The J Curve model describes the five-stage emotional journey fans experience during a club crisis: (1) Shock/Denial - initial disbelief that the situation is happening, (2) Anger/Blame - directing frustration toward those responsible, (3) Depression/Low - feeling hopeless and overwhelmed, (4) Exploration - beginning to consider possible solutions and alternatives, and (5) Acceptance/Resolution - coming to terms with the situation and finding a way forward. This model helps explain why fan reactions to club crises often change over time as they process the situation, and can be applied to understand how supporters emotionally navigate difficult periods in their relationship with their football club.

Tonda Eckert STAY OR GO?! | Southampton Fans SplitAdded:
A very good evening. Welcome along to the channel. Thank you very very much for tuning in. Fan debate tonight on the channel. Uh we're going to be debating Torchett. Uh do we keep him? Yes or no?
There's a poll to get involved in for this show and we're going to put it up on the screen and we're going to we're going to watch it unravel uh as the screen uh pops up in about 10 minutes time. So you'll be keep an eye on that.
But get involved. Give me all your thoughts to it as well. That is the main part of today's show. It's really good to be here. Great to have you along once again for another live stream. I'm already missing club football. Don't know about you guys. I'm already missing it. Mad, isn't it? It hasn't It doesn't feel like it was yesterday. We were We were down at St. Mary's for that game against Middlesbrough and and now there's nothing for a while. We're just waiting for the World Cup. I'm looking forward to the World Cup. Uh very much so. Um I'm sure you are too. We're going to cover a bit of it on the channel as well. Uh, first and foremost, before we do get into today's show, I've got a big thank you for you, the viewers. Massive moment, milestone for the channel this week. 10,000 subscribers. Two years I've been doing YouTube, so it's not that long really, but the hard work and dedication has paid off. I'm incredibly proud to have reached 10,000 subscribers on YouTube, which is a big thing to do to get 10,000 subscribers in a very, very niche market, in a very, very niche subject. Southampton Football Club is quite incredible. Every single subscriber is organic as well. I've not paid for one. It's just been pure hard work and consistency and honesty. And this is what this show is going to be all about today. Honesty, thoughts and and and looking back and and reflecting upon the feelings and emotions. And I want to get that from you as well. But it's just a massive shout out to everybody that has subscribed and everybody that has um yeah supported the journey. You know who who you are. The the people close to me and I don't have that many people close to me, but the ones that are close to me, they know who they are. So 10,000 subscribers.
Unbelievable stuff. We head towards 20 now. That's the next aim. But content galore over the summer. That is what we will be doing. Plenty of content coming your way. Um, we're going to be covering everything that happens uh at Southampton Football Club, the club that we all support and love that's been through a bit of a rough ride the last couple of weeks. And there's not been loads, has there in terms of uh anything out the club, I do kind of feel personally um slightly different about things and I'm I'm going to talk to you about my feelings and my emotions. And I have to thank Charlie Brett actually who sent me something today and it's it's worth bringing to the channel because it's really really good. Um I'm going to bring it up in a minute. It's called the J curve. It's like feelings and emotions in a in a in a traumatic situation and it's um it's really really good. Um I'm going to get all of you guys involved in the chat as well. So the show's about you as well. So, I'll be bringing through your your comments and bringing them onto the screen so we can debate a little bit more as well. But I want to kick off with um Adam Blackmore's been tweeting in the last uh hour or so. He's been responding actually to a viewer of the channel. And here is what Adam Blackmore has had to say. If you've missed it and you've not seen it, this is what he's had to say. Here we go. Pop it on the screen for you. He was asked if there's any idea on what is going on at Saints and he said yes, discussions and decisions to be made on the way forward. The FA investigation may make some decisions for them rather than doing anything before that. It's not the only way I would have done it. So he doesn't necessarily agree with it. He said previously that he thinks that they like Tundra as a head coach and they aren't in the mind to sack him unless the FA fit take it out of their hands.
Interesting. He also went on to reply there's Kieran Magguire's done a bit with um BBC today. He is going to come on this channel. I've I messaged him on WhatsApp tonight. He's going to come on the channel. Kieran Magguire will come on. Um and he spoke about um the financial status football club. We'll get into a bit more detail with him on the channel because we will get him on uh and he's he's up for it. Uh he's basically said they're talking about people that want Sport Republic out to to realize that Dragon is propping up Southampton football club to the tune of hundreds of millions of pounds. We should be glad that he's there and he's willing to do it. Otherwise, Saints could head back towards 2009 and we don't really want to be going back there at all, do we? Because that was a pretty dark moment. But there you go. There's a tweet from Adam Blackmore.
He said that the discussions are going on and uh nobody is come out from the club and said anything at the moment.
But do get voting uh ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, in the in the poll. There's a link in the show notes below and I'm going to pop it on your screen very shortly so you can get involved. I'll leave Adam Blackmore's tweet there just for a second or two so you can uh read that. But that is what Adam Blackmore has had to say uh this evening. Uh some interesting comments from uh him.
So give me all your thoughts to that. Um there you go. The poll is on your screen. That's how it's standing at the moment. Do you want Tonda to stay?
There's a little barcode up on the right hand corner or you can see or you can use the show link bel it's it's it's weighed heavily towards uh T staying now. Um and like I'm not surprised by by the by the swing because I think like when we're all in the moment and the J curve absolutely sums it up. Here you go. Here's the J curve for you. So here it is the change curve.
This is fantastic from Charlie Brett who pointed this out to me and it's really good. When whenever you go through a trauma in your life, you have that shock. This can't be right. This isn't happening that it's not going to really happen.
