The First Fight in Prison

[00:00:00]The first fight in prison usually isn't about anger. It's about one question.

[00:00:05]Are you going to stand up for yourself or is everybody going to see you as an easy target?

[00:00:16]Now most people think people end up finding our self inside of prison fights because someone lost their temper.

[00:00:21]>> [music] >> That usually isn't the case. A lot of times it's a test. And it might be a test that you didn't even start. You didn't start it. You didn't want it. But a lot of people want to see how you're going to react when this thing gets brought to you.

[00:00:34]Take it from me. I did time in prison. I found myself in a couple situations, but that first prison fight is one that sticks with you regardless.

[00:00:42]For this video, I'm going to be breaking it down and I'm going to give you the inputs on all the scenarios of why prison fights take place and how you're supposed to get into it when it ends up being front and center on your doorstep.

[00:00:53]So let's talk about this. See, a lot of people think prison fights just randomly happen because someone lost their temper. Don't get me wrong. Sometimes that's true, but normally that first prison fight is because somebody tested you and they wanted to see how you're going to react under pressure.

[00:01:08]When you first find yourself locked up, people are going to be coming at you and they're going to be doing certain things that kind of like let's just say grind your gears. They try to get you out of character cuz they want to see if you're truly going to stick up for yourself or not. And if you don't stick up for yourself, then you're going to find yourself in a whole lot more problems than if you would have just got your ass whooped that one time.

[00:01:27]Okay? When I first got to prison, certain people wanted to test me and the way that they do it is, you know, there's little tactics. All right? Don't get me wrong, you know. Some people might, you know, say slick comments about you, you know. They might talk about you to other people and you hear about it instead of them directly saying it to you, you know, that disrespect just to see what you're going to do about it. Somebody might try to touch something that's yours or use it without asking, you know. It could be something as simple as like a pencil or a pen. You can have a pen sitting on your locker and they needed to write something real quick, so they grabbed it and they wrote something and put your pen back. That's a little thing where they're kind of testing you just to see how far it is before they cross that line of that boundary, you know, and you got to be willing to, you know, stick up for yourself if you find yourself through these situations because people are going to throw these things at you and when they do, you got to be ready for it cuz if not, then, you know, you're just opening that door for people to try you more and more and more. Me, when people first tried me, I told this before, the first time I ever had somebody come up to me and say something like kind of crazy was when I was getting transferred through the reception center and they came up to me and they asked me if I brought cigarettes with me from the last reception center I was at and I said, "Nah." They were like, "Oh, you just came from the down south bus?" I said, "Yeah." They said, "Well, look, check this [ __ ] out, you feel me? You see bro right there? That's my little brother and this his dorm right here. Anybody that comes from down south has got to pay rent, you know what I'm saying?" And I started laughing, but that was the first time somebody threw something sideways out there to me, you know what I'm saying? I had to let them know, "Bitch, I'm on whatever, you feel me?"

[00:02:59]They sent some dude at me to come up to me and talk to me. I'll never forget what he looked like. He had a five-point star tattooed on the side of his face, but it was just the outlining of it. And he came up to me and he said, "Man, we're only asking for $5. Is it worth getting stabbed over a $5?" And I remember looking dead at him and I told him, "It be like that sometimes." Which means I'm willing to get stabbed over my $5, you know what I'm saying?

[00:03:20]And that escalated into some [ __ ] or whatnot, but Frog held his own. You see what I'm saying? These are the type of things that you got to be prepared for.

[00:03:28]Not saying it'll happen everywhere you go, but if it does happen, you got to be prepared for it. You might do your whole bid and nobody ever try you, nobody ever pressure you, nobody ever confront you or try to disrespect you. Doesn't mean prison is sweet like that. Just means that you landed at a camp or an institution where there was nobody on that type of time, but trust me, it is out there. And a lot of times it isn't even just the person that you got into the confrontation with, it's the people on the outside you got to look after, too, cuz people are paying attention to see how you react, to see if you're sticking up for yourself. And whatever you do in this situation can sometimes lead to another fight, another situation. Because everybody's got friends, everybody's got homeboys, everybody's affiliated with somebody.

