That's uh that's close. Any anyone else? Anyone else?
Anyone else?
Anyone else?
All right. So, where's where's my hand? Who's handing this for me?
>> Right. So, okay. Just so I don't waste too much time, I have before me, of course, this is um the church media training, right? and I've been I've been touched to speak on the the topic seated before kings which is basically what the theme of this event is from proverbs 229.
So in this session we'll be learning building an excellent lead brand through diligence. Building an excellent brand through diligence.
When the purpose of a team is not known, abuse is inevitable.
When the purpose of not, abuse is inevitable. Anyone knows who that quote is accustomed to?
Anyone?
Wow, that's interesting.
So you guys don't know who has this. Who owns this?
>> All right.
Thank you, >> doctor. That quote is by that is a part of branding.
>> We're going to get there.
>> All right.
Amen.
Amen.
>> Amen.
>> Okay. So, we need to know why we should build a brand as a person and also as a media personnel. Why should we build a brand?
So in Mark 27 Mark 8:27 it says it says now Jesus can hear me.
>> All right. It says, "Now Jesus and his disciples went out to the town of Cesar Philippine and on the road he asked his disciples saying to them, who do men say I am?"
Who do men say I am? So they answered John the Baptist, but some say Elijah and others one of the prophets.
So, is it Jesus fault that they don't know who he is?
I see some of you shaking their head. Is it Jesus's fault that they don't know who he is?
If it's yes, raise up your hand. If it's no, raise up your hand.
You can't be on both sides.
Yes. Okay. Yes. Just raise up your hands. There's no wrong hand as here, please. Like we are here to learn. Okay.
Just Yes. Raise up. It's Jesus fault.
Jesus's fault. Go in.
So, I'm going to assume everybody here agrees with no, right?
>> Yes.
>> You agree with no. Yes. Or you agree with yes. Yes.
>> You agree with no. Yes. So, it's not his fault.
>> All right. What if I told you that it's his fault? Jesus.
>> All right. So if you read further, it's not but if you read further Mark 8:27, when you read further 29, I think Peter answered and said you are Christ, right?
>> And then Jesus said don't tell them like don't language no louder because at that time they deal with times and season. It is it wasn't yet time for the world to know him. So whether or not they knew him or did not know who he was, it was his fault. In our context, I'm not saying his fault yet, but teaching branding, it is fault. So if people do not know you yet or they know you for the wrong reason or they mistake you for someone else's or they mistake your product or your work for someone else's. It is your what?
>> It is your what?
>> Let's continue please.
So we need to explain the terminologies brand. What is a brand?
A brand is simply the god a person has a product, a service or an organization like church. Amen. So brand is a god feeling. How do you feel when I mention something that is a brand how you felt branding is brand is a perception.
There are some people that when you go when you tell them I'm inviting you to deeper life the kind you why because deeper life already has a perception that they've created. Are you following me?
>> So brand is a perception. It is an experience.
So when you go to some certain churches I don't want to mention name there's a way you are going to there's a there's an experience that these churches are going to give. Right. I told let's I went to a church about I think last month and I was worried you know I was coming they say the camera like I went to the camera and I went ahead and you know they were posters they were not hostess but like people write just welcoming me and as I was going they said pick a they told me to pick a paper right so I picked a paper they were like the word of god for you today so there's a there are multiple papers on the in the plate so I just pick lucky number quote and unquote and what was there was a Bible passage. So that was the Bible passage for me at that particular point. So I went into the church. A protocol told me, you know, come this way. You're welcome to church.
And I went there, right? And then I got to to the next turning point. Another protocol told me, you're welcome to church. Move like this, sit like this.
And I sat there. Now that is an experience. I can never forget that experience. I think I should mention the church. So on the road of Asaba.
So that's an experience I cannot forget.
When I go to I look forward to going to that church and you know they gave me first timers package. So come for them guys first timer.
So guys what I'm trying to explain is it's an experience. So how does this relate to you as a person you are outside of church now let's say you run a business from when the person texts you to how you respond to the person or is that WhatsApp business automation message that oh we are not available at the moment you know some people you are not buying anything just I won't connect you the next thing one that is nonsense if that is turn off and turn it off is rubbish You rather not reply than give a a tell me calm down.
>> All right. So it's an experience. So as a person, let's say as a creative designer, whatever you do, photographer, someone comes to you to make inquiry from how you speak to the person, how you present yourself, how you talk to the person on phone. You know Nigerian they know how to talk. An average Nigeria you call someone and person number calm down like some I've had crazy experiences guys trust me. So the experience it doesn't matter what it is. The lady here was asking a question.
Sorry I don't know your name. And she was like you know this person gave me a bad review and everything. All those things is your fault. Whether or not you admit or not it's your fault. There must have been a perception that you've given to the person that will make that person you know treat you a certain way.