You're in that denial stage. No, no, no.
We won't get kicked out. No, we won't.
We'll appeal it and we'll win. Um, then you go through the anger and blame where like you tweet, he should never step foot inside St. Mary Stadium again because that is exactly what I said in a tweet. I was like really I was so upset and like he can't manage our club again.
Then you go through that um surely there must be some way, you know, there must be some way to fix this. How do we fix this? Then you feel low like we did at the weekend, the playoff final, Saints are not there and you slip into a little bit of depression, don't you? Where it just feels really low and just really really horrible. And then you start to explore, suppose we give this a try and keep Tund's been one of the best managers we've had in a very long time. Maybe this could work if he stays as the Saints head coach. And then a lot of people coming around to the idea now, let's do this. Let's keep this man in charge of the football club. So there you go, the change curve. Have you been on this curve? Yes or no? get involved in the conversation below because I'd really love to know um where you are on this curve or have you been through it? Uh brilliant from Charlie Brett. Thank you very much, Charlie Brett. Brilliant. Really, really good.
But like I've been through that curve and I have got to the point now some bloke messaged me on uh one of my platforms today and said to me, "We don't need people like you um shouting to get the manager out when he's the best manager we've had in a century." Um and like I'm not shouting for him to go. Like I was very very vocal at the start. I don't want him at the club. I hate what he's done. Da da da. Um and and I and yeah, I was I was angry like every single one of you in the chat. But we'll go through some of his stats in a minute. Um we're still waiting to to see what Saints do because they said, didn't they? And I've put it on the screen about that um accountability and that determined to put things right. Um, in the day since, we haven't really heard a lot from the club, but I do think there'd be a bit going on behind the scenes. I do think there'd be a lot going on. Keep voting in that poll, and I'll tell you how many people were voted as we get on, but I'm going to look at the um I did a Facebook one at lunchtime today. Um, and I really want to get um get that on the screen for you all to have a look at. Like I'm I don't see a world where Eckert survives like deep deep down I just can't see it. But that could change. We haven't had an apology from him yet, have we? We haven't had no. And how are the sponsors feeling?
Like I don't know. Is it going to split the fan base by keeping him? But then it's going to split the fan base by getting rid of him. I think either way we they're not going to win here. But they're probably looking at all these opinion polls now that are swinging around and there's a lot of them. You know, I've done an outstanding one today. Probably one of my best ever polls. I'm going to pop it up on the screen actually for you to to have a look at. Um, have a look at this because it is really interesting. There you go. This was my Facebook fan poll today. Um, so I basically said you got to do a thumbs up if you want him to have a second chance at Treker. And I've got an angry face if you want him sacked.
And there at the top is the response.
1,700 people. It's more now because I screenshot this about an hour and a half ago and my Facebook page is mental.
There's so many people interacting with it. That's like gone 2,000 now. So, but it m there is loads more people that want Tonda to stay than they want him to go. 335 at the time of this screenshot wanted him to leave and there's three shocked. So there you go. Like give me your opinion to that. I think it's really intriguing. Um I listened to Simon Peach with um Jono Holmes today on the Saints and Sinners podcast where it is. Can't think what it's called.
Anyway, I was listening to it and he was like the club need to start rebuilding quickly. they need, you know, they need to make action really quickly. He was going on to say like Nick said in the chat below that that the FA may take it out of Southampton's hands if they decide to go and ban Echo. We we don't know what they're going to decide to do.
But there you go. That is the fan poll that I did on Facebook. And if you're not following my Facebook page, it's well worth a follow, by the way, because it's really good.
There's some good content on there as well. So, um, I'll get your chat involved very shortly, but there you go.
The fan poll, it was very much swayed massively in favor of Tonda Eker remaining as the Southampton head coach.
But someone has pointed out in the comments box below, um, social media, um, doesn't mean anything. Probably a load of Bura Pompy fans. The thing is, I've gone on Saints web. I'm going to go on there now and actually have a look and refresh it. When I looked earlier, it was very similar. And my Facebook page, it's about 8,000 Saints fans. It's just Saints fans on there because I look at the analytics. Majority of people are from Southampton. So, this Yeah, look, there might be a be a few um burough fans. It's hard to gauge it. But the one thing we will get out of this poll that we've got on the screen tonight, this poll here, this is genuine because it's you tuning in. The majority of you tuning in will be Southampton fans. Like you I don't think as many people going to be tuning in. If you're not a Saints fan, you'd be like you get my guess and Pompy fans like reveling in it. But I don't think Pompy fans are actually reing in it. Not too bad. They've actually been quite quite um okay to be honest. haven't been um and then you say to yourself, would you want would you want Scott Park or a Trek Eka? And I'm like rather Trekka. Then you start weighing yourself up against different managers, don't you? Who would you rather have? And I think it all kind of you bring it into the mix of like I'm not like the other day I was like you shouldn't set foot back in St. Mary's again. That's how I felt at that moment because I was so freaking angry. But yeah, I I'm not sure after what's gone on that he he can survive. There's like a little bit of a vacuum, isn't there?
Because the club haven't said anything and there's the Ech's not made like an apology or a statement yet, which I think we're all waiting for. I think it does leave it open for people to debate it and stuff. So, but if he does stay, if he does remain the head coach, which I think is a big big if, he would need some really thick skin like on epic proportions because the abuse he get every single way um ground he goes. But it actually when I think about it, if there's ever a guy that could deal with abuse, I think it's probably Echer. Um he's pretty good with his one-word answers. So, there you go.
