Peace and social justice are fundamentally interconnected struggles, as wars create poverty, inequality, and economic imbalance while diverting resources from essential public services like housing, healthcare, education, and environmental sustainability; therefore, fighting against the war machine and fighting for human rights and social welfare must be pursued simultaneously as a unified global movement.

What if the fight for peace and the fight for social justice were actually the same fight?Added:
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. famously said that peace is not just the absence of tension, but the presence of justice.
What that means for us is that we don't have the luxury of separating the anti-war movement [music] from the pro-humanity movement. We have to fight against the war machine and for human rights and and [music] people's right to live in a society that lets them thrive at the same time. And that's [music] a big task and one that we have to take on collectively.
>> People everywhere wants the same things.
They [music] want affordable housing.
They want affordable health care. They want a future for their children. And [music] this future is in danger because of war. The war economy endangers [music] social security and the war economy also endangers humanity. So, the fight for peace and the fight against austerity is the same fight we are reaching. Wars create poverty, [music] create inequality, imbalance our economy, and reduce the life chances of the next generation. Surely, let's understand we don't need to be investing $3 trillion a year in arms. What we need to be doing is investing [music] in housing, in health, in education, and environmental sustainability, and bringing about a global movement for peace and disarmament. [music] We can do it, and we can give a great future to the next generation.
