Gym Couple Showcase Themselves Destroying Their Own Careers In Real TimeAdded:
Hello. How are we? Welcome back to my YouTube channel. Do you want to hear all about this activew wear brand called Suave? They are an Australian company, very small, husband and wife owned.
Although the husband is now turning around to say that his wife is absolutely nothing to do with this active wear brand because she has pretty much imploded the whole thing. I honestly think that this is outrageous. This is one of the worst casualties of self-destruction of your own business that I have seen this past year. In a nutshell, before we get into the nitty-gritty of it, the wife was caught making fun of a guy in the gym who was using a rowing machine.
In the caption, it said something a bit like, "I didn't realize that this was a technique." or tagging someone else and saying we need to switch up our technique with a laughing emoji. She is the face of a active wear brand. This is never going to go down very well. Let's talk about it cuz bullying is never okay. So, we have three things. We have Suave, which is their activew wear brand. It says clothes that keep up with busy lives. Comfort quality. No cringe fits. Designed by Connor and Chloe. No cringe fits. What does no cringe fits mean?
What does that mean? Because I've spent a lot of my life in active wear. And what is no cringe fits? What would that be? Let's do a fit check really, really quick. Okay, so we've got the charcoal in the lift shorts. We've got the charcoal with the halter lift top. And then I've also just double laid it with the white one as well. Okay, I'm just going to do a really quick fit check.
Okay, so we've got the cherry red halter on. We've got the white halter and then we got the cherry red lift shorts. Are we talking about the butt scrunches? You know those those uh short shorts and the leggings that had have kind of highlighted and they have the scrunch in the middle. We talked about that. What does no cringe fits mean? I believe that these guys are my age.
I'm 30 this year. Could be wrong. Maybe this is just lingo that I'm not getting.
Designed by Connor and Chloe. So we have Connor and Chloe who are newlyweds.
They're husband and wife. And if you have a little look through their sw page, you would be a little bit confused. Are you like, is this the couple's page? Is this the wedding page?
I don't really know what it is. And to be fair, like the actual website is not bad. But if I go on to women's, okay, I believe that they have actually lowered the price a little bit. They were essentially charging Lululemon prices for a brand that Hey, could the quality be there? I don't know. It's not a wellestablished brand.
>> I know that the product is good. We've got 675 reviews and out of those reviews, there is only nine reviews that are under four stars. 28 of them are four stars. The rest are five star reviews. The product is [ __ ] good. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
>> It does say in terms of the material, they're lift leggings. The fabric is a mix of nylon and spandex. When I did a little bit of googling, it does come up and say that spandex, for instance, is not the cheapest of materials. Okay, it's not the cheapest. It's not 100% cotton, but yeah, I mean, a pair of leggings is 44, but originally they were not. They were charging Lululemon.
>> Every single garment designed with intention. And we design everything from the ground up. So, it's not just another catalog [ __ ] [ __ ] where you just slap the logo on. Everything is actually from us. Everything is designed with love, intention, and the hope to build something high quality and long-lasting.
>> And you might be wondering like, Amy, why are you taking us down this garden path of how expensive their stuff is?
Because last month, was it uh Connor, the guy in charge of this whole situation, he came on and he was going, "My business is failing and I don't know why.
>> My active wear business is currently failing and I have no idea what to do anymore. I've been embarrassed to make this video for the longest time and I don't know what else to do. We've been this [ __ ] close to quitting because this [ __ ] is hard, man. We are struggling. By posting this video, I'm hoping that some guru sees it and makes like a breakdown video and goes through Suave and just gives me all the nitty-gritty and gives me all the constructive criticism that we need to sort of maybe make it better and improve because that is all I want to do.
Product is good. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. The website looks good. The social media looks good. We've got a big following. It just doesn't make sense that we're not doing really well. Like, this [ __ ] is hard and I'm ready to take on any criticism or any construction that we caning do before I'm ready to give up on this business because this [ __ ] is hard.