So let's move. Let's move on because of time. It's a reputation. You understand why it's a reputation? When I mention some certain churches, they've done these things consistently over time that it's now their standard. It's now their reputation. That's why when you see a catch up, but let's say when you see a deeper life member for instance and the person is putting on a hearing and putting onings and all of that, it's not bad. I don't I am not a like I don't know what to say at this time, but I'm just being an example. Okay guys, so it's not that these things are bad, but because this person the person's church has a certain reputation, you have the right to question that thing like are you a life member truly you're putting on all these things, right? A lady sitting there, right? Because it's a reputation the same way you are going to see in certain churches you cannot you cannot go in there with your hair loose how to tie scarf if you're putting on tr or you can't even put on the truss to church that's a certain reputation why because they've done it over time so that is their brand amen that is their brand it's trust so whether or not someone trusts you or do not trust you is because of the experience, the reputation, the perception that you've given to them to make them make those choices.
So from the things you post some of our names on status cal for yourself re all of these things are things relate and in turn forms a reputation and consequently forms a brand. So whether or not you are intentionally building a brand they say oh I won't build my brand now whether or not you say I want my brand I don't want build my brand you already have a brand there are some people that will come to you and say you know some precious I need money like 30k I be free there are some people that you can give that kind of money why because you trust them they've had a certain reputation with you are you following me >> why there are some people you you you have the money and you say you know I don't get are you guys following me >> why because you've had a certain perception about them they built a certain reputation with you there some people that it's not you they friend you tell your friend if you know say you don't want to beg this guy for money don't give up like don't give this guy your money if you know you don't want to beg for it why because they built a certain reputation that is a brand.
So and also expectations. So all these things I've explained expectations come with also. So you go in the context of of um of the church now deeper life as an example. The reason you're able to question that person and say oh you're putting on this you are doing this you are sure you there's a branding expectation that you have of them. Amen. Are you following?
There's a branding expectation that you have of them.
Right. So the next one is branding. I just explained brand. They said there's quite a difference between brand and branding. Brand is what it is now. Brand you already have a brand.
But the branding as the word is ing it is a continuous process. It never ends.
It is a continuous process. So branding is the intentional strategic process of shaping perception. So you already have a brand good or bad. What now determines how you know you continue to interact with people? How the the kind of perception you continue to build with people around you or people that comes you know into your circle is what is called branding. So that is the process intentional process of shaping perception.
I could have put on a different color of clothes today, but I chose blue. Who knows why brand?
So, it's not like I'm trying to It's not like I'm I'm saying, "Oh, I I'm just wear I'm just wearing any clothes, right? It's intentional. What clothes or what, you know, whatever I put to this location."
That is how you build your brand consistently. It's intentional. It's not random.
Some of you, if you know the work that goes behind just a president appearing to a podium to give a speech, if you know the work that goes, they will measure everything down to the shoe, down to the time. That's how we intention at the hour. When the Bible says you are a holy nation, do you know what a nation is?
Some of you don't know. You don't know the amount of work required for a nation. But let's not go into that.
Let's come back to branding. an intentional pairing of relevant things done consistently done consistently.
If you if you for for whatever reason I've been connected to your on WhatsApp every day before I close from work like go off my status you'll see something like be the change you want in the world now I don't have to say my brand is be the change holding just subconsciously as I did that and pair that with my brand my person consistently you begin to relate those things together. So what are the things some of you the brand perception that people have of you is this person serious some of you say no don't judge me by what I post in life will judge you tell your neighbor we judge you bam right so if you consistently post news I'll just I'll mute you >> why because you have consist if you it once, twice, and long on you. You do this consistently. I'm just in my head.
I'm just like you're not serious. But that does not mean you're not serious.
Amen. That does not necessarily mean you're not serious. Even the Bible says it is God that judges by the heart. Men will judge by the physical appearance.
Guys, let's not deceive ourselves. Don't judge by God. Judge it.
Amen. Right. So an intention of relevant things. So the question will now be an intentionality of art or action. What do I want to be known for? What do I want people to remember before? What what what do I want that when I mention my name, I want this thing to come up?
I've never told um you know sir Israel physically that oh I'm a brand strategist and and I've never told you but because consistently I am a custom brand strategist with my name it just clicks.
Amen. Every post I write I add a blue emoji. If you say blue emoji, even if it's not me that did it, that you reacted with that emoji because you have already you know accustomed and ped my name or my person with that blue emoji even though you know that it's not me that did that particular thing. You remember that's why branding is important because you want to stay at the top of mind of people that is how you win the game. You want to stay at the top of mind of people if I mention CCI here. Almost everyone if everyone said who doesn't know CC you see nobody why because they are constantly pushing out their when comes up there's a there's a perception you have of them you see this church with a energy energy the we get that in case studies so that that is it so it's an intentional you have begin to ask yourself what do I want to be you know what do I want to be related to my brand. Let's say you sell can't really give example a physical product.
Let's just say you sell something like like uh like baker you bake cakes right it's not just anybody can break cake and that's why thatam previous example was very important it says some says you are John some says you are the prophet why because there are many people already there billion not a billion there are billions of people in the world almost doing the same thing that you do what would stand you out is your brand that is what stands you out. So you ask yourself, what do I want to be? You know, what do I want to be related to me and all of that?
