Kroger sales not impressed.. everything getting expensive

[00:00:00]Good morning everyone. Today we are here at Kroger. We're going to go in, check out some of the prices on groceries, some of the things you guys have asked about. Look around, see if we can find some good deals. Let's get to it. All right, starting off with produce. They got the little personal watermelons here, the little tiny ones on sale for $2.50 each. Do not have to buy two. Use your Kroger Plus card, $2.50. And they've got the three lb bags of mandarins here for $3.99 on sale.

[00:00:31]A little bit of savings on the Driscoll strawberries. $2.99 down from 329. I will say these Driscoll strawberries are looking really good. So there's that.

[00:00:42]And then they've got the 18oz pack of organic blueberries by Simple Truth Organic. These are normally $9.99. Yeah, $9.99 on sale for $5.99.

[00:00:53]Honey crisp apples on sale this week on a digital coupon for $1.99 a pound. Use that coupon up to five times. I got this fourack of cosmic crisp apples. Looks like they're going to be a dollar a piece. $4 for these.

[00:01:09]So, if you like the private selection petite cherry tomatoes or petite medley, they've got this deal going on. It's been going on for a little I just point this out because really for what you get, it's better than any of these when these aren't on sale. But $5 for these packs of them and they are 24 oz.

[00:01:27]Looks like the 5 lb bags of Idaho potatoes by Kroger went back up in price a little bit. I mean, they were 299 for a 5B bag for a few weeks. They were 329, came down to 299, now 319. So, they're creeping back up. They've got the seedless watermelons right here on sale for $5.99.

[00:01:48]Little bit of a deal here for the petite fingerling or red or yellow potatoes.

[00:01:54]The little tiny ones here on sale for $3.50. You do not have to buy two. Just use your C plus card. 350 a bag. I did want to point out doesn't look like it includes the petite the petite sweet gourmet potatoes here. These are the sweet potatoes. The little teeny tiny ones here. Those are going to be $3.99 it looks like. But want to point out these big bags of the petite gold and petite red potatoes. These are $6 each and these are going to be £3 each.

[00:02:22]Kroger has the Cincinnati Reds peanuts here on a little bit of a sale. 12 oz bag, $2.50. However, if you don't want that much, they've got the 10 oz bag here for $1.99.

[00:02:35]Decent deal on cantaloupe here. Two for five. Although you don't have to buy two, use your Kroger Plus card. $2.50 each. Same goes for the Honeydew melons here. $2.50 each with your Kroger Plus card. Kroger still has this deal going on. 5 lb bags of Pink Lady, Granny Smith, or Fuji apples here. 5B bags for $5. That's a dollar a pound. So you can pay 167 a pepper. Or you can get them for a dollar a piece when you buy six of them. $6. Dollar a piece comes with two red, two orange, two yellow, and they got the mini sweet peppers here. This one's going to be two pounds for $6.

[00:03:17]$2.29 each for these batches right here. To be fair, celeryy's been going up everywhere. Celery and iceberg lettuce.

[00:03:35]It's rare I see 80 acre farms on sale anymore, but they are they are on digital coupon. $2.99. This is one we like right here. The Forever Summer Greens. Matter of fact, I think I'm going to think I'm going to get some of these really good stuff right here. I can use my uh my new salad dressing that I got from Tennessee for this. That'll go pretty well.

[00:03:59]Good deal on the Taylor Farms chop salad kits right here. Taylor Farms Chop Salad Kits. They got quite a few of them here.

[00:04:07]$2.99 on a digital coupon. You can use this coupon up to five times.

[00:04:13]Some okay deals here. They got the Kroger 80% lean ground beef. 3 lb flavor seal. Meat tube is what I call it. Comes down to $4.99 a pound. You got to buy in a three-lb package though. Be $14.97.

[00:04:29]$1.99 a pound. And they got the bonus chicken breast right here by Heritage Farm. 449 a pound.

[00:04:37]Okay, before we go any further, I wanted to talk about the sale that Kroger has going on this week. This is their mega sale, their mega sales event, and it is the buy two or I'm sorry, buy three or more, save $2 each. So, these going to be more pricier products most likely.

[00:04:55]But I don't know. I see uh Miracle Whip on here, too. I don't know. I mean, I guess that's pretty pricey sometimes, but look at that. They got the Hines ketchup there. Looks like $2.99 on the buy three or more, save $2 each. How this works is all participating products on this sale, you just have to get three or more all mix and match and you'll start saving $2 each. And sometimes even better than that if the product's already on sale. So, you got to pay attention to this one. Uh I'm expecting to uh hopefully find some good deals on this. I mean, I'm already seeing some.