>> It's obviously brought a lot of attention to Suave cuz everyone was like, let's be honest, Australia especially. I'm not an Aussie, but I can imagine that the Australian active wear market is freaking huge. It must be absolutely booming. There must be a person every single week going on company's house registering their nylon leggings. Do you know? So, to be honest with you, you're going to have a lot of competition. This is a great way of farming engagement, by the way. You could lie and say that your company is failing and it's not really failing, but it will have people curious about the company. People will then click on it and might even buy something. So, do you know what I mean? I feel like it's a win-win. Either that or you're going to get a lot of really good advice. He got so many comments, but the hilarious thing is is that he was still in parts unwilling to take everything on board.
Someone said, "Your content on your activewear page is also mostly your wedding, which is amazing, but maybe keep it to your personal page, not your activewear brand." Okay. And Connor says, "Completely understand this, but it's also down to timing. my wife and I inject our personalities and the content on that page and our community was very happy for us whilst we got married content going forward will be back to suave as usual and then someone was like so you don't actually want constructive criticism >> and just so you know I've had to bite my tongue at a lot of comments because taking on criticism isn't a strength of mine but at this point I'm willing to do anything to take on advice and anything that you guys have to give back to us so we can improve >> you don't because what I'm hearing is lip service what I'm hearing is excuses is what I'm hearing. Like either take it on board or don't. We had other people that were going like, "You're charging like loads of money." Like I said, it was like Lululemon prices for like plastic. Do you know what I mean? Like how can we take you seriously when it feels like you're just a carbon copy of every other one? Some organic cotton items would be a bonus. After the microlastic dock on Netflix, a lot of people are staying away from polyester as it is all plastic and toxic. Connor says organic cotton equals really high minimum order quantities. Really hard for a small business to do. All well and good. I don't bloody make the leggings.
I don't know. I don't really know a hell of a lot about fabric other than what I've learned through covering this kind of drama on Tik Tok. organic cotton or even just things which are made with more cotton. Yes, it would be more expensive. I do think that if you do have the money to do so, obviously investing in some items which are going to be of much higher material would probably be the best option. But once again, alas, it ain't nothing. And when people are commenting that it's such a saturated market, he says Australian active wear market is a 12 to$15 billion a year market. It's not saturated.
There's just more options now than there ever has been. I just need to work out how SW how suave comes out on top.
Which is this not the definition of what oversaturated means? It's not oversaturated.
There's just way more options. You could say the same thing. People say the same thing about YouTube all the time. They go, "Ah, YouTube's a really, really, really saturated market. There are a lot of people uploading content." But then you have to make sure that yours is the absolute best to stand out from everyone else's, which is what I think is what he's trying to say. Even if the quality is there, I wouldn't know. I'm not interested in spending I think they said free shipping on orders over $120 or whatever, which still would mean I'd have to spend over $120 on clothing. And I can't guarantee how good it's going to be. But I know that my Lulu's my Lulus are for life, right? I love my Lulu.
>> Free shipping. It's so obvious. We make people pay $200 before they get free shipping. So, we've lowered it. $120 is what we can do so that from a business perspective, we can still say feasible and actually hold a little bit of a profit margin. So, what ends up happening is that Connor comes out and he says that he is aware of a video that is going viral of his wife Chloe posting on her stories about this guy on a rowing machine.
>> Time to address the video that Chloe posted to her personal Instagram story the other day. If you don't know me, my name's Connor Wright. I own Suava Activeware and Chloe Wright is my wife.
I own the business. She helps out while I'm away working 502 in1 roster. I did really want to wait until I was home with Chloe to be able to make this video because she really wants to apologize.
But my community means the world to me and you guys deserve an explanation.
>> The fact that you are the face Chloe is the face. Okay. So is Connor of an active wear brand. You guys come on.
And she is bullying this man who was on a rowing machine. Okay. Her apology is worse. But the fact is is that he came out before she did. And he veinently denies that she owns the company, owns a part of the company. She she she just helps out when he's at work.
>> I own the business. She helps out while I'm away working 502 in one roster.
>> On the website, it literally says that we are Chloe and Connor, founders of Suave. So evidence number one. Over here it says, "Hi, I'm Connor. Hi, I'm Chloe.
We own Suave Active Wear together. Ah, there's more.