Keep your votes coming. I'm going to leave it on the screen and then I'm going to read out some of your um some of your comments. So Jeff Thomas is in the live. Thank you for joining Jeff.
It's not like he's done anything that isn't rife in the league. He was just the one that got caught. We don't officially know that. There's rumors, but no one else has been caught. So really and truly, we don't know if it's rife. It might be. I don't know, mate. You might know more than me. I'm just sitting on the fence because I don't know. Somebody said to me that said to me the other day that there was there was rumors of a really big championship club that were doing this.
So, look, that's my my thoughts on that one. Um, Jeff, but Nick, thank you for joining. Um, nothing to gain by other supporters joining the chat anymore. For them, it's over. And I totally agree. I I don't get why anyone would come in there like from Burough now. I don't think they need to. Um, uh, I'm going to come to some more of your chat. Wrong. We'll start working back up through this really quick. So, thank you all for tuning in tonight. I really do appreciate if you're new here.
Um, we will we will tweet this actually as a thank you to members. I will do the last 10 minutes of this evening's show. So, it's only members that can comment in the chat and I can pull you through a bit quicker because that I have to give you something back because you I have I want to give something back because you support the channel, give you adree videos and podcast and stuff, but I really want to give something back. So, at the back end of this show, if you're a member and your comments getting missed, don't worry because I'm I'm going to do a membersonly chat at the end. So, we uh we will work through that. Right, let's come to some more of your chat uh chat. Um, thank you to the um, Bulma fan that's in the chat and for following the Facebook page. I do appreciate that. It's really kind of you, mate. Right, there's a lot um, of people in here. So, um, are we all renewing our season tickets?
I definitely will do because I love it so much. It's a massive part of my life.
It's like church, isn't it? I go there every Saturday pretty much. You know what? At least from the championship, we know the majority of the kickoff be 3:00. That's the only only good good thing. Um Josh, um you've got a membership there. You've been gifted. Thank you to Simon for gifting Josh a membership there. That's very, very kind of you. Um 100% I am, says Josh. He's going to be renewing his things. I'll be renewing mine. And um I love it. Like you all love, we all love it. It's like our it's like our um it's our go-to at the weekend. Um Mike said Martin disagree. Pompy and Burough fans have been really bad over the net. Burough fans especially. Who've been the worst Mike for you? Pompy or Burough? I'd be intrigued in in my comments. I've had some all right. Pompy fans, but I I did come away from reading like comments all the time because it was getting like a little bit painful.
It was getting a little bit um little bit painful reading some of it.
Um somebody says here they hope hopes he gets banned. Um I'm going to read out some of his stats.
Actually I I got you some of his stats.
Um Echer since he Right. This is good because this is from Saints Statistics.
This one I'm just going to go back a page. I've got it on my screen. Really good. They did a thread a couple of days ago around Echert and reasons why you might want to keep Tunder Eker as the Saints head coach. Right, so here they are. So Echit Southampton stats, he's managed 40 games. He's had 25 wins, only nine defeats, only nine draws. Only six defeats, sorry. Only six defeats.
Nine draws and a points per game ratio of 2.6. If he'd been at been at the club at the start of the season, we would have automatically gone up. He's got a win rate of better than pretty much any Southampton manager in a long time.
62.5.
The tweet here went on say, "Can we really throw it away?" Um, and it is and it's interesting. Give give me give me your thoughts on it because I think more and more people were swaying towards keeping him and and getting rid of him.
I think there'd be a lot of people that would be really really disappointed um if if he sat. Um but yeah, he will come out and apologize surely at some stage.
I'm sure he come out with some sort of statement. There's there's links with several Ser in in the media shortlisted a couple of clubs over in Italy. We can definitely go and look at training in Italy, can't you? I think. Um, but then when you look at the available managers, who takes your fancy when I read out the available managers, by the way, just before to the stats. Steve Cooper, I'm not a massive fan. Thomas Frank, really, really like him. Sean Dice, not really too keen on him. Ralph Fasnoodle, don't think he'd come back. Don't really want him to come back. Ryan Potter, I thought he had the Sweden job, but not really interested.
Scott Parker, many say that he'd bring a load of leadership. His football's really boring. I had a Bulma fan tell me the other day, his football is absolutely dog. And I think the the um Burnley Burnley fans are delighted to see the back of him. Steven Gerard, absolutely not. And Nuno Spiritto Santo is staying at West Ham. Um he was on that list, but I've got to say West Ham, they're going to be um top favorites, aren't they, next year for that league with him in charge. They'd be really good next year in that division. Depends what the squad's like, but as a manager, like I think he is a like top manager.
But there you go. Ech stats, 40 games, 25 wins, nine draws, six defeats, average points per game, 2.6.
It is really good, isn't it? Uh, what else do we have statwise? I had some more here that I wanted to bring to you.
I can't find them now, but there you go.
Get give us all your reaction to it. Um, I thought those stats were really, really good. Um but yeah, do you do you throw it away? A win a win percentage of 62.5%.
Unbelievable. Right, let's come back to your chat. Um loads of you in the live.
Thank you for tuning in. It's really really good of you. Um someone says here if Todd De think we have a better chance of keeping our best players.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm pro it's probably the best outcome is that we keep him.
Um, he um Yeah, I think that's a good point. I think it's a good point.
T has promotion stats. We need that.
Yeah, someone thinks we got a better chance. Um, we were talking about it, Jack, in terms of like I think a lot of people did because we were so angry. We were so angry, but like we were talking about the J curve that we had on the screen a minute ago. Like the emotions you go through as a as a as a as a fan. Jack, if you put yourself in our position, like just go and put yourself in our position for like two minutes and think of what he's done. Like I'm not going to like I can't see it. I can't see him staying, but he might well do. I think if he stays, then we have to get a good faith anti- spy cautions on the kit. Yeah.