[00:04:07]So, before you know it, you find yourself in the mix with multiple people, okay? Now, I remember when I was at this one institution, there was this one guy that came there, and I already knew because of the dorm I was in, gangland, I already knew that as new people come here, they're going to get tested and they're going to have to fight a TOH, that first fight. And a lot of people be shaking in their boots, you know, they're scared shitless. But by the time that you get it all over with, they realize, "Damn, this ain't that bad. Now, I'm over here with everybody sitting back, kicking, and just looking at the next people that got to put up with this scary [ __ ] when they first get here." You know what I'm saying? And when he first came there, he was acting like, you know, he was walking around the dorm, trying to be cool with everybody, you know, like, "What's up, bro? How you doing? How you doing?"

[00:04:44]Like, he looked so friendly, and you would think that if you don't, you know, try to make someone your enemy, or if you don't try to find enemies, that you won't have no enemies, but that isn't the case. That isn't how it is in prison. Sometimes things just land on your doorstep, like I said. So, as he was going around trying to be friendly with all these other people and stuff like that, there was one dude sitting over there eating the soup right out of his soup bowl, and he's over here talking to everybody, being all friendly. That same dude he tried to talk to looked up at him, didn't have no rap for him, got up after he was done enjoying his soup, got up and smacked this new inmate straight across the face and said, "Don't [ __ ] talk to me, bro. I ain't friendly." Now, pause. What do you think should happen right then and there? He just got slapped in his [ __ ] Me, personally, you slap me, I might try to kill you. I'm going to chase you through this dorm. That's worse than swinging on me. You know what I'm saying?

[00:05:32]This inmate here, he thought being friendly was going to, you know, but now, he's like, "Damn."

[00:05:38]You know, he's holding his face and [ __ ] and he's like, "Man, what the What was all that about, bro? I was just trying to" You know, he's trying to talk the situation down. Meanwhile, everybody on the outside, including myself, is looking in and watching like you just let this man slap you. You know what I'm saying? He wasn't looking for it. He didn't want it, obviously, but there's time that you need to stand up for yourself. He got slapped in his face and didn't do nothing about it. So, guess what? That same guy that slapped him opened the door for other people to come up to him to extort him.

[00:06:07]You know? He tried to stand up to somebody act like he wasn't going to be extorted. Bro, you just let somebody slap you, which is worse than being extorted. So, the boys just applied a little more pressure, and before you know it, that same inmate right there was making beds, cleaning people's bowls after they were done eating. You know?

[00:06:23]They They literally took advantage of him now. All because when the time struck he folded under pressure. He let somebody smack him. I don't care who you are, I don't care how soft you are. If somebody puts their hands on you, you got to react, and you react then. That talking shit's over with, you know? He put his hands on him. But, he didn't and his bid ended up being like one hell of a bid, and the other people on the outside looking in were just other people that were going to prowl on him now cuz they seen that sign of weakness after he let the bro slap him like that.

[00:06:56]Like, don't get me wrong. When he got slapped in the face by that inmate, the whole situation only lasted like 2 3 seconds. But, it wasn't really about the situation. The people on the outside watching, you know? These are the type of things where if you don't make this move or you don't make this choice, it's going to affect you your entire bid, okay? And this is like something you need to learn. Me, my first actual fight that I got into inside of prison, I told this before, I got in a fight over Gucci Mane and Young Jeezy, okay? I took the favor Gucci. I say this every single time, and Gucci Mane don't even know me, but I took the favor, you know, old pregnant Gucci, '06 Gucci, you know what I'm saying? Not not not the Gucci Mane nowadays, but, you know, old fat pregnant Gucci. That's the one fraud took the favor. You feel me?

[00:07:42]The inmate I got into it with, which he my dog now, my dog Gator from Indiantown.

[00:07:47]He said he would smack me.

[00:07:49]You feel me? And then next thing you know, he I said [ __ ] you hit me but we going to be bumping. And he tried to jump off the bunk and smack me and I I came off the bunk also and we got into it. You see what I'm saying? And then we caught the wall and we fought. Now, if I wouldn't have did that, my bid would have been totally different. You see what I'm saying? People that came with me on that bus knew oh that white boy about business.

[00:08:11]That white boy going to stick up for himself.

[00:08:13]People that didn't come with me on that bus, that just met me there, knew that white boy right there, yeah, he's white. Yeah, he's outnumbered, but at the same time that white boy has boundaries. There's certain things that you probably get away with, certain things you probably can't get away with when it comes to that white boy. And before you knew it, I was in there fighting all the time.

