The video provides a sharp critique of how corporate profit-seeking is hollowing out the creative heart of professional wrestling. It highlights the disturbing trend of prioritizing executive bonuses over the very talent that defines the industry's cultural value.

Yeah, bro. If the New Day left, things must be really bad. Yeah, man. In my eyes, the New Day were one of the untouchable talents within the WWE. But here's the thing. I thought the same thing of our truth last year and TKO and WWE were willing to kick him to the curb. Luckily, we voiced our displeasure loud enough where they were kind of forced to bring him back, but it doesn't change the fact that they still saw him at one point or another as expendable and were willing to get rid of him. I really thought that somebody like our Truth was untouchable. And I honestly thought the same thing about the New Day. I thought that the New Day were absolutely going to be lifers in the WWE. You already had Kofi Kingston being there for a freaking lifetime, 20 years, and Xavier Woods being there since like 2010. On top of that, being an integral part for the outside of wrestling endeavors that WWE has like their up down YouTube channel, giving the WWE and Xavier Woods a major foothold and an outside industry with a major ceiling like gaming. So, if we're at the point where WWE and TKO are willing to get rid of our truth and willing to get rid of other cornerstone pieces like the New Day, then anyone and everyone is fair game. And we're seeing this across the board with all of these rumors and speculations and reports that a bunch of people are being asked to take 50% pay cuts. Are you kidding me? I I don't work a real job anymore, but I did for many years. If my boss came up to me and tried to offer me 50% off, um, I'm taking a dump on his desk and leaving.
TKO is really slashing and gushing every single uh, expense that they can because right now they are trying so hard to outdo last year's revenue to be more profitable than last year. The big difference is that last year they had the giant John Cena retirement tour that was making the money hand over fist in every city that they went to and it even gave them a massive massive gate in a month of December where they usually do not do very well. So now TKO is probably scrambling trying to figure out how can we be as profitable as last year without having a major draw like a John Cena retirement tour. The thing is they're not going to have a major draw like the John Cena retirement tour. So they're resorting to this slashing and gutting the talent and and any sort of of I guess piece that they seem to be or deem to be even a little bit expendable. This is a a a bad period, man. It is a bad period right now. It kind of feels like TKO is is slowly but surely killing the thing that I love and that we all love.
Ricky's debut was not great. supposed to say no pop, botch promo, no charisma, loss in the debut. Okay, I'll give you no pop. I cannot give you botched promo.
I don't recall him botching his promo. I definitely can give you cannot give you no charisma. And yeah, okay, he lost in his debut. He went up against Cody Rhodess, okay? Like, let's just make that abundantly clear. I think for me, the problem isn't his debut. For me, my concern is his followup. What do you do with him now that you already had him lose to Cody Rhodess? There's like nothing for him to do on the main roster right now. The midcar titles are busy.
Um, anybody else that uh he could have been feuding with seems to be gone from the WWE now. Uh, Cody has already instantly moved on to Gunther. So, after his debut, I have a hard time placing where they're going to put a Ricky Saints. That to me is the real concern.
I miss clean rings. All right. So, this was uh something when it was originally announced that uh you know they're going to start putting advertisers on rings that I really didn't care about. Uh it just it it didn't bother me. You know, like seeing this photo here, it it honestly does not bother me. But I do think that this was the slippery slope.
I do think that once uh an inch was given, TKO took a mile. Again, I still don't mind this, but I do think that this is where it all kind of began, where it all started, where we just started getting ad slop just cranked down our throats to the point where it just flat out ruined the show that we all look forward to the most every single year in Wrestlemania. The show that hardcore fans uh stick around for and the show that casual fans come back for. Ads ruined it. And I think it it started here. This was where the first snowball was rolled down the snow mountain and we're where we're at today now because of it. Seth Rollins is so much better than Roman Reigns. I don't know why it's even a debate. I mean I mean it obviously like depends on like what you want to look at and what you want to measure uh in terms of his overall popularity and uh you know how much money he draws. I I don't think that he holds a candle to Roman Reigns.
