Lagos, Nigeria, is Africa's most developed mega city with a population of 11-12 million people, featuring modern infrastructure including the Lagos Blue Line transportation system, tall buildings like NECOM House (currently the tallest in West Africa), and prestigious districts like Ikoyi, which is the richest district in West Africa; the city demonstrates that African governments can build modern mega cities and is now Africa's fifth largest economy, richer than many African countries including Ghana.

This is the Lagos the media don't show us. Nigeria is developedAjouté :
Okay guys, so today we'll be taking a look at Lagos street view. Like you know, Lagos is actually one of the most developed cities we have in Africa and it stands out as not just the most developed in Nigeria but in the whole of West Africa. So today we are going to drive through the streets of Lagos and to look at how beautiful this part of Lagos look like. And you let me know what you think about Lagos in the comment section. So let's take a look at this.
Like Lagos is giving this like the first impression of this video is very positive. Like you see the structures you see in Lagos, you won't find in most West African countries. So this like Ikoyi Yeah, I think this is the Ikoyi district. You know the Ikoyi district is the richest district in West Africa and it stands out as the most beautiful as well.
Now Lagos is a mega city with a population of about 11 to 12 million people. That's more than the population of many African countries. So Lagos still faces many challenges like a mega city like waste management, traffic issue, crime and many other. But you don't just judge a city based on the negative side of things. Like me, I'm someone that always look both the negative and the positive side. Look at that view.
Oh my gosh. Let me let me capture that again.
On a I want to capture the like the central business district of Lagos. I want to show you guys what it looks like.
Like the roots like this roots is very beautiful.
This should be the third mainland bridge.
Look at that view.
This this is this should be Victoria Island.
I hear like So, this the central business district of Lagos is one of the largest central business district we have in Africa. There's a lot of commercialization going on here and this area of Lagos it contains most of the city's uh top financial institutions like the United Bank for Africa, Union Bank, First Bank, and trust me this place is beautiful.
So, if you've been watching my videos, you you you notice might be familiar with this building by now. This is the Famfa Tower. It's owned by the richest woman in Africa. And look at that view.
But this this part of Lagos I don't know why they don't bring it to the media.
Like look at the from transportation to structures like Lagos has everything.
Like look at This doesn't even look like a typical African city. It's giving like the European standard or the American standard.
Yeah, I will use American standard because like those area those those part of the world they are very developed.
So, seeing a city like Lagos I'm really impressed because Lagos is a testament that an African government can also build a modern mega city.
Look at that.
I really love this part of Lagos. If you've been opportune or if you've gotten the privilege to use the train in Marina, oh my gosh, you're going to see a very perfect view of what Lagos central business district looks like. Like it's extremely beautiful, I must say.
Like the roads, the rail uh like it's just so mind-blowing.
So, when people come online saying Lagos is not developed, like I really want to know your definition of development because yeah, um Look at that church. That's the Cathedral Church of uh Cath- Yeah, the Cathedral Church of Christ in Lagos. It's actually like to me it's the most beautiful building in the central business district of Lagos.
And that tall building that you see is the Union Bank headquarters. It's the tallest one of the tallest building in Nigeria and it stands out as a very iconic landmark in Lagos Island.
Look at that.
Look at life.
I just can't believe that this is Lagos.
Like honestly, this is beautiful.
And this is the Lagos Blue Line, the most or one of the most advanced means of transportation in Africa.
So, it moves all Lagosians daily.
Easing congestion and time on time wasted on traffic.
It's very clean like it's standards.
This is standard development. So, you see that building you see there with the very long antenna? That's like currently the tallest building in Nigeria. It's called NECOM House. Like although the one in Abidjan has not been completely completed yet. So, for now it is the tallest building in West Africa until the F Tower in Abidjan is completed. That's when it's going to overtake that building. But, for now that building remains the tallest building in West Africa.
Like the structures, like oh my gosh.
Look at glassy buildings. Ah, but like I don't think like I think we should really be showing more of African cities to the world because the Western world they they still think that Africans live in huts. Like usually they visit Africa, they go to places like Makoko, Kibera and other slums across Africa. They don't come to places like They don't want to show their their people what Africa actually looks like or how Africa is coming up so massively.