Yeah. No. Um, but he won't do it ever again, will he? He would never ever ever do it again. Never do it again. Can't imagine the club sacking him after his record. I can imagine him wanting to stay if the club stick with him, but I can't I can't see the FA banning him.
But I You can see the FA banning him.
Yeah, I can as well. Um Yeah, it was terrible. He's actually doing it on the pitch, wasn't it? It was like as bad as it got. Yeah. So, so Right. He That was um That was unbelievable, wasn't it?
When he was just literally throwing games and some of it was just embarrassing.
It's really hot in my studio. me having my Coke Zero. Yeah, he absolutely does.
And I think that's the next big thing.
He needs to come out and apologize. I'm sure he will do. I'm sure he will come and apologize at some stage, but it's just when it's right. And I think he said like in a press conference a couple of weeks ago, he wanted to talk, doesn't he? I don't think it'd be quiet from the club for that many more days. And I do I do kind of feel like we are the calm before the next big Saints storm because there will be another big storm.
uh whatever happens there will be another big storm. It's just a case of when it is. I do think it is coming. Um just just when that when that be it might just be in a couple of days time.
Honestly, I think we're going to get abuse either way. I agree. It could it could end up being a lot of fun having a season in a good league with a better manager than the available options.
Siege mentality is everything, mate. I'm with you on that. Siege mentality is is is so important. But I think him standing up and coming out and like being totally honest would would massively help. Um this is really kind James. Thank you very much. Issue is um how he's perceived by other teams now with all without all the extra intel.
How good is Tonda? Currently has something about him. Big big decision.
Thank you for the five pounds. Uh James, that's really really kind of you. I do appreciate that a lot mate. It goes a long way. every penny goes back into um the channel. So, I really appreciate that. So, um they won't do that. It's too risky to put Lana in charge for like interim uh record. If he when if he's banned, he's banned. We won't be able to have a manager that's banned. It just will be stupid. Like next year, we have to get back up. Like financially, we're going to have to get back up. I think it's um that will teach clubs to train in open public. If you don't want people watching training session, build a wall as do the bigger clubs. I think having a walls is important, but rules are rules and you have to be a little bit mindful of rules in football. Like I I get it. I get your point. I still don't think we should have done that. And I still I still think it's it's like yeah it was so stupid but it you know it's been overreacted to but it has seen us kicked out of a championship final has seen us get kicked out of a game worth 200 million quid.
I know yeah there's a lot more than like there's sponsors there's money. It's all about money. It will all come down to money. That is the thing.
We can't afford a bad start. Uh we just cannot afford to fall behind earlier. I totally agree with you, mate. Um Justin says no chance that he doesn't get banned.
Who do I think will leave player-wise?
I've got a comprehensive um squad keep loan or sell or no choice coming up next week. I'm going to go through the whole squad top to bottom and I'm going to work through it and I'm going to I'm going to bring it to you. I've got to do my end of season awards which will go out in the next couple of days. So I've got my end of season awards awards awards video and then we will start looking at the squad. But my gut feeling is that we will lose a fair few players and the squad won't look the same um by sort of like this time next month if I'm totally honest.
The bullion of intrams means no. The interims aren't much older than the academy players.
Yeah, I don't I don't like that. I think it's a really good point you make. I think it's a really good point you make mate. You can't be doing that. I do I I do agree with that. I think it's you it shouldn't happen in any workplace.
Whether you're a football club, you're a bank, you're an independent shop or a cafe. You It just shouldn't happen, should it? I agree. I do agree.
I think it's a good point, Marie. I think he's made a really, really good point.
But I do um I do get where you're coming from. If we were allowed to play in the playoff final and receive a six-point deduction next season and transfer embargo, I wonder if the reaction towards Tonda would be the same. Great point, Jack. I really like it, Jack.
I've not seen it in the chat before.
Thank you for joining us this evening.
Thanks for getting involved, mate. It's um a really good point. Really good point. I'm really interested to see what happens with Man City. That's going to come out in the next few days by the looks of it. I reckon it might be announced before the World Cup. What What is going to happen with it with with Man City? That is a fascinating um story there. Players leaving or staying will depend on how they feel about the whole situation.
We aren't just guessing because we haven't heard anything concrete from anyone at the club. And I think that is the thing. There's a vacuum, isn't there, James, that's been been left and not loads of players have come out because you've look you've had Leo, Matsky, Taylor Harwood, Bellis, and Samadozi make statements and and um like words. Joshua Quasi did an Instagram story but didn't say anything.
I don't think there's any other player that's come out and said anything. So yeah, I don't think the silence has helped really, but they're going to have to start building bridges quickly.
I do agree there. There's too many if buts and may and people are like it just splits people and it makes debate, but then sometimes I wonder, do people care about that? Maybe they like it. I don't like it as a fan. I don't like it. I want to um I want clear communication. I've enjoyed West Ham's covering actually of their managerial situation and I've got to say like I know they take a a little bit of a hammering as a club West Ham and they were relegated weren't they on Sunday to the Championship play against us next season we will go be going to London Stadium they will be coming to St. areas. This is a big club being relegated, but the way they've done their statements around the relegation, but they've also issued another one with regards to the the manager as well. So, they've been like quite on it and he's committed uh and they and they've kind of cut it all out straight away. They've got it done and dusted. They've basically come out and said he wants to stay. Uh he wants to stay. We want him to stay. Happy days. So everybody now knows where they stand. Yes, they don't have an FA investigation, but everyone knows where they stand. And I think from a fan base, it builds trust and that's what our club needs to do. They need to start building trust. So there is a fair bit to do. It's 1.99. It's it's like le so much less than a coffee and like you think it's a quarter of a price of a pint and it makes a massive difference.