I will try.
I try. I don't even try. So brand or be branded. Like I said, you don't have to intentionally build your brand. Whether you intentionally do it or not, you already you already have a brand. So tell your neighbor, brand or be branded.
>> Branded.
>> Brand or be branded. So you either do it intentionally or you do it unintentionally. All you know you build with.
>> So that equals to identity.
They must first be able to identify you before they accustom something to you.
Ident you then accustom something to you. I will try to rush because of time.
I don't know how long time they give you. And also association. Who are those that you are associated with?
If I took a picture, I don't remember I took a picture. I took pictures with um I posted I mean I took it like two years ago or so with this baba and I posted it recently and you know come on you don't it's nothing but because of that association the the perception they had of baba it's rough stuff for you are you getting it so the kind of people you associate with must be intentional about it there are some people there are some things I do they're not bad trust me I don't pastor Or maybe I do, I don't know. But I can't just post them online.
Why? Because it's not consistent with the kind of things I want to represent as a brand. And some events I go to, I don't post the flyer or some event I speak at, I don't post the flyer. Why?
Because I just maybe I just want the person like you get it.
So I can't why because it's not consistent my brand. There some kind of designs you will send to me. Good for you. Like I will support you. But the design is not to the standard that I want to be with that particular brand.
So tell my siblings if you are having a birthday and you took a picture of photo shoot and all your clates are showing everything. I will not post you. Even if you my brother, I will not post you.
Why? Because that's not what I want to be associated with. I will celebrate. I will send you message, send you gift and all that, but I will not post you. I do not hate you. It's just I'm just protecting myself. Amen. So let's you know let's let's go on with this some of time. So building an excellent lead brand requires sell distinct ideas.
The ability to sell what distinct ideas like I said every almost everyone here we are in one way or the other doing the same thing. If you are not doing the same thing as a student we are doing the same thing as a designer we are doing the same as a photographer or whatever you know we are doing. But the point is whatever space you belong to that space is saturated. So for you to be able to build an excellent lead brand you should be able to sell distinct ideas. So what differentiate you from the other persons? Anybody's posting come and buy come and buy come and buy. What will differentiate you in that come and buy space?
It is the things that you do that will differentiate you and that's how people you know can identify that oh this is this person's brand this is this person brand a lot of phones brand but once I once once I you know bring out a phone that has this Apple that is beating you just know that this is this brand I don't know that I'm having some people said that three camera why because they want to know that what is this Apple product easy now. So to sell and selling a lot of us our idea of selling is corrupted. Selling does not necessarily have to do with buying and selling as in goods and services and all of that.
Selling is idea exchange. As I'm standing right here, I've been speaking for let's say the past 10 minutes. I'll be send to you.
Amen. For your mind.
That's an idea I'm selling to you. So the things you do and the things you do not do, the things you say and the things you do not say, they are all sales.
They are all sales. If you come to me and say I want to learn design, I send you whatever I would send you. do not do not want to pay I not try to disturb you. I lost on my status post back to back back to back. I don't need to tell you come and buy you.
You enter my DM.
Amen. So that is sales. And let's look at an example of sales in the Bible. And this is going to be shocking. This is the greatest sales pitch in history.
Amen. Pay attention. The greatest sales page in history. Matthew 4 19. Follow me and I will make you what? Fishes of men.
That's crazy. Dear, right? Enjoy.
Follow me and I will make you what?
Fishes of men. Why didn't he just say follow me? I I will teach you how to imatize. Why did he say you know Peter follow me I will teach you how to convert you know people that other religions to my religion or follow me I will teach you what theology of you don't know the language of your audience if I were to be in a in in a much more how do I say that doesn't come off bad to be in a in a much more corporate you know organization speaking here today I'm not going to be speaking The reason I've been putting pigeon one way or the other is because I know my audience.
So to build a brand and an intentional brand and an excellent lead brand, you need to first know what know your audience.
Know your audience. Some of you are trying to sell things online. It will change your life. It will do this.
Especially Nigerians, we don't really care if it will change our life. He go give us money. Will it make us money? If you make us money now, now okay.
So how can you connect the things that you do with the needs of you know your audience? That's why you have to first know your audience. Let's say you you are an airdresser. You place her right instead of just say everything come we open. We are open. Come you know uh what's this say again?
Your mom will not die. I'm not money.
Just it go work. Follow Jesus style.
Tell follow Jesus style.
What do girls need? They want to look good. Even though they don't want a boyfriend, they want a boy to call them.
You get it?
So, how can you integrate that particular perception into what you're selling? You create content around it.
You know, you tell stories. There was this girl she you know she goes out and you know when she came to play outside you know she told me that 20 boys you know started collecting on the street doesn't have to be real but I'm not saying fake it to but I'm saying give what belongs to all right follow me I'll make I'm going to move from this point but the point here is that Peter is a fisherman how best can Jesus communicate what the idea he