[00:05:27]They got the 40 oz container of GIF peanut butter that's normally $7.49.

[00:05:32]This is kind of my point. $7.49 in the bottom corner, which you probably can't see. On sale for $6.99, but on the buy three or more, save $2 each deal, bringing these down to $4.99. And this Miracle Whip, I guess I I forget how expensive things are these days, but yeah, this is $6.29 regular price. $629 regular price on sale for $4.99 on the buy three or more, save $2 each deal, bringing this down to $2.99. That's pretty good.

[00:05:59]So, I guess what I should say is that we're not going to find items that are like $2 on the buy three or more, save $2 each deal. Otherwise, that product would be free. That's kind of what I meant is that it's going to be more pricier products. So, this uh craft dressing right here, 16 ounces. This is a regular sale, $2.99 down from $3.49 for these select varieties.

[00:06:24]They got the Kroger ones here that are normally $2.69. These select varieties on sale for $250. And they've got these smaller ones here. These are half off.

So, yeah, they've got a Cheeits Cheeits snack cracker select Friday. 17 to 21 ounces. 6.49 49 is the regular price. On the buy three or more, save $2 each deal brings it down to $4.49.

If you like these, 49 cents a piece down from 69 cents a piece. And I'll tell you what, that's kind of kind of the one thing that I was thinking when I saw the buy three or more save $2 each deal.

[00:08:15]There's not going to be many of this stuff on that particular sale. So, unless they put specific sales or digital coupons on some of this stuff, we may not see uh some different sales on this. But yeah, I went down this both these aisles here. I didn't really see any good deals. Nothing to really brag about.

[00:08:33]Tuna Creations are no longer on sale, guys. That is unfortunate. That's unfortunate. They are $1.50 a pack now for these select varieties. That is pretty dangon expensive. They do have Chicken of the Sea here on sale for a dollar a pack when you use your Kroger Plus card. And then they've got Bumblebee, just a regular old sale.

[00:08:53]Select varieties 99, but they also have these cans over here, which I know some of our our viewers like having these cans. These are 99 cents as well.

[00:09:21]Kroger does have the three pack boxes of Elvita shells and cheese or deluxe mac and cheese by craft on the buy three or more save $2 each deal. Bring these down to $5.99.

[00:09:35]Okay, so I had to get a a map here. I had to get the uh the ad because I've been seeing these around. So, this is part of its own thing. Okay. So, you got to get to mix and match five or more participating items, pay 99 cents each.

[00:09:52]So, this is a separate deal that Kroger has going on right now. So, we have to keep an eye out for this 99 cents here for the uh nor pasta sides when you get to the fifth item or more on participating products, which right here, these are some of the ones going on.

This was the one I saw at first, and I thought this was a mistake because the the buy five or more, save a dollar each deal was going on last week.

I mean, yeah, some of the 99 cent items that we always see for 99 cents and the buy three or more save $2 each deal. They're just so far and few between.

[00:15:52]But yeah, I'm not not finding deals on uh some of the usuals that people use every day, that's for sure.

[00:15:59]And this might be the sign of what's yet to come, guys. No sales on any orange juices or any of this stuff. Usually there's one, right? Usually there'll be one. I'm finding none. None on this, none on butter. And there's been a lot of that today here shopping at Kroger.

[00:16:18]And I don't know, it could be signs to come. That's why we always talk about stocking up on the sales as you see them cuz you're not going to find any of these orange juices on sale this week.

[00:16:28]That's for sure. I almost said, "Where's the buy three get $2 off deal on the Chabani different yogurts that we always see?" And I saw this up here. They got the ones that you the ones that you get yourself, the single packs, single ones.

[00:16:41]Uh these are on sale for a dollar. So, good deal here. And when I say good deal, um yeah, I mean that buy three or more, save $2 would have been better on the uh on the uh Chabani yogurts, but is what it is, I guess. They've got this one here, the Yo Play. This is eight cups for $349 on the buy three or more, save $2 each deal.

[00:17:06]We might just be checking the end caps the rest of the day. Here's where I've found pretty much the only well not only but some of the best sales which is where we usually find them. But they got the buy two get one free of Ago waffles here. That's pretty good deal. Then they've got the Morning Star Farms right here. Part of a buy two get one free select varieties. They also have their frozen entre by Lean Cuisine and Stoofers here. Select varieties, right?