You can do that on the on YouTube. So yeah, um the worst stadium. Yeah, it's not the greatest, but they have communicated with their fans really well and like our club haven't done that yet.
I'm sure they will. It's how they do that. I don't know if there's anybody in with Fab from the Fab the Saints fans advisory board, our advisory board. Did they get a response from the club? I haven't I don't know. I'd like to know, but even the people that I talk to like haven't come out and said, "Oh, yeah, yeah, we I know this or I know that. I just don't get any of it at all." If Tonda stays, he can also convince Sienza, Yander, Pareets, and Len to stay. Depends how they feel as players though, doesn't it? You know, like does Siena sit as a last chance to try and get a move to the top top level?
Yander's come out and said nothing at all other than his agent being busy trying to get move.
Perez has come out and spoken and he said he loved the manager and he's quite complimentary about the club and the fans, but he's yet to make a decision.
So, he'll be waiting to see what um what happens irrelevant of the FA decision if Southampton's intent was to sack uh my I think we would know by the way if they were going to sack him. By the way, my only thought is is Tonda gets a ban from the FA, does that mean Saints are no no longer obliged to pay him out of his deal? Well, Kieran Mcguire was talking about this earlier. It Gus Pouyet left Brighton and Hove Albian all those years ago, they had him for gross misconduct.
I don't know what happened there. I don't know the ins and outs. I should have looked at the whole story, but he did say in the podcast that they they got rid of him on gross misconduct. You can go back and like try and make a claim, but you just settle for a little bit less. Um, I won't be against it, Dibbling. If Leo was to go, it would maybe soften the blow. It would soften the blow there. There's there's no doubt about that. But this is this is this is the point. And Linda is is is spot on here. How can anyone in the club trust tunder again? I think he has to go. I'm very sad because I trusted him and I thought he was an intelligent and honest man sadly, but I was wrong. I think it's a good point. How many people within the chain knew about it? How many people were like in it? I think that's a big thing. Um, someone mentioned about my Gus Pouyet comment there.
I swear Gus Pooy was sacked live on match of the day. I think he was. I think you're right. Yeah, I think he was.
I don't think it looks great. And I I agree. You know, we haven't had anything from him and from the club. You know, they've got this internal investigation going on. We all need as fans, I think, all demand the answers of it and know the ins and outs of it. Like, yeah. I think there's been such a media onslaught on Southampton. I think we Yeah, be I I want to hear more from the club. Um but yeah, no, it's I don't like the bullying thing. I don't like that at all.
Yeah, I don't like it at all. Um we got a B Pompy fan in the live stream. That's no surprise. Um keep chat coming. It's good to have you. Uh it's good to have you here. Good to have you tuning in. Uh read this one out. I'm going to do members only very shortly and in in a couple of minutes time I'm going to go members only for the chat to wrap up this stream. It's not a long stream this evening. I just thought I'd do 40 45 minutes of chat with you guys because I just want to keep turning up and like there's someone someone that's talking about Saints covering it all. Some feelood videos coming in the next couple of days. We've got the player awards which I'm going to do all my player awards. I'm sure someone to go and copy that now. I've said it. I shouldn't say these things out loud. Um but I will do the Football Martin player awards. um some of my thoughts. Got a couple of categories that I've done and then we will be doing a a review of the squad next week, but there will be content in in between as well. So, if anything breaks in between, we will um we will cover it. Um full transparency required. Um yeah, I agree with that. I I I agree with that.
Charlie Pay, thank you for joining the live. T has a lot to make up for, but I think he's a good manager unless we can find a better replacement.
Leads kept Piaza and they finished eighth in the Prem two seasons later.
They did. Yeah. I I don't know where Harrison is, mate. He's a teacher, isn't he? So, it's difficult for him because he comes on. I love to get him on, but it's on it's it's up to him. If he wants to come on, I'd welcome him with open arms. The issue is um he's a teacher and he'll probably get a load of abuse at school and it depends if he wants to put himself in that position because this gets watched by a lot of people.
Everyone who is Tonda out is looking in the past. Everyone who's t in is looking to the future. Yeah, I think it's a good point.
It's a good point. I'm looking to the future and I'm like trying to be as positive as I can about it without being negative because I don't want to be negative about it and I hope that that whatever happens like things will will work out for the best in the long run and and I'm sure it will do. Um that's the key. Right, we're going to go to members only for the back end of this um chat. So if you're a member, you'll get priority now on the on the chat because I want to give something back to people that are members. So, if you're a member and you got a question and I've missed it, now's your opportunity to get in and and have your say. I will answer anything you've got. This is a fan debate show tonight. Uh it's not an issue on whether he's good or not. He's great is if we decide it's okay if Yeah, I totally agree. The ethics around it. I I do I do um it's a good point if he gets a five match ban. Yeah. Think he get more than that. I think Justin will probably back me up on that. I think he will get more than that. Um, but yeah, it's good to speak about it respect and be respectful one another's opinions because we got all all everyone's got an opinion, haven't they?
We've all got opinions. When some guy messages me today, we don't know people like you like saying this and that. But I've I've just been really balanced. I don't think I've like been stepped out of order at any stage during this Mark.