Oh, but there's more. So, it's really convenient how she is she is the owner when it suits you that she's the owner, but when she puts herself in controversy by imploding your fitness apparel brand, then suddenly it's a issue. Now, to give a bit of backstory to the situation that's happened on the weekend, she has gone out for dinner with her family and while sitting down at dinner, they could see into a gym. In the gym, there was a man that looked like her twin brother that did rowing in high school and he was using a different technique on the rowing machine. She has non-consensually videoed and posted this man to her story with the caption, "Turns out we have been doing the rower wrong all these years." He says that this is his first time operating a business and it's their first time living on this planet.
>> Has been screenshot and then shared on a group called Tea Time and also posted on Joey Swall's Instagram story. I'm not on here to excuse the behavior. She understands that what she did was wrong and she is truly sorry. People think Suave's a big team and it's not. It's just me and Chloe helps out. I am dealing with business for the first time myself. It's my first time living. It's her first time living and in the public eye things hit differently and we really need to be more cautious of what we pose.
>> No, no, no. I genuinely I'm going to say this right now. I genuinely don't feel like these guys really care about um fitness or sport clothing or anything. I think they saw that it was a booming business and it's relatively, you know, it's accessible. you can get fabric, you can get material, and you're both good-looking, and you can both model it yourself. Because people were saying like, "We want diversity. We don't just want to see Chloe modeling the same thing again and again and again." Um, that I think that's what their thought process was because there ain't no way you can say that you really care about fitness cuz the whole thing is with fitness and exercise is that it brings people together. It it has the ability to bring people together, people from all walks of life, every ethnicity, every body type, every person. It has that ability. Okay? And um one of the things that people like doing is wearing nice outfits. So if you're going to be the face of a company that supposedly really cares about health and well-being and all of that, how are you bullying a man on a rower?
Every single day I work to take on the feedback of our community and continue improving and making it a better product for you guys. Like when we first launched there was a lot of unhappy people that we only went to size large.
The very next launch we went up to extra large and now some products we go up to three extra large. For some going to the gym is a no thought process. It's not scary. It's not daunting. But for some it's a very scary place full of judgment and everything like that that it takes a certain amount of vulnerability and we have violated that trust when you do go into those public space and we truly understand that. A few weeks ago I was the most v vulnerable I have ever been in my entire life looking for advice and looking to you guys for guidance. The insane community that you guys are you all came together you gave advice. You gave feedback. purchased and you supported and interacted and helped the business so much and we are eternally grateful and we are extremely extremely sorry that we have disappointed you guys with a poor taste joke like this. This is my first business and I am learning every single day but this has been a major major lesson and we truly hope you can accept our apology.
>> This is our very first time working in business. We didn't know that you couldn't bully people. The fact that he's saying Mhm. We need to be more cautious over what we post. I'm really sorry, Connor. And the funny thing is is that Chloe didn't say anything for a little while, but everyone was obviously commenting on her things. And one of her most recent videos was her saying that it doesn't cost anything to be kind.
>> Guys, genuine question. If you're someone that like leaves rude comments and like hate comments and all that [ __ ] on people's videos, do you like do it and then sit there and then do you think that the other person, for example, like if it was me, you write the hate comment like you're ugly. Do you expect me to sit there and be sad? Because I'm going to tell you right now, nine times out of 10, I'm laughing because some of them are pretty funny. I'm not going to lie, some of them are pretty funny. The other time though, I read them and I'm like disappointed. To be honest, I'm disappointed because I wasted my [ __ ] time. If you're going to go to the embarrassment of opening up TikTok, going on someone's video, typing it out, put some thought into it. Put some thought into it because sometimes I read it and I'm like, waste my time. Firstly, this is my channel. This is my show.
This is Chloe show. I will reply back to the hate comments because I think it's funny. But if you're going to get butt hurt, then I don't know, maybe like write the hate comment and then just say like don't reply. Um, just know that I think you'reing though. So, uh, yeah, I just really need to get that off my chest. Thanks, guys. You're telling people to think before you comment. And it's so funny because it's those people.
It's those people that come on and start ranting to everyone about how you need to be nice to people and how all these keyboard warriors, they are the very first people to get called out for stuff like this. It's always the ones that are like, "Oh, I'm a girl's girl." Or, "Oh, you know, I really care about everyone.
I'm such a nice, lovely person." Those people who openly admit to that usually, nine times out of 10, are the first people that will get called out for doing something a bit like this. And the fact that she thought that it was an okay thing to post on her stories.
