U.S. Dept of Education Filed Title IX violations against three Michigan School Districts
Added:[music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> And hello everyone. How you doing? It's Dave Bondi. Great to see everyone here.
We are reporting breaking news at this hour. Just coming down within the last hour, the United States Department of Education has opened a Title IX investigation into three Michigan school districts.
Now, I've been covering these school districts for quite some time and now it's official. Um three school districts and let me name them for you. I have the information right here. The Ann Arbor, Michigan Public Schools, the Monroe Public Schools, and the Chippewa Valley School District. The United States Department of Education The United States um sorry everybody. The United States Department of Education has opened investigations into these Michigan school districts over Title IX. Now, what exactly are these Title IX investigations?
They are involving athletes to participate on boys and girls athletics teams and use locker rooms based on their self-professed gender identities, according to the US Department of Education. That is coming from their news release. So, this information just coming in. Um I've been talking to the people involved in this case in in these cases and I have not yet got a statement back from the school districts involved um on how they are able to if they're responding to this as of yet. Uh the department just put this out just a moment ago.
But I want to know what you think about this. The idea of having boys playing on girls teams. And it's it they're not saying that they're boy, they're saying it's it's transgender individuals playing with the girls when they're biological males. And that's what the US Department of Education is suing about.
Um they've actually filed a lawsuit uh or not a lawsuit, but an investigation um they have filed an investiga- investigation um against these school districts.
Big deal. Actually a very big deal that's happening. Uh Chippewa Valley is under investigation.
The Monroe Public School District and the Ann Arbor, Michigan uh public school district. So, I'm going to continue uh to follow this story as it involves, but I just wanted to know what what you thought about this. Let me know in the comments below. Scott says, "Males should not play in female sports."
That's Scott over there on Locals.
Anyone watching on Substack right now, let me know what you're thinking about this, too.
Um I'll I'll give you a shout-out.
But yeah, that's happening.
Yeah, very very interesting indeed. Uh trying to see if we got any other new information about this. The Ann Arbor schools um policies allow males to compete on women's sports teams. Monroe public schools allegedly discriminated against a female students by requiring the girls volleyball team to compete against a team with a biological male.
Chippewa Valley allegedly permitted a female student athlete to use the male-only locker room. Those are the three cases that are involved. Uh and I am writing this up for my newsletter.
I'm going to be putting this out um on my newsletter. So, if everyone signed up to my newsletter, you're going to be getting that in just a little bit. Um as I as I put this as I put this out there, you're going to be getting uh that on my newsletter. So, you're going to be able to see exactly all the information detailed in these uh criminal complaints. Karma says, "It's so obvious. I can't believe we have to say men shouldn't compete against women."
That's Karma watching on Substack right now.
Thank you for that. I really appreciate that. I need you to go upstairs, please.
Thank you. Okay, so I I have I have little ones over right now. So, I'm uh I had to tell them to leave the studio.
I'm working I'm working from home obviously, and I had to have them leave the studio cuz we are live right now.
And uh I don't want to hear have them hear what I'm talking about. So, anyway, uh just looking at some of your comments here. Let's create a three sports league and let the trans compete against each other. That's according to Scott Stillwell on the Locals community. Thank you, Scott, for being here. Um if there's anyone watching on X right now, if you have any comments on on X, that's Twitter if for those of you who don't know. Um if any of you would like to comment, leave a comment down below and I can put it on the screen. And I will be able to read your comments and let you know exactly what's going on. But, this information just coming down within the last hour or two just happening.
Interesting, like I say, interesting indeed. Uh the other one of the other things happening that Major League Baseball, I wanted to know what all of you thought about this. Um Major League Baseball, they are disciplined or they are they are threatening to discipline Major League Baseball players who do not wear their pride hat or their pride jersey. Um I think it was three San Francisco Giant players. Uh three players on the San Francisco Giants um put Bible verses um put Bible verses on their on their hat.
And Major League Baseball warned them um against doing that. And that has turned out to be a big backlash against the San Francisco Giants and against Major League Baseball. So, I was just wondering what you were thinking about that. Um was that appropriate for Major League Baseball uh to be involved to do that?
Scott says, "MLB has become anti-Christian."
That's according to Scott over on Locals. That's what he has to say. Let me know what you're thinking. If you're in the comments, if you're watching on X right now, and we have a lot of people watching on X. We have over 100 people watching. Uh let me know exactly what you're thinking. Or if you're watching on YouTube right now, let me know what you're thinking about this in the comments. And we can we can we can get on and let you know.