[00:08:31]You know, but that very first fight like that made it where I was uncomfortable as [ __ ] You know, I I I'm not even going to lie. He was already in this dorm. I just got in this dorm. Been in this dorm maybe two, three days. You know what I'm saying? He was already here. Everybody knew him. You feel me?

[00:08:47]And it was like [music] I knew I was outnumbered. You know, I I knew for a fact that, you know, I didn't have nobody that had my back even though I went up to one of my dogs back then, my dog YG and told him to let me hold his shoes.

[00:08:59]You feel me? He didn't try to intervene and be like hold on bro, ain't no one finna jump him bro. All he said is frog, I'm a blood dog. Bloods can't get, you know, blood on their shoes. And I said man, I ain't finna get no blood on your shoes man, let me get them real quick.

[00:09:10]And then I was, you know, my my my [ __ ] was beating a mile a minute dog, but bro tried to jump off the bunk and with a smack and I like you know, we were both on top bunks facing each other and we were having argument between the two rappers, Jeezy and Gucci. And when he came forward, I went forward, you know, but I connected and he was like oh crack he hit me oh this [ __ ] You know, and next thing you know, he felt some type of way because I stole him, but what you expect? He tried to like smack me.

[00:09:37]And now it's like I got to fight him cuz I know he's going to want to fight cuz I stole him. People broke it up first, you know?

[00:09:44]So I caught the wall. Whole time I caught the wall I was nervous as [ __ ] I didn't feel no like hits. Anything he hit me with, that [ __ ] didn't feel like nothing. I would have swore he had powder puffs the whole fight.

[00:09:56]You know, that's my dog now, but because my adrenaline was going. But it wasn't just all adrenaline. I was nervous as [ __ ] I got all these people looking at me, viewing at me for the very first time. These last few days that I've been in here, yeah, people were looking at me occasionally, but you know, we weren't like, you know, the the I wasn't front and center on stage. You get what I'm saying? This time I was front and center on stage. You feel me?

[00:10:17]And me getting in there and fighting shows, okay, white boy speaking his opinion.

[00:10:24]You know, he said, "This is what happened. This ain't what happened." Bro said he would smack the white boy. White boy got off.

[00:10:31]You feel me? Then he wanted to fight the white boy after white boy got off. So white boy caught the wall, however many rounds it was.

[00:10:37]You know what I'm saying? So it kind of like painted a picture for everybody in the dorm to know that white boy probably can't whoop everybody in here, but one thing about it, you're going to have to fight that white boy. That white boy is not going to let nothing slide. He's not going to let you [ __ ] him out. He's he's not going to, you know, win, lose, or draw I'm from Broward County.

[00:10:54]>> [music] >> And we we grew up getting in there. You know what I'm saying? That's how it's been my whole life. And my whole life we seem to be like outnumbered or fighting people older and bigger than us. So you know what I'm saying? So I kind of like like me in some scary situations sometimes. And for this one here, you know, it was like something that frog had to go through with, you know? And me going through with it built my reputation right then and there. Because later on when I landed at different institutions and [ __ ] like that, not only did the word carry around me while I was in that exact prison. Course I went to confinement for phones, got out, went to a different dorm, went in there, started bumping, getting into more fights in gangland, doing all this different [ __ ] now because I had to live up to the reputation, but that's who I truly was.

[00:11:41]You see what I'm saying? So, it was like it wasn't like I truly wasn't living like that and now I got to put on like I'm living like that anytime something comes my way. No, I've always been the type to get into some [ __ ] So, I was down for whatever came with it. You know what I'm saying? So, a bunch of [ __ ] came with it eventually for people who didn't know no better who thought white boy was just [ __ ] off. And then I found myself in more stuff. And then when I eventually got transferred to different institutions, word traveled.

[00:12:04]By the time I even got to this other institution, and I'm talking about from the Panhandle all the way back down south. That's four reception centers.

[00:12:12]Boom, boom, boom, boom. Four different regions. Get down south, land in another camp.

[00:12:17]There's people there that already done spread words, they heard I was getting off at this other camp.

[00:12:21]You see what I'm saying? Like word travels. You know, that reputation kind of stuck with me. And that first fight goes a very long way. It don't matter matter what you do, you got to always make sure you believe in something, you stand on it. Cuz at the end of the day, you're a man. You're a man before anything. It doesn't matter what it is.