You know, you can be the biggest Seth Rollins fan, but you have to admit that in terms of in ring, like, duh.
Obviously, Seth Rollins is significantly better. When it comes to character work, I think it all really depends. I think that part is entirely subjective. Some people really love the over-the-top character that Seth Rollins can be and how maniacal he can be and manipulative, and some people love the stoic, angry uh Roman Reigns. But I'm not willing to say that one is particularly so much better than the other. I really think that u they both bring their tremendous amount of value at whatever it is that they're wanting them to use them for. I think WWE is very good at utilizing and deploying both of these guys at the best of their capabilities. Dang, this looked awful. Uh the the soul Ruka, you know, botched uh soul snatcher. I mean, listen, it's not really that big of a deal. Um yeah, she slipped, but she fixed it and she fixed it real well. And honestly, what she did was really impressive because normally this move is supposed to be from the middle rope and she fixed it by just simply doing it off the bottom rope, which is so insanely impressive. I think she salvaged it. It could have been worse. I'm willing to move on from this and I'm not going to to hold this against Soruka. Do you guys actually believe this shocking Roman Reigns to leave WWE after talks with TKO collapse? No, I don't believe this, but I don't think it's an impossibility for it to happen somewhere down the line. uh we have seen that there is nobody that is untouchable obviously like Roman Reigns and Randy Orton and Cody Rhodess and and the CM Punks of the world they're a different conversation they're a different breed of business that they bring to TKO but at the end of the day if the numbers don't make sense to TKO I don't think that they're married to any name regardless of whether you're Roman Reigns or you're a Tazawa I I think at the end of the day everybody is a number on the spreadsheet and if the numbers don't make sense to them. They're willing to part ways with you. And I don't think that Roman Reigns is is is immune from that. I think it's going to be harder for the numbers to not make sense. I'll say that. But it the second they don't make sense, I can see TKO doing whatever they need to do to get rid of Roman, which is kind of like an insane reality to live in, right? Like just saying that out loud and not sounding stupid because I don't think it's a stupid thing to say out loud that Roman Reigns could eventually leave the WWE because the numbers between him and TKO don't make sense. That is a wild reality to live IN five out of the th I'm just so uninterested in this.
>> I think it was supposed to break. There it is.
>> There we go.
>> Beautiful. Look at that.
>> That is beautiful.
>> They're just so I mean he missed it but Whoa.
>> Vanished five. Oh, there he is. That was a sneak peek of this week's Wrestling is Cool Wrestlemania week part two match club available exclusively on patreon.com/santisapp.

I'm confident that if you try even for just one month that you are going to fall in love with the content and the community. If you're already a patron, thank you guys so much for supporting us. Again, link in description, link in the pin comment, but let's get you back to the video. So, have these three just died or what. I mean, uh, when it comes to WWE television, they they may as well have.
They've all entirely disappeared. I do think that we're going to be getting Carmelo Hayes back soon. I think he's uh he's just away. Wasn't he away on a honeymoon vacation or something? I mean, I'm nervous for for Ray Phoenix. I I I really am. I really think that like he might survive the wave of releases because of how popular his brother is and maybe they'll want to uh appease Penta and not release Ray Phoenix and Ilia Dragunov. I mean, it's just so sad, bro. He's so good. Um, but again, if those numbers don't make sense, then like that you don't get the TV time. You you you don't get to have your your merch advertised, you don't get to be on PLE's, and I guess that's where Elia Dragunov is in in catering jail now.