That's really kind to give me that. That means a lot. So, thank you. Just wanted to say this great content coming. Thank you. You're keeping us all in touch with each other and that's what we do. It's not just a channel, is it anymore? I put on my LinkedIn post today. It's not just a channel anymore. It's a community.
It's not content anymore. Just content.
It's a community. That's what we've built.
So, um, thank you, Mark. really appreciate that. At the end of the day, the FA may take the decision out of the club's hands. We'll soon find out. But how long does that decision take? That's another point that we haven't really spoke about is how long does that decision take? Because there could be people on holiday and how long can we wait because you know we have to start planning ahead of next year, don't we? Have to start playing.
Preseason's been booked apparently that is pardon me. Apparently that is Barcelona. They're going to Barcelona. I got told a while ago. So they've probably booked preseason, but they have to start looking at the squad. There's decisions to be made over players like really important ones over James Brie, Ross Stewart, Lahren all out of contract. Small bones contract at an end. I think that that that's done. Alex McCarthy's contract at an end. There's loads of players. There will be the retain list very shortly. And on that retain list, we know who they're keeping, but I would love to try and get Pretty for the Premier League. I really, really do.
That's my my thoughts. I do think they will um they will try. Of course they will try.
They will try. Um but yeah, members only for a bit. So if you're a member, you're getting priority now as a thank you. I think Bri wants to stay. I hope he does, mate. I hope he does.
They are bothered 100%. They'll be bothered. They will be.
They just will.
because like these big CEOs and companies like these they're big company someone like P is a big company they'll be looking at it and looking at the reaction of the club of course they will um they've had a we've had a lot of publicity but then we could get a lot of eyeballs next year do you know what I mean where could be a huge amount of eyeballs on the club um it does make your job slightly easier it does I didn't realize you oh yeah I didn't realize you're a member maybe it's because you're a you're a moderator but it's nice to give the members an opportunity to get some priority. Um, do you think there's anything with Aaz and Manning being forced to withdraw from the Island squad? I didn't see that. I don't think there's anything in it. Aaz was clearly struggling with an injury at the end of the season. He was really struggling and he looked like he needed a rest quite badly. Manning picked up a lot of knocks, didn't he, in the Middlesbrough game, and I think he would have been probably touch to go for the final anyway. So, they probably just need a rest and need a holiday. Like a lot of the players are on holiday now.
You can see there if you follow him on social media there's a lot of them um on holiday now obviously we have Ben Breton Diaz back there's a lot of clubs want him that they biff him straight off um you know Sigawara how did he do on it on his loan there's um Larios there's so many players out on loan isn't there's a lot to sort out isn't there's a lot to sort out um I wonder if the players won't be so angry if they see it as a mistake by Honda well he would have spoken to them already wouldn't he because he had them all in a week ago so that they've already had that conversation he's already explained himself that the players already know and they would all have feelings that there was a lot of talk last week when it all come out that the players were furious and there were players looking to sue the club that's what come out in all the anger but then you also had um you also had like talk sport and people like that saying dragon soak's furious he's on his way to the UK heads will We haven't seen any of that neither.
Thank you, James. Really, really appreciate that. Such a great community and family on this channel. We love your content with your dad the other day. He will be making a regular regular appearance next season. We'll be doing loads and loads with my dad. He's retired and got loads of time on his hands. Um, he only goes to coffee shops and goes out walking, writes a few books. So, he's always around, Dad. So, we we will we will get him on the channel lots and lots. Simon, my friend, I hope you're good. Um, thank you so much. Thank you um the group for the group therapy Martin. Hope the fans stick together whatever the outcome.
Unity will be so important. What a lovely um gesture of five pound. I really appreciate that. Thank you for your kind comment and I totally agree about unity. You unity is really really important. Uh officially a member that's great. Thank you very much for becoming a member of the channel. It's only a small fee $1.99 and you get um some nice bonuses with that as well. So, we give you a bit of ad free content, some exclusive content over the summer. The transfer the transfer show is going to be returning in the next week or so as well. And there's going to be some really good videos going up. I'm not going to give it all away, but me and my dad are going to do some bits as well that we really want to do. We are heading back to look at the old down doing some stuff for some of the older fans that tune in. Uh the punishment uh was too harsh. It's the players and the fans I feel for. I think it was really harsh. Really, really harsh. Uh, I like this one and you're right to do so.
Massive shout out to Chris, Charlie, your dad, Roger, Ellie, uh, Sam, you are correct. They've all been a great addition to the channel. And Fred's a new addition as well. And you know what?
There's always room for more. If there's other people that want to get involved in postmatch and get involved in the channel, uh, we do want fans to have a say. This is a platform for you. I'm here and and I'm balanced and I try and keep it as PG as I possibly can. It's watched by families uh all across the world and I want other people to come in and have their say as the channel builds and gets better. Um Frank, thank you very much for the £5. That's really really kind of you didn't have to do that, but I really appreciate that. So, God bless you, my friend. Thank you very much.
Do you think the head of scouting um of the UK, he was already going on it? I believe I heard the other day that he was already on his way. So, we spoke about Sienza a minute ago.