So, there's that those two stories uh that are trending nationally. Those are two big stories that are trending. And there's another statistic that I put on my social media page today. Something that I wanted to ask all of you about.
And I and And to know what you what you thought about it. Uh I wanted to know what you thought about this statistic right here.
Out of Michigan public schools, 84% of students graduated with a diploma in Michigan.
84% of the students in high school graduated with a diploma.
But only 41% of them can read proficiently.
So, what are we doing? Are we passing students?
Are we passing them just to get them out of class?
Um are are we are are we passing them to get them through school?
Is that what's happening?
I I want to know what you're thinking about this in the comments.
Karma says, "Dave, I sent you a message.
I hope you can research the conclusion."
I Yeah, I I will try to do that, Karma.
I will look. Thank you.
Uh Matthew says, "I don't agree with being forced to wear pride jerseys or attire, but I'd like to see MLB bylaws regarding being forced to wear alternative attire." That's true. Mary, no biological males in biological women's sports locker rooms or bathroom ever. No pride events, says Mary.
It would Yeah, it was Uncle Dave, you're absolutely right. Uncle Dave on YouTube says it was the left behind law.
Michigan changed their legislation when it comes to education. Before that, no student students who could not read, um they were not able to move to the next grade from third to fourth grade. But Governor Whitmer and the Democrats, they repealed that. There may have been some Republicans as well.
Uh uh lowly uh P- P- Paris says, "I don't think they should get a diploma if they can't do the work. How will kids ever compete?" Well, that's the problem.
But schools, as you know, schools are passing they're passing kids and graduating them because it looks better for those school districts, doesn't it? Doesn't it look better for those school districts if they are passing if they're passing those students? But what good are they really doing to those students? Are they really doing them any good? And the answer I have is you know, absolutely not. It's It's not doing those students any good whatsoever.
Um you know, it's just not good. So right here Darcy says, "How come girls aren't trying to play on boys teams? Wish they Wish they'd leave sexuality out of schools all together. Kids should be learning how to read and write." That comes from Darcy over on uh YouTube.
Uh Lola Perera l o l e p e r e 2568 says, "Our school districts have become a laughingstock."
Mary Mary over on Substack says, um "Get rid of the teachers unions." She says, "Get rid of the teachers unions."
over on Substack.
So the topics we're dealing with today, a lot of it is involving education.
In this one I'd like to know about right here, you know, what are all of you thinking about this?
Um when it when it comes to you know, when it when it when it come Are they just passing Are they just passing students?
You know, I was worried when I was in high school when I was a kid, I graduated from Westland John Glenn High School. I'm 51 years old now. But when I graduated, I was worried maybe that I wouldn't graduate unless I got good grades. Now I guess Do kids not worry anymore that they're going to pass or not?
Um heck if I know.
I mean, I I have kids that are in school, but they're working their darndest to to know what they're doing, their their math, their science, all of that stuff. So that that information is coming out that well, the state of Michigan is bragging The state of Michigan is bragging about um the graduation numbers, the the reading schedules, the the readings um Sorry, I'm just having some issues here.
Jordan Jordan Gray watching on on YouTube right now. Jordan says, "I went to a Michigan public school and look how I turned out." That was Jordan's a great guy, everybody. He's one of our followers in in California.
They don't worry, they have no goals, then we have team takeovers. Yeah, the team takeovers are something. What's the team takeovers all about, you know?
Okay, so we have that topic going on. We have another one. I'm doing a lot of rapid-fire news right here, throwing things at you really quick. Um Darcy Darcy says, "I remember when I graduated in '86, wondering why they let me do the same stuff over and over the last couple of years. There was no challenges."
Um there was no challenges. Yeah, and you know, many more people are homeschooling. I interviewed the CEO of a homeschooling company today, and you're going to hear that interview on Sunday, I believe it is.
And he's going to be talking about homeschooling and why homeschooling is growing so much. Um so many more people are homeschooling in Michigan and across the country. I'm going to be interviewing him. You're going to be hearing that.
Look at this right here.
Um what do you think about this?
Michigan is losing employees. Companies are leaving Michigan, workers are leaving Michigan.
Since Michigan repealed right-to-work in 2024, the state is down 135,483 jobs. Look Look that on your screen.
What do you think about that? And for those of you who don't know what right to work is, right to work is basically that if you work for a company that has a union, you can opt out of that union, legally.
Now, in Michigan, that used to be the case, but the Democratic controlled legislature at the time, including the governor, they repealed that.