Hey, TKO. Where is all that money going, little bro? Yeah. So, doing all of this and asking wrestlers to take a pay cut is crazy work. Yeah. Welcome to the uh the cutthrow world of capitalistic America because that that's what's happening here. Uh because it is profits over people and UFC fans will you know guys know the meme editor put it up of the guys about to be hung and the one guy goes first time. UFC fans are looking at WWE fans and saying that to us because they've already gone through this. They've gone through TKO slashing and gutting and refusing to pay uh their really big talents to uh to to keep them around and are willing to let them walk more easily. And here we are. Uh regardless of how profitable WWE is and TKO is, they just need to be even more profitable every year. So, they're down to make as much money as possible and spend as little as possible. And that's where we're at right now in this juncture with TKO. And it's actively damaging what we love, the world of the WWE. All this part-time crap. We're going to fix that. Is the stupidest thing I've believed. Yeah. So, let's talk about a breaking news. Uh Roman Reigns no longer advertise for WWE Raw shows in June. Listen, um for some reason, talking about this really triggers Roman Reigns fans. I just want Roman Reigns fans to know that I'm not coming at this from a place that as somebody that hates Roman Reigns cuz I don't. I really like Roman Reigns. I I I genuinely think he's such an amazing amazing performer and the product is so much better when he's there. But he lied to you little bro. He he straight up lied to you and and the Roman Reigns fans will come to his defense and say, "Well, no, he said that like I'm going to be full-time in the summer." June is the summer and he's literally missing the first PL of the summer at at uh in Saudi Arabia with Night of Champions.
What I think is weird about this is the fact that Roman Reigns would say something like this if he knew he was going to be gone all of June. Part of me believes that he genuinely believed that he was going to be full-time, that he was going to be there the whole time, but maybe something personal or professionally has come up that prevents him from the being there in June. He was advertised for those June dates. And now TKO has come out and said that they were clerical errors that he wasn't supposed to be advertised for those dates. Then I have to ask if you these is if this is a clerical error. If he wasn't supposed to be ADVERTISED FOR THOSE DATES, WHY IS HE ON THE poster of Night of Champions? Is that a clerical error? Did you do the entirety of this marketing campaign a and and graphics work on the fact of a clerical error? I'm just not buying it. I think that Roman Reigns was supposed to be there in June and now he's not. And I don't know why. And but again, this is all my speculation. Any idea on who Danous's partner will be at Backlash? Just like anybody that is not Jelly Roll. Literally anybody that's not Jelly Roll. I was getting into such good shape, bro. I was working out cardio. I work out every day nonetheless or like four or five days a week. So I I maintained myself in decent shape. But after I saw that Jelly Roll wasn't going to be part of Backlash and that they were cutting the celebrity storyline rather, I started eating pizzas again. I started eating donuts. I started eating out. I I I started to live a a much more balanced life, which means I'm no longer in the right physical and and state of mind to be oiling up. So, I just hope it's not jelly roll. Uh I know that they tease somebody that likes money or something like that. So, it could be like a like a Shane McMahon would be kind of wild, even kind of interesting, too. Uh, considering the last time that we saw him was against The Miz when his quads just absolutely exploded on him at WrestleMania 39. Um, Jelly Roll or Shane McMahon, it could be somebody that's complete overkill. It could be like a CM Punk or an Obam too. Which wrestler is like this? Okay, so like a badass heel and then like a bad baby face. I I would probably go with the Miz. It's funny because he can kind of be both as a heel just kind of like how he is. But I I think the the Miz is somebody that everybody kind of unanimously agrees is just infinitely better as a heel. I'd be happy, too. What does it say? Johnny Gargano after everyone quit because TKO wanted to lower their pay and they offered him $50 in Cheetos a month.
