[00:00:00]Inevitably people have a bad day in war and it's these guys' job to uh at any time of the day, any environment uh to go in there and and [music] and save people's lives.

[00:00:10]This is the first time that we've had a joint Air Force and Army combat search and rescue in [music] Afghanistan.

[00:00:18]For those that are that are flying missions every day, [music] they can they can rest a little easier or they can fight harder knowing that they have a group of highly motivated guys back here that will risk themselves to go get them.

[00:00:32]In this particular area of operations in in Bagram, the CH-47 or the Army Chinook is the best platform uh to conduct this mission.

[00:00:48]All aircrew members take as [music] a solemn vow that if you go down, there will be assets that will come and get you. And that's [music] a pararescueman vow. That's something that we've taken on and we take that vow very seriously.

[00:01:04]The benefit of having the Chinook integrated into the rescue squadron with the pararescuemen over other airframes is the space [music] and the power available in the high-altitude areas of Afghanistan.

[00:01:17]Here at Bagram uh we're surrounded by 12 to 13,000-ft [music] snowy mountains uh which aircraft have to fly over or through every single day uh to operate in and out of of Afghanistan.