So, now it let's say you work for the UAW, and you are in a union, you cannot leave that union, I believe. You cannot leave that union.
If you're a public school teacher, you are allowed to leave your union, no matter what the state law is, because the Janus decision. There was a Supreme Court decision that allows public sector workers to leave their unions.
But, this number right here, uh well, someone just said Four Winds in Cadillac is closed. Is that a casino?
Or what is Four Winds in Cadillac?
Sorry, I just saw that pop up on the screen right here.
Um Mary says, "I'm retired now, but if I had school-aged children, there's no way I'd send them to public school."
Um yeah, you you you you know, so this kind of ties into our education uh system as well, cuz teachers teachers can leave their jobs, public school teachers can leave their unions if they like. Um they they do not have to.
Okay, I have another story that I want to bring up on the screen right here, and this one got a lot of controversy online.
What do you think about this? Uh hold on. Is it right here?
Uh let me Yeah, I don't know if you're going to be able to see this or not.
Free lunch.
Did you know that in Michigan taxpayers are paying for lunch for students who are coming from millionaire families.
So, if you are a student that comes from a very wealthy family in Michigan, taxpayers are paying for their lunch.
Is that appropriate? Do you think that you should be paying for a student's lunch if that student comes from a very wealthy family?
And they're trying to expand this program as well in Michigan.
Now, I don't think a lot of people understand how this works, but there was already a program in place to give lunch to kids who came from families where they couldn't afford it.
That that program was already in place.
So, now Michigan has a program where every kid gets school lunch for free.
Even the ones who don't need it.
Okay?
And there's been a lot of people arguing with me, going back and forth on my social media pages about this issue.
Uh Scott Stillwell says, um free breakfast and lunch in Pennsylvania.
Okay. Hey, Scott Stillwell, I didn't know they had free breakfast and lunch.
Well, that's in Pennsylvania. I don't know about Michigan.
I know Michigan gets free lunch.
Um so, that that's happening as as well.
I want to know what you think about that. Should you, the taxpayer, be paying for lunch for kids who can afford it or who their families can afford it? And some of the arguments that people make is that, well, the kids the kids will kids will make fun of them if they know that they're getting a government, you know, a their lunch paid for.
So, everyone needs to get it paid for.
But, I think nowadays in schools, the kids have like a like a debit card or a little plastic card, and no one knows who's paying for it. I I think that's the way it is in most school districts.
Am I right? Am I right, everybody? And I think that way the kids don't know exactly, you know, if the government's paying for it or if mom and dad are paying for it or if the state of Michigan's paying for it.
So, I'm just wondering what what all of you are thinking in in in in that realm of things.
Um if everyone's watching is anyone watching on X? Are you on X right now?
Type a comment on the screen. I don't even care if you type a couple letters.
Um I got people watching on YouTube.
Well, we're live on YouTube right now.
We're live on Twitch. We're live on X, Rumble, Locals, and Substack.
If you are watching on X, can you leave a comment down below? I want to see if I can bring it up on the screen right here.
Um X is having some problems. Karma says, "Free poison for everyone. Let's not discriminate." Well, that's a whole other story. That's a whole other story.
Um exactly what exactly what kind of what kind of food is is being served.
You know, exactly what what kind of food is being served. And is it healthy food?
And and most of the people that I've talked to are saying that that no, it's not healthy school or healthy food whatsoever. Matthew says, "I should not pay taxes to schools since my kids are over 18 years old." Well, that's a whole other issue.
Um Uncle Dave says GMO foods. GMO.
I don't know. That that very well may be. I know I when I was a kid back in school, um I actually I actually missed I actually missed the days of when I would get those pizzas, those flat pizzas. Remember those flat pizzas?
And with the milk. Those were great. The the flat pizzas the the dish What do they call them?
Dish pizzas or the pan pizzas?
Tho- those were good Those were the good old days. And when I when I got those in school and I know they probably were not healthy with me whatsoever.
Um but they were good. Nutty McGee has your squirrel. Hello Nutty McGee.
Yeah, free cardboard pizza for everybody. That's what you're saying.