They are scared of showing this part, but we are here to show you the realities of Africa because this is African reality.
Look at that view.
Like this is very beautiful, I must say.

And to my returning subscribers, thank you for always coming back. I love you guys so much.
So also, do me a favor. Comment where you're watching this video from, which part of the world or which part of Africa you're watching this video from.
And also, you let me know what you think about Lagos, Nigeria. Is Lagos a city you would love to visit or is it a city you would love to live in or is it a city you would love to invest in? Let me know in the comment section. And what do you think is the future of Lagos in the next 10 or 20 years? Do you think Lagos is catching up with many Western cities?
And trust me, this is Africa's mega city, like So, Lagos is not all about traffic. If you want to see the better part of Lagos, you will see it. If you want to see the worst part of Lagos, you're also going to see it. But here in African reality, we show you everything, both the positive, both the negative. We don't hide anything from you. So, this is the beautiful part of Lagos, and trust me, this part is very beautiful.
And another thing I've noticed about the street of Lagos, this part of Lagos, is that the streets are very clean. Like you don't see trash along. So, this part is like this is Ikoyi. It's actually the richest district in West Africa where you find most top prestigious or institution Nigeria and some prestigious neighborhood. So, it stands out as the richest district in West Africa and as well as the most developed. So, note the the CAF award that has been awarded to to Nigeria. I think like it's going to be hosted here in Lagos.
And we are going to see more of Lagos in that award.
I think they are going to host it in a national theater or what you call Wole Soyinka's National Theater, the largest theater in Africa with a capacity of 5,000. So, that's the largest in West in Africa located here in Lagos.
So, they're having a little hold up there.
So, this building by the side, like this this building has this beautiful design just by the side. Like I said, if you watched my previous video, this building was designed by a South African. Yeah, it was designed by a South African and I really love that Africans are what And also, if you if you if you've noticed very well, this part of Lagos, you don't see the kekes. You only see like those bikes you see are not commercial bikes. They are dispatch riders. So, they're on delivery. So, you don't see mostly anyhow common public means of transportation in this part of Lagos.
You see more of private transportation and as well as some advanced means of transportation. So, this side of Lagos is like really really organized and mostly So, you can see KFC there. I Yeah, I used to think like they don't a lot of KFCs in Nigeria because Nigeria they have their own uh food brand. That's Chicken Republic, Kilimanjaro, and many other uh local food brand. That's uh KFC.
So, but there there there are more of Nigerian brand in Nigeria than foreign brand. Yeah, you don't see a lot of KFC in many other cities. Maybe you'll can find it in places like Abuja or Lagos.
But when it comes to other cities like Port Harcourt or Lagos uh Uyo or Calabar, you don't see a lot of those foreign brands. You tend to see local brands. So, Nigerians they promote more of local brands than foreign brand. I really love that.
Unlike in many of African countries where you see more of foreign brands like you don't see their own local brands which like I don't think that that's that's a very good thing, but it's also good to promote foreign brand, but what is yours is yours. So, it's very important to promote more of what is yours than what is a foreign.
So, if you want to if you if you are talking down on Nigeria only on the negative part of things you see on on the media, I think they really need to visit Nigeria to see things by yourself that Nigeria or Lagos is a very beautiful place.
So, this should be like a hotel.
Federal Palace.
Uh so, this is a hotel, one of the largest hotel in Lagos.
So, this is a very perfect street view of Lagos.
Like very clean. Like honestly, let's be realistic to ourselves. Like this is beautiful. This is Like look at those structures.
Look at that. Like just they they are lined up. So, this part of Lagos is like well planned.
Yeah, this part is very is well planned and I really love it.
See, Nigeria is a big country, honestly.
I I don't I don't love it when people talk down on Nigeria because of one or two or negative thing that the media show.
Like, it's really crazy.