Still not guaranteed a move. Saints will need to raise funds and I think inevitably he'd be one of the assets. I think Taylor Harles is the biggest asset. He's been our best player this year. He's been so good. is getting a move that excites him though as a player that he's going to have to the club will have to accept a bid even if they you know he might he might not want to go you just don't you don't know like he he is the talent along with Leo and Yander I think they fetch the biggest money so I do think them ones are go um there will be a full release live stream on the 25th of June yes there will be you're right to point it point it out and we will be doing it we will do a full release to it. Um, I loved his Instagram story after the player final. He quickly deleted it though. I think he's like one of those like us. He's just like us. He's like reactional. Like he's passionate, wants to win, hates losing. Um, goes a bit crazy sometimes, get lets his emotion get the better of him just like I do and just like you do. And but we all man enough, boy enough, girl enough to come back and say, "Do you know what? When we're wrong, we're wrong." Do you know what I mean? We just say it. And um I really liked his his statement the other day. I thought it was really good. But when we talk about um Leo, someone spoke about Dibbling.
That would be a good replacement.
Good replacement. Will we do a fans phone? Yeah, we will do one. They're really hard to manage. Like really difficult. But I will try and do one like a fan debate fans phone in. We will do one like definitely will do one. I I want to He put after the final we put a pie of Guinness up and just took a picture of it, but he deleted it within about an hour, but it' already gone.
Everyone has screenshot it and sent it everywhere. So it was everywhere. So it's it's it was over and done with it before before you knew it. It was it was all around the internet, wasn't it? Um, but we will try and do a phone in show.
They're just difficult to try and manage. Uh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Some empty bottles in the background, wasn't there?
Um, yeah, I think we all will, Mark. We'll all be looking for um the burough fixtures and the and and the Pompy fixture. Yeah, definitely.
Definitely, definitely.
Right, last five minutes. I've nearly done an hour. I didn't plan on doing an hour, but we we're there. And there's still like over 4 Well, there was about 400 people tuning in, so it's pretty amazing. Live streaming used to be about 15 people and then they now they're like freaking massive. Thank you so much for supporting us. It's really, really kind of you. Right, final few things before we Well, it's fan debate, so it's like all about you having a having a say. The biggest question is in football is which idiot put Msino as a possible replacement for the Southampton job. Look, he's done a good job at Pompy. I'll defend him and say, "Look, I think John Msin has done a really good job at Pompy. Come Southampton though, I hope that was just a wind up. I hope it was a wind up." Look, he's done a good job. Um, he's had no budget. He's got some really good results for them and fair play to him.
Do you think Charles is going to be soldier? I do. We've got Bragg to replace him and Brag's quality. How exciting is that? Cameron Bragg will come in. They've got Moses Cessay in the background by the way as well. We don't talk about Mo Moses CE.
Um Moses Cesi is brilliant. I'm good.
Thank you. Good to have you joining the live, my friend. Uh thank you for being a member. I do appreciate all these people that we're doing members only for the back end of the live stream is a thank you to everybody that's got a YouTube membership. We've got quite a few members. They've got about 130 members now, which is pretty amazing, right? Friendlies. Let's put it out there. This is a good one. Will you be going to the friendlies? Well, it's a very big question because if it's me, I want to go to every single friendly. I want to be at every game. Like, I'd love to. It's impossible, but I want to. So, even if they go to Barcelona, would the club let me go and cover it? you know, they let the Echo go, but then they're med media outlet, a proper one, where we're just a YouTube show, but it is becoming a media outlet. And I think we're trying to present it in a as a media outlet, and it's professional enough to to go, I think. Will they let me? That's another me matter. That might be down to me asking and you maybe knocking the door for me as well. But I would love to go and cover preseason. I would like to go on the training camp. I give you a bit of behind the scenes. Um, but I would really like to um to cover it in in in real detail. I like every signing I want to cover. I want to be the ultimate fan channel um video outlet. So that let's see let's see if we can make it happen. Let's see if that's something that's possible, but I've always wanted to go and cover pres.
The thing that frustrated me last year, they're all behind closed doors where the fans don't have an opportunity to go. Wouldn't it be nice for the fans to reconnect with the club by saying, "Actually, we're off to Spain, lads. Um, and lasses, we're going to give you the opportunity to come to some games. You know, you can buy a ticket for this this great, you know, I know they got steward and stuff, but what's the harm? I mean, how good was that the Villa preseason tour? I follow I follow Matt Stokes Villa on tour. Really really good um content creator and he and he goes and travels with his club and he and he and he shows it off. It's really good. But that's what we want to do. So, for me, I would love to love to have that opportunity to go and cover it. So hopefully um I'll talk to them nearer the time, but um it'll probably be be a no I would think.
But do I think Downs a stay? Yeah, I do.
I do think he stay. I don't think he'd get a Premier League move. Maybe I switch might come back for him, but I don't know.
Hang on. If Martin goes to Barcelona, he might stay.
Um but yeah, I'd love to go. Um, I don't know about that. I'll make a terrible chairman, but I just got good views. I got good views and I'll just like say how it is. I'm not I think Glenda would be quite good on the board by the way and someone said that the other day, but um I'll say it is when I said when I've been like a bit rash and I've been a bit over the top. At least I say it and man up to it. Like I was really reacting the other day. I was like he shouldn't step foot in the stadium again. But I wish I hadn't said it at the time, but I've tweeted it and some some like bot account on X today who just likes to bully people like clipped up mine and some other bloke because he just wants to wants to be like the prize pratt and highlight it. So, um yeah, it's out there. I said I can't delete it. So, you just got to man up like when you when you're when you're reactional, you you say you're reactional, don't you? But I want to make the content better, but I need the club to help me to be able to do it. And I also need probably another another sponsor because like I want to give up my my day job to be able to do this really. Hopefully my boss isn't tuning in. But in the ideal world, I want to do this full-time to cover it properly. I want to be able to do like the way I want to structure the week without giving too much away because someone to go copy me. But there's a way I want the week to structure and a day to structure. And it's really exciting and it's really good. But I can't do it unless I can get a big sponsor. But I need a I need a good sponsor. Glenn's too grumpy. He's a legend though. He's such a legend. He is like the housewife's favorite. There is no doubt about it. My mum's like a massive fan of his now as well. Um yeah, James, I am really really passionate. I got so much passion. It's um it's unbelievable. I've got so much passion. I love I love Saints. I love the fan base and I love I love the community as well. And I love connecting with you all. It's what it's it's what it's all about. And I want to do I want to do a podcast next year. I want to do two. So I've got the Saints unfiltered. I want to launch another podcast. Got a name for it, but it's a bit more indepth. So we're going to like look into sort of like more what's going on at the club. I want to focus on the women's team and bring that through.