[00:12:38]It don't matter if you're a gang member, it don't matter if you're white, black, Spanish, just remember you are a man before anything. And you remember that at all times. And another thing that you got to be prepared for, too, is if you are somebody that is going to fight, don't think you could just go in there and mop up the floor with people. A lot of people don't like that [ __ ] You go in there and you do people in too dirty, they might jump your ass. They might stab you, get you up out of there. You know what I'm saying? Every time you decide to get into a fight, into a situation, it isn't like people are going to just leave you alone. There's other people in the shadows that are watching that I told you that pay attention from the outside looking in.

[00:13:11]And a lot of times they want a challenge, you know? So, you're going to run into some alphas. And if you end up being an alpha, fighting people, doing whatever you're doing, you know, these other alphas are looking at you like they want to test that [ __ ] There can't be that many alphas in the dorm. And this is the funny part. When you're in a dorm and say you're in there with like 90 to 120 inmates, there'll normally be about 10 of them that everybody knows is like truly with that [ __ ] When other people move into the dorm that are with that [ __ ] you can sense it. You can feel old bros in here now.

[00:13:47]Bros in here. Bros in here. You can sense that they end up being cool.

[00:13:51]Everybody be cool with each other normally. All the ones that normally like are on that [ __ ] normally are cool with each other. And it's because everybody's an alpha amongst each other. So, there's somebody in that, you know, in that wing, like in that group, that kind of like just is like they'll they'll they'll join them. You feel me? Rather than have to do it to them. But low-key, they're getting to know them more. You know what I'm saying? And it's more like they're going to find out if they're really an alpha like them or low-key that person might be scared of that individual. And they want to continue to look like an alpha to everybody else. So, they just friend that person. Like, you'll never have to worry about them fighting. Like, we'll never see that because they're homeboys.

[00:14:31]You see what I'm saying? That's how it goes. You feel me? And you could tell by who you are around the company that you attract. Okay? And what I mean by that is if you're somebody that sticks to yourself and you don't stand up for yourself whatsoever, somebody tries to fight you and you don't do it. Your first fight opportunity comes your way and you don't grasp that fight and get it over with, you're going to attract people that are like snakes, that are crooked. You know, people that are trying to always put down and be rude to you. You know what I'm saying? That are trying to take your [ __ ] and extort you. Now, if you're somebody that fought your first fight, I'm not saying everybody you attract, you know, around you is going to be like thorough people. But as you, you know, progress past the first fight, you're going to realize people who are saying what's up to you or whoever you're around, other people that are getting drawn into the circle now, you're going to notice that these are all people who were like somebodies. People that are playmakers, people that make money, people that hustle, people that nobody [ __ ] with, you know? So, you're going to realize you're kind of climbing up that ladder whether you know it or not just by the company that you attract all from getting off in that first fight. You know what I'm saying? When I got in my first fight in the county jail, same thing.

[00:15:46]My heart was going like this, but hey, I had to get in there. I've already learned to do it because I was used to it from a juvenile program, before the program.

[00:15:57]When I was in the detention center, before the detention center.

[00:16:01]You know, school. I used to get into fights in school, before school, in the neighborhood. Same thing, you know? So, it's kind of like I've always known you got to get that [ __ ] over with. I've always been the one to know my first fight in prison was going to come. I wasn't looking for it, but I knew it was going to come. I'm white. At the end of the day, dog, you know, we don't get that much love down here in Florida prison, you know? We're out numbered, you feel me? A lot of them turn to gangs, a lot of them join a different gang and stuff like that, you feel me? But if you're a neutron, non-affiliate like me, and you go to the chain gang, if your ass ain't using these, you got to either be a tattoo man or you got to be a gang member.

[00:16:33]You know what I'm saying? Or someone that draws pop-out cards or radio man or something like that, but if you ain't trying to do all that trades and [ __ ] like that, if you're just somebody that just wants to, you know, hustle, get money, especially if you want to hustle, bro, you got to know how to get in there, dog, win, lose, or draw. It isn't about the win. Sometimes it's just about how you're going to react in that situation, okay? Now, y'all let me know what y'all would do. [00:17:02]If you weren't looking for it and somebody came at you disrespectful, could you avoid that fight? Could you just turn your cheek and just go on about your business? Or no, would you have to get in there?

[00:17:35]Brazil was running through [ __ ] You know what I'm saying? And before you know it, you know, either they going to respect that [ __ ] or they going to team up jump on you.