Hey man, if it leads to Johnny Wrestling climbing the top of the mountain, hey Johnny, you take that 50 bucks in a Cheetos in the freaking handshake. WWE makes budget cuts. I hate it. Great. Oh man. Ah, we're at the point where now we're making memes on budget cuts. This is great. Worst tag team division I've ever seen. It's definitely a very questionable raise your eyebrow set of champions. Uh you look at division, Logan Paul and Austin Theory, not tag team guys. You look at Damen Priest and our truth, not tag team guys. Rebella and Paige. Uh, one's a tag team specialist, but like they're not a tag team, and Paige is absolutely not a tag team specialist. Uh, so I mean, in terms of champions, it's it's Slim Pickings for sure. And they continue to gut the division even more. DIY was no longer there. Um, I mean, the Wyatt 6, the Motor City, Machine Guns, MFTt, the New Day. So, it's just getting worse and worse by the month. Oh, yeah. This this really was a salt in the wound. So, TKO CEO Ari Emanuel was paid a total of 67.4 million in 2025. TKO president COO Mark Shapiro was paid over 42.6 million in 2025. And WWE President Nick Khan received a total compensation of 24.3 million in 2025. Oh no, poor Nick Khan.
He only made 24.3 million. He so much less than all the other guys. That seems highly unfair. Yeah, this is a wild news to come out considering they are in the midst of like insane budget cuts and talent being let go and basically talent being forced out by being offered um significantly reduced contracts and they're making record profits. It's it's crazy, man. This is uh this is about as corporate greed as it gets, but like this is something that's kind of part for the course for large companies like this. This isn't a TKO exclusive thing. This is just multinational conglomerate entertainment companies to a tea. OMG, he did the thing. Oh, the the Homelander, right?
Yeah, dude. I noticed this, too. I Dude, Cody knows they call him Homelander or Cody Lander. He He must be aware. I think this was I think this was a little nod at this point. I'm going to do an open challenge. Tiffany Stratton says that she will start hosting open challenges and that she will be a fighting champion. I mean, listen, the open challenge was cool when Sami Zayn brought it back because it was a call back to John Cena. And I even kind of liked him passing it down to to Elia Dragunov and Carmelo Hayes, you know, cuz there was like a lineage, but it all went back to John Cena. And then now we have the Obami open challenge and now we have this open challenge. Penta was doing open challenges for a little bit.
Open challenges are cool when there's, you know, something attached to them, but now like it's very clear that this is just like lazy storytelling, right?
like ah we we we don't really want to put the mental juices and effort to try and come up with a logical reason as to why you're out there fighting this person. So it's just an open challenge so that we can get you guys into the ring. Listen, at the very least I'm grateful that it leads to talent getting screen time that you the US Open challenge gave so many people that typically wouldn't get screen time. It got them screen time. And I'm hoping it does the same thing here. But I I can't help but point out that it it absolutely fundamentally is lazy. So, SummerSlam or Wrestlemania 43? Both work. I think the play is WrestleMania 43. I I do think that we would be remiss as fans if we don't ever get this match at WrestleMania. You know, I always point out the fact that we never got Edge versus John Cena or Randy Orton versus John Cena is a singles match at WrestleMania. I think that we would be speaking about this match not happening at WrestleMania in the same vein with the same volume. So, I hope that it's for WrestleMania, but it works at SummerSlam, too. Heck, it works at both if you want to do it. Otis chose to protect Oba from Tozawa. Yeah, man. Like people that don't know Ball thought that like, oh my goodness, Oba is gonna kill Tzawa. You don't know Ball, man. Toaoa was out there with wearing a 100% shirt.
He was willing to go 100% effort at Obami, which honestly should tell you how much respect he's got for Obami that he feels he needs to go 100%. But he would have absolutely decimated Oba Feami. It would have been the like nuclear bomb versus baby meme had he taken on Oba Fami. So Oba is lucky.
Backlash. Howen >> at backlash. Backlash at backlash.
>> Okay, thank you Dan Henen. We excited for this fresh sunrise. Holy. That's great. Is it a new day? Fresh sunrise. I like it. But listen, they they I think they should go to AW. I think they still have a lot of mileage left. There's uh some iconic tag teams uh in AW for them to have matches with. Of course, the Young Bucks, uh, the Hurt Syndicate, uh, you've got FTR over there, uh, and Cope and Christian, formerly Edge and Christian are in AW as a tag team. So, like there is so much for them to do there, especially if they bring in Motor City Machine Guns as well. So, I would love for uh, Fresh Sunrise to join AW.