Bring a guest from the women's team, a bit from the academy and look across the club. So a bit more of a across the club, you know, rising stars and maybe see who the rising stars and just like do something a bit different. And then we're going to bring a championship um podcast to the channel as well um with a couple of championship creators. So there'll be like a championship show every week because we know we're in the league. I've been chatting to a few people about it. There's some great content creators next year like Big P with West Ham. You've got um Talking Wolves. Dave from Talking Walls is brilliant. There's some really good creators. So what we can do is we can start bringing these together. Benjamin Bloom still covering the championship though it gone up. We still could get him on the channel because he covers the Championship. That is what exactly what I want to do. That's exactly where I want to take it. Maybe Robbie Li would um spend some time with me after the Champions League final. Give me some tips. That would be amazing, wouldn't it? E um quickly going to wrap up the show now. Last I tell you what, I'll go to 11. It's 55. 2255. We'll go to the top. We'll go to the top. Before you go, Martin, are you Tering or Ter? Like I've been going over this actually and I'm not and and I don't know how I feel about it. I'm not like dead against he has to go anymore because I was like he has to go but there's a there's loads of things that that are bugging me and playing on my mind. I think he's really good manager.
Done a really good job. His record's great. And we spoke, didn't we, earlier on about the um this J curve. We spoke about this earlier. you know, the shock, denial, the anger, blame, you you go into the depression, then you start to kind of accept it. That acceptance phase. Could we give this a go? Maybe it could work. And I'm very much like on the upward treachery at the moment.
That's kind of how I feel. So, I'm like I'm not like the majority of people want him to stay. So, I'm just like I just feel like I want to I think a lot needs to happen for him today. He needs to come out. I think he needs to apologize.
is I think we need to know a bit more as fans about his thinking and and why it happened. I think that there'd be an explanation and and I I do think we we'll get to the bottom of it. But then on the other hand, I don't like the sound of I don't like the bullying thing because that was how they referred to it. Was it wasn't it? But it they kind of made it out to be that way. Is there going to be more findings? So, I just think you have to you have to you just have Yeah, you have to be really balanced in it and that is kind of where where I'm staying is is is staying balanced but without being um yeah, one way or the other at the moment. I'm just going to see how it unravels. But yeah, I think the longer it goes on. Right.
This is something we I did want to shout out and it was something on my mind and you've just you've you've helped bring it to my attention. Uh, and I want to cover it and do a a rest in peace actually because um, yesterday Southampton and Royal Anwa paid tribute uh, following the death of former Southampton Academy player Victor Uda at the age of just 21 years old. This is tragic tragic story. This is he joined academy in February 2025 and spent six months with the club making eight appearances for the under21 side and Alfie Hy was a good player. Uh played in the Premier League 2 prior to his move to England. The Nigerian Winger came through the Antwarts Academy and featured 28 times for the Belgian club's senior team. Um, following his departure from Southampton in September, he signed for Czech second division club SK Dynamo. I can't pronounce the name of the club. Um, got no, I'm not even going to try and pronounce it. Um, in a statement shared on X yesterday, Southampton said that they were devastated by the tragic passing of former player Victor Udar at the age of 21. It's tragic, so sad. um the thoughts with uh with his family, his loved ones at an extremely difficult time. Um but played 27 times for the club's uh young side. He scored 12 goals before earning his senior debut at Anto. Um I didn't know that. So he was a good player.
Really, really good player. Really sad to sad to see that yesterday. And it puts everything into um perspective, doesn't it, in life. RIP indeed. Um, yeah, 21 years old. Dear me.
Unbelievable.
Mark, yes, good point that one. Um, well worth a read on my Facebook page.
I've linked it. There was um an article yesterday um by um an ex lawyer I think his what was his name? Is it Moiston?
Moist. Am I right in saying that? Um St. Nicholas Moiston. He's a Saints fan as well. And he went on to talk about um how the Southampton probably have a case against the EFL. Maybe that is what they're up to. Who knows? Who knows? But um yeah, really interesting article. Go check out my Facebook page and you'll see it. If you go down a little bit, you'll see it. But it is um it's well well worth a look. Too young indeed, Mark. Yeah, he was too young. Real sad.
Real sad. And it's not nice, is it? At all. Right, we are coming to the end of our show this evening. I've really enjoyed this. I hope you have too. We'll be back with some more content as and when stories break. If you're new here, make sure you subscribe. We've hit 10,000. We're on the way to 20 now. It's going to take a while. There's no doubt about that. But the momentum's there.
Like the video if you've enjoyed the content. Super hype here. And it looks like the majority of Southampton fans, you, the Southampton fans, want Ton Eker to remain as the Southampton manager. We will see how it unravels in the coming days. Stay tuned to the channel for all your latest Saints news, reactions, and everything else in between. Good night.
Goodbye. See you in the next one.