Yeah, hello and thankful to the cardboard pizza. That's >> [laughter] >> That is funny. Um so we have that story going on again and for those of you who are just joining us, the breaking news um coming out of Washington, D.C. is that the um Trump administration, the Department of Education has filed Let me bring it up on the screen right here so I can show you. Has filed an investigation or an investigation is underway against three school districts in the state of Michigan. The Ann Arbor Public Schools, the Monroe Public Schools, and the Chippewa Valley School District in Michigan are all under investigation for Title IX issues. Uh and the Ann Arbor Public Schools allegedly maintained policies allowing males to compete on women's sports teams. That's according to this news release and that news release um is that news release is coming from the U.S. Department of Education. Monroe Public Schools allegedly discriminated against female students by requiring the girls volleyball team to compete against a team with a biological male and forced female athletes to share locker rooms with the male athlete. And the Chippewa Valley School District allegedly permitted a female student to use the male-only locker room. That's the breaking news coming out right now.
Um and um Be Be Happy on YouTube says, "You're surprised that it's only three.
You're surprised that it's only three school districts. And there's a lot other There's more school districts that this is happening to in the state of Michigan. And what some people are wondering, will this happen to other schools? Well, once it happens to the three schools, this could set you know, this this could set a precedent that the other schools might need to jump in line. Now, I'm I have a feeling that they are going to fight this.
They are going to probably most likely appeal this.
I don't have a statement yet from these school districts.
But once I do get a statement, I will send that out to all of you.
So that breaking news just happening.
Dawn says there are 25 cities on the July 4th terror watch list. I did not know that, Dawn.
Dawn, your Substack. Thank you, Dawn. I appreciate it. If you're watching on Substack, everybody, go look at Dawn.
She has a cool Substack if you want to take a look at it.
Right there. She's a retired teacher as well. Thank you, Dawn, for that. For those of you watching on on Substack, you'll be able to see this.
Miss Nutzy McGee says the company I worked for during the pandemic gave free lunch. I wouldn't eat it because I said they wanted us to grow a third arm to work harder. You're funny. You're funny.
Um Yeah, so you know, this breaking news just coming down a short time ago that the government Department of Education filing charges or not filing charges, opening investigations into these Michigan school districts. And I know a lot of people have been working a long time to wait and for this to happen. And and now it has finally happened. So I'm I'm writing a news story up about this now and I'm going to be sending that out later to everybody.
And if you're watching if you're watching on my my right now, Hello, everybody. Hold on.
Um If you're watching on my Substack, I just put my link down at the bottom of the screen.
Click that to become a paid subscriber.
Um I can't keep doing all of this work unless I get paid subscribers. So, it's $6 a month. You can leave whenever you want. If you're watching on X, just go to my profile and click the subscribe button. That's how you can become a paid subscriber on X and support my work of independent journalism. It would mean the world to me. Um Dawn says, "I substitute teach and I'm seeing very interesting things going on in our district. Lots of DEI masked as helpful hints." Yeah, they say they're getting rid of DEI, but are they really getting rid of DEI? I had a story about how Michigan State University is basically trying to hide hide it and and they're not really doing that.
Um Marvin says, "Good men are going to have to do bad things to get this liberal mental illness straightened out." I would never say do bad things. I would try to be positive. Try to make a difference, everybody. Um Michelle Michelle um Michelle on YouTube says, "There's fraud, especially when unions give millions to one political party, which may not align with all their workers." I know a lot of people that belong to unions that do not believe in like, for example, the UAW sends most of their money to the Democratic Party.
Well, not most of them the majority of the union dues that they do send out to political parties, I think it's almost like 98% of it goes to the Democratic Party. But then you have to ask yourself, um what about the union members who are Republicans?
Do they not Why why can't they get their money to go to any anyway, that that's what you're dealing with when it comes to unions because I know a lot of people are are concerned um about um the unions.
Yeah, it it's so interesting what's going on with this. And I I'm I want to know all your opinions, but once again, I am working on a story. Uh I am working on a story right now and my story is involving that Department of Education um issue uh that's happening.
So, yeah, we're going to have that coming up. So, I'm going to let you go everyone because I want to get on that right now. I want to write my story. I want to go in there and write my story about the Department of the Department of Education with three investigations happening now against three Michigan school districts. I'm going to go and write that story. Um if you are not signed up to my newsletter, I encourage you to do that.
If you're on Substack, thank you. I hope you can become a paid subscriber. Um Uncle Dave says keep it local. Well, this is about as local as you can get.
A lot of national stories that have local implications.
And that's exactly what's happening with this one. So, I'm going to let you go everyone. Thank you so much for joining me. Spread the word. I'll talk to you later. Prayers to everyone. Have a great weekend. I'll see you live on Saturday Saturday night with my wife Katie and that is our Keeping it Real After Hours show. I will talk to all of you later.