A, stop filming people without their consent. And B, like, who cares what someone else is doing? Like the fact that people are so preoccupied of what other people are doing is ridiculous. I couldn't care less what you're doing on that rower. I couldn't care less what you're doing. As long as it doesn't hurt me or other people around you, I don't care. You go and do it. But obviously she she does care. She is deeply invested in it. Because her apology, the reason why I'm going quite hard on her, right, is because her apology was perhaps the most robotic.
Oh, it was really bad. It was kind of the opposite of clean. Zero uh voice change, zero charisma, zero personality.
Nothing went into this whatsoever. In fact, I think it was about 15 to 20 seconds. So, I'm just going to play it for you. Sure, we've all seen the video by now, and I do apologize. It's taken me a few days. I just needed some time to stop and reflect. To be honest, I owe you all an apology. I took a video of someone in the gym just doing their thing, and it was thoughtless and stupid. And to be honest, it never should have happened. I'm sorry to everyone that I offended and to the SW community. I am really sorry for letting you guys down. I will do better. The gym is a very vulnerable place and I did violate that. I promise you I have learned from this and I hope you guys can accept my apology.
What was that? Like I said, it was literally the opposite of Colleen. I'm Colleen's was bad. I'm talking about Colleen Ballinger, by the way. Um cuz I see everyone always compares as soon as they see a really [ __ ] apology they're just like uh should have bought out the ukulele. You know what I mean? But in this case I actually think it would have made things better because that was just an awful apology. So one commenter wrote next up 50% off sale on all products promo code learn to row. It doesn't sit right with me that a 30-cond apology is cut into five edits. You know what that's so right. I really I would have thought that I would have noticed that, but that did not didn't think about it. So disingenuous. Definitely won't be supporting the brand now. Someone else said, "Oh, wow. This reminds me of my 12-year-old when forced to apologize for being a brat. The most emotionless and robotic apology of 2026.
Oh god, absolutely disgusting. I hope no one supports this business. There are so many good active wear businesses we can support. Bullying is not okay." Yeah.
Oh god. Because the thing is is that none of them are actually taking accountability for doing this. In fact, they are off um arguing the toss in other people's comment sections. I came across this person right here.
>> So, she filmed him from really far away and then tags someone else. And it's like, turns out we've been doing the row wrong for years. Um and I was like, ew, that's gross. Um, and now I've already heard of a couple girls who tried to comment on the brand's um, Tik Tok and they've been deleting the comments and they blocked her. So, won't be buying from that brand, but I can already feel that it was just a joke. We didn't mean it coming. So, batt down the hatches who was covering uh, this situation a couple days ago. And Connor is out in the comments being like, "We did an apology video, guys. We we did one. it just to tick it off. Nah.
I mean, I got this impression. Was I biased because I came across the drama before I came across the brand? Maybe.
Yeah. But they do just it it it reminds me of any other like fitness influencer turn fitness business activewear brand. That's it. It's like an influencer decided to get an idea for doing an activew wear brand and this is what we came up with. That is what I'm thinking. I just get this idea that they don't actually care as much about this as they are letting it on and they just don't want to see it as like a failed venture.
>> Ask for some advice as to why this brand name right here is currently failing. We got a lot some terrible, some really hurtful, but a lot of really amazing stuff. I just feel like we are really losing the plot when it comes to posting on social media and what is okay to post and what isn't. The fact that these are owners of a brand who is supposed to be about supporting other people through their health and well-being allegedly.
Um the fact that you are openly mocking people who are trying to better their own health is quite frankly disgusting.
And I yeah I'm not a fan of it. I don't I think both of them were trying to avoid accountability. He was just deflecting onto her and at one point saying, "Oh yeah, no, it was because she saw she saw like it reminded her of her twin brother or something." That's not an excuse.
That's not an excuse. It was instant deflection. And it's because they are scared of their business falling apart, which I mean, it wasn't getting much traction. It's going to get even little traction now. So, whatever. But that's pretty much all I had to say to you guys. What do you feel about that?
Crazy. H. But thank you so much for watching today's video. I hope you guys have a wonderful day wherever you run this world. Do you take care of each other, take care of yourselves, and I will catch up with you guys in the next video.
