India sends its largest-ever trade delegation to Canada

[00:00:14]>> India hoping to build on the momentum between Narendra Modi and Marney in New Delhi last March where the two signed a series of agreements including an energy partnership. Given the trust between the prime ministers of India and Canada and the warmth of that relationship, we feel empowered.

[00:00:34]>> Negotiations are underway to sign a free trade agreement by the end of the year as both countries seek to diversify away from the US.

[00:00:42]>> It's hard to overstate uh the market potential of India. It is now the most populous country in the world.

[00:00:48]>> That potential out of reach just a few years ago. Agents of the government of India.

[00:00:54]>> In 2023, former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau publicly accused agents of the Indian government of the murder of sick activist Hardy Signer on Canadian soil.

[00:01:03]>> We have still seen no accountability.

[00:01:05]>> Many in Canada's sick community feel Ottawa is rewarding bad behavior that hasn't gone away. Canada's intelligence agency still warns India is one of the main perpetrators of foreign interference in this country. It's immoral in my opinion for our Canadian government to be dealing with individuals whose colleagues have ordered murders in Canada and it's it just boggles the mind.

[00:01:27]>> India is not the only country whose relationship is getting a reset. Jeff, a Chinese foreign minister, is also set to visit Canada on Thursday for the first time in 10 years.