So, like, to completely judge a country that you haven't visit, like African cities are catching up, like they are catching up. You know what Africa Africa has gone through a lot from post-colonialism to pre-colonialism to civil war, to a lot of exploitation, and that is still going on till today, but Africa is rising, building modern infrastructures to match up with global standard, like I'm really impressed by it, honestly.
Like I'm Like this is beautiful. This is beautiful. This is beautiful, I must say.
Drop where you're watching this video from. I really want to know where most of my viewers are from.
As I know, my top viewers are from Nigeria, US, and uh South Africa. So, let me know in the comment section so that I I take data.
Oh, I love Lagos. It's Olamide Baddo, I love Lagos. Go and check out that song.
Lagos is a beautiful place.
Like, the streets are so like so clean.
I just can't imagine what this place would look like at night, like Look at that.
This one is is giving like is giving this this Dubai atmosphere. Yeah, like it's giving this Dubai or Mhm.
Doha in Qatar. He's giving that atmosphere.
Cuz like they don't show us this part of Lagos, so they don't show us this part of Lagos.
They keep showing us the Maroko, the like the bad side, the traffic.
But they will never show us this part.
They're hiding it from us.
So that we'll know say Africa is rising up. Of course, Africa, look at that view. Look at that.
Just take a look at that. That is beautiful, I must say.
And it's really unfair to try to compare Lagos to any city in West Africa, like Lagos does not have a match in West Africa. Yeah, you can compare it to the cities like Nairobi, it's okay. You can compare it to cities like Johannesburg, it's okay, but not any city in West Africa. It's really an unfair comparison. But I'm not saying uh West Africa does not have her other beautiful and developed cities. Of course, West Africa has a lot of beautiful, developed cities like Dakar in Senegal, Accra in Ghana, Abuja of Nigeria, Conakry of Guinea, Cotonou of Benin Republic, Lomé of Togo. So there's a lot of developed cities in West Africa as well. So I'm really impressed many cities coming up so much in Africa, not just in West Africa, but across the African continent. I'm really impressed that Africa is heavily investing in modern infrastructure.
So the world thought they've left us left us behind, but no, we are not behind. We are catching up.
We are catching up with the rest of the world.
Hope you'll book your next flight to Lagos. Like you need to explore this beauty. Like you need to. Don't just believe on what the media is showing you about Africa. They keep telling you Africa is poor, Africa will live in hot, but that those all those things is a propaganda to like continue to colonize our mind. They colonize our land and they want to they are looking for means to colonize our mind. So, you should not believe to the Western media. Africa has grown beyond that stage that used to show you and you believe it. Africa is rising every day with modern infrastructure to catch up with the rest of the world and we are meeting up already.
From railways to modern airports to modern buildings, skyscrapers, everything, sporting facilities, we have it now in Africa. Despite all the exploitation, they thought we're not going to be to to be able to rise again, but look at us in just like 60 years from independence, we have achieved this much. So, what do you think Africa will look like in the next 100 years because imagine countries like America that like 200 years old, 300 years old. Africa is just like 60 something, 50 something since independence. So, we are meeting up massively with the rest of the world.
So, I must applaud the government of Africa, the African government, they are doing a good job.
So, according to the president of Nigeria in the in Kigali, Rwanda, he stated that Lagos is now Africa's fifth largest economy. Like making like Lagos has the fifth largest economy in Africa.
That means Lagos is richer than about 29 No, like 49 different African countries.
Yeah, or 40 something different African countries. So, you see Lagos is not just like ordinary African city. Lagos is a big mega-rich city, like richer than many African countries, including Ghana.
Yeah, Lagos is richer than Ghana as well. It has a larger economy than Ghana.
And that's it. Lagos is a very big city.
So, let me know what you think about Lagos in the comment section. Will you be visiting Lagos very soon? Like, Lagos is a place Lagos is not a calm place.
It's a place of vibes, energy, loudness, like noise. So, Lagos is that type of city where like it's not a city for introvert. If you're an introvert, don't visit Lagos. Go to Abuja. So, Lagos is a place of vibes and energy. So, let me know what you think about Lagos. This Africa's beautiful mega-city that is catching up with top cities in the world. Drop it in the comment section.
Let's discuss it together.