Yeah, whatever excuse they come up with, it cannot justify the firing of Kyrie Sain. Okay, so yeah, I saw this. So, uh, the recent main roster cuts in WWE were reportedly age related as the company is trying to build a younger roster. Uh, so, you know, in WWE'se's credit, I see those efforts. They are getting younger.
They are pushing the newer talent. But then there's the cynical in me. you know, like I think under most circumstances I would see this and like, oh, they're trying to get younger because um they believe that, you know, they're getting too old and that they want to build new stars um and create a long foundation or strong foundation for the future with these young stars. But part of me just thinks that like going younger just means paying less because you can pay less to somebody that's newer to the main roster, that's newer to the business as opposed to somebody that's tenure that's been there for 10, 15, 20 years. I don't know that that's true, but the fact that it's even crossing my brain is kind of gross.
After seeing this, it would not shock me if they put a mask on Ivy and called her Eio. I honestly think they took too long to do this. This should have been a foregone conclusion. They should have done this the second that short El Grande Americano returned back to the WWE. Uh the cradle Armano should have been there. Los Armanos Americanos, what are they called? Uh Julio and Bruto.
Bruto is hilarious because it means idiot in Spanish by the way in case you didn't know. Pointless things that led to nothing. A Are you new around here?
Did WWE start a storyline that they didn't pay off? By the way, there's way more than just these. Like you don't even have uh Jay Uso getting attacked right before Elimination Chamber.
Remember that? And WWE doesn't want you to remember it. Jacob Fatu is training for Backlash. Dude, I I've already seen this. I saw this on social media. It's kind of insane seeing it like in this atmosphere like how fast Jacob truly moves. And I think at one point he even pulls out a freaking Horacarana which I think would be awesome for him to like truly look at that to add to his move set. Like dude, Jacob is insane in a perfect world. Yeah, I can co-sign this.
Give anything and everything even the freaking speed titles and the men's titles to Fatal Influence. These three are doing some remarkable work on the main roster. Um, and I I really hope that they continue to get this push and continue to get the limelight that I genuinely believe they deserve. Truly a shame. Oh, yeah. This is uh seeing all of the people from the tag team division that have been Thanos snap. Let's look here. So, that's uh uh that's that's Mickey, right, from the from the spirit squad. Uh or Nikki Mickey, I don't remember. Anyways, he was part of the spirit squad. What's sad is that like even the ones that are here with like the exception of the Street Profits, even they're not being used. Like Ray Phoenix might as well not be here.
Fraium might as well not be here. Johnny Gargano, who the hell knows where he is.
And with no Johnny Gargano, there's no Candace. Uh I mean, the most prominently used person here is literally in the back over there, not even part of the picture, watching his wife's match, Seth Rollins. Oh god, Cena is going to announce a new era. Yeah. So, I saw this uh John Cena tweeting, "It's official.
I'm headed to WWE Backlash after months of planning and effort. I'm so excited to break some history making news. I can't promise it'll be perfect, but I can promise that it will change the WWE experience for superstars and for fans."
Yeah, we we've talked about this already in an episode of Hot Takes, but I I just think it's going to be something related to WWE Club or Club WWE, whatever it's called. I don't think it's going to actually be history making. I don't think he's going to be announcing WrestleMania in London, England, considering they're in London, England, literally in like a month after this.
So, it would make way more sense for them to make the announcement there as opposed to in Tampa at Backlash. Maybe they are going to announce Wrestlemania and it's just going to maybe it's going to be in Tampa. Maybe it's coming back to Raymond James Stadium, James Raymond Stadium, wherever it is that the that the Bucks play. I might have said the name wrong. Uh the same stadium where they did Wrestlemania 37 and where 36 was supposed to be. Maybe they're coming back to Tampa for for WrestleMania, but I don't think it's going to actually be history making. Wild Santi at the Raptors game. Yeah, there I am. Dude, I I am a Listen. All right. I hope this proves that your boy is not some fake reactor. When I'm at sports games, I am like this. I am a vibe. Now, I may have had a few libations here as well, but like, hey, I'm trying to get the best view. I'm like, oo, ooh, ooh. Listen, I'm a good time at sports games. Are we really sacrificing Gunther's first loss just to give Cody a filler feud before Randy Orton comes back into the picture?