[00:21:02]They also have cartons of Almond Breeze here on a digital coupon. Select varieties on sale for $1.99 on a digital coupon. Our milk here at Kroger has gone up over the last couple weeks. It was 299 last week for a gallon, but I didn't point it out. Just got really busy, but yep, they are up to 299. Probably going to get higher. I I know if if our milk here in Cincinnati is getting pretty high. Let me know in the comments what your milk is in some of your cities and states because usually when ours starts going up, it it was 259 for the longest time. Now $2.99. I'm curious what some other milk prices are around the country. If you are one of those that swear by bounty, well, Kroger has a good deal for you. Select varieties, six double rolls, normally a whopping $14.99.

You're not really saving much, but saving a little I guess. Uh I don't think you have to buy three on this sale. I think you can just get one with your Kroger Plus card, but who knows these days.

[00:23:00]I wanted to double check on the sticker here. Yes, you can just use your Grover Plus card and buy one for $2.33 if you wish. Almost walked right past this here. They got the Catalina Crunch protein cereal. I know a couple of our viewers that like this one and it is part of a buy one get one free, which is important because these are $7.99 a bag.

[00:24:08]I did come across these here. They got the private selection strip steak or ribeye steak. $17.99 each. $17.99 each. So, uh, cheaper than Longhorn, I guess.

[00:24:24]Now, these right here have stayed the same price. They got the grass-fed ground beef, which I know a couple of our viewers like. Threeack here. Three uh threeack. These one lb each, I think.

[00:24:34]So, is it not sure? Not sure. Yeah, 3 lb. There it is. So, you get 3 lb of the grass-fed ground beef simple truth organic for $20. And they've got the 75% lean uh which would have grease pouring out the pan. I don't know. I mean, that's probably makes for a good burger. I'm not really sure these days, but I know we usually like getting the leaner meat if we can. This is going to be 36 oz. So 22 2 lb 4 oz for $12.

[00:25:08]They've got the Gordon's huge 51 oz bags here. 51 oz bags. Normally $1379 on sale for $10 each. That's not too bad.

[00:25:20]I'll tell you what, guys. I am just going down aisles and aisles and and no sales. It's it's just I don't know. It It's kind of crazy. But again, and I know I sound like a broken record here, guys, but this is why we talk about stocking up on the sales when we see them so that we're not uh you know, luckily, you know, Jessica and I are well stocked on many, many, many Kroger items that we've gotten great deals on.

[00:25:48]This is might just be one of them weeks where we're not finding the better, you know, the best deals, I guess. So, best sale, I guess. 219 here, right, for these Swanson. Usually when this is on sale, it's $2. $2.79 regular price. $219 on sale for these select varieties of broths.

[00:26:10]Okay, so it does look like the tomato soup, chicken noodle soup, cream of chicken, and cream of mushroom it looks like, are going to be 99 cents on that.

[00:26:18]Buy five or more, get them for 99 cent each deal. Kroger did lower the price of some of their different uh fruit cups here. The fourack fruit cups. These did get up to $2.99 at one point. Now they're back to what the regular price used to be at 269.

[00:26:32]And it looks like Dole looks like these select varieties have a little bit of a sale going on. $3.29 for these select varieties down from 369.

[00:26:41]>> Well, that was our trip to Kroger to check out the different sales going on.

[00:26:44]I'll tell you what, there's not as many as we're used to seeing. We've been talking about this for a while, guys, that we may see fewer sales in the future, right? That we'll be seeing regular prices and them just sitting there probably because I don't know with gas prices, diesel prices, stuff like this. Also, don't forget to clip your four times fuel points for Friday. The digital coupon Friday shopping Friday, four times fuel points. That's hard to say. Uh, make sure you download that digital coupon so that you're saving gas so that you build up those points for your gas as well. I will say Kroger has been very packed on Friday. So, my opinion, it's good to get there early.

[00:27:19]You know, that way you're not fighting the crowds if you are able to, but yeah, there were some okay sales here at Kroger this week. Like I like I've said, not as many as we're used to seeing.

[00:27:29]And, you know, prices are going up everywhere, guys. I'm I'm hoping that uh you know some of these places that have come out and said they're going to lower some prices hopefully. You know we do see some lower prices. Do I expect it? I I never expect it. I always just look for the deals as we come across them because who knows what the prices are going to be like tomorrow, next week, next month. We have no idea. So, it's good to stock up on the sales as we see them within the means of our budget, you know, so that we're not left paying these high prices. Guys, thank you so much for watching.