Um, I mean, that might not necessarily be the case, like especially if Ry's going to be gone for a long time. Or maybe Randy Orton comes back and cost Cody Rhodess the championship, which I actually don't think makes some tremendous amount of sense considering the last image that we saw was Randy Orton holding and clearly wanting the WWE Undisputed Championship. So like attacking Cody and costing him the championship so that then he can't really go after it really doesn't make him a tremendous amount of sense. But I will say I I think it's a good move to move Gunther to to Friday Night Smackdown. I don't think that that impending feud with LA Knight was particularly going to uh was going to do much for either guy. So I'm glad that they moved him over to Smackdown and that they're having him in the main event picture where he frankly belongs.
Damn, TKO moving crazy with the copyright strikes. Yeah. So, this is uh referring to uh reactors on Instagram and on just any social media platform getting hit with copyright by TKO. Um I have not been hit with copyright. I willingly deleted everything because well uh I didn't want to get hit with copyright, but uh my good friend Conman got his page deleted. Gillymania got his page deleted and other reactors uh that were doing some similar content uh had their pages taken down. I'm honestly at peace with it. If I can't ever do reaction content on Instagram, it it is what it is. I I've always said that reaction content uh is is is kind of like lazy. It's smart to do. Like if you I'm just because I'm saying it's lazy doesn't mean it's bad. Do it because it's a great way to get yourself some eyeballs on some of your other platforms. So if you are somebody that's been only doing reaction content, then I encourage you immediately to start making content outside of reactions. I'm not even saying like long form YouTube videos. It could be like Instagram or Tik Tok videos talking about wrestling, providing your opinion and actually like being transformative in some way and providing value as opposed to just reacting to WWE content because at any moment, as you can see, they can pull the rug from under us. Hopefully, my page doesn't get taken down. But, uh, I am I'm nuking it. I'm wiping it of any and all WWE reactions. Why is it happening? I don't know. I don't I don't really have the crystal ball to tell you the answers. Is it TKO trying to funnel all social media views to their pages so that they can maximize the revenue of their social media pages? I maybe I I don't know. At the end of the day, it's their content. I I I'm not going to cry over something that doesn't belong to me being claimed by the owner. I just hope that I don't lose my Instagram page.
Rest in peace, legend. Listen, out of all of the terrible things that have happened over the last couple of weeks with how much TKO just continues to just bludgeon the beautiful product that we love, the worst thing that happened all week was the death and honestly the just full-blown mutilation of GBM. I I I I wish I could attend his funeral.
Unfortunately, I I'll have to attend virtually. But I hope that they make Sami Zayn look into the eyes of the son of GBM and and understand the damage that he has caused that he has left a a a young gingerbread boy fatherless and orphaned. Where have they been? War Raiders. Uh probably just avoiding all phone calls and not reading their emails. Brothers, be careful. I'm so happy that WWE has cared about the recent NXT call-ups. I'm so happy as well. This is good news. Again, the the cynical in me is now wondering, you know, are they getting pushed because they're on cheaper contracts? It could be that. Um, it's it's it's a it's an annoying thing to even think about because it is a great thing that we're seeing these NXT call-ups getting the shine that they honestly deserve and should be getting considering we've seen in the past NXT call-ups just being called up to go to catering and then get released within four months. So, this is great. JC Majeno. And with that, uh, I am going to call it an episode. I think that is enough internet for me. Ladies and gentlemen, thank you so much for watching this episode of WWE Reddit.
I'll see you guys in the next one. Take care. Goodbye. Get out of here.
