🤯🪫 New Brunswick Looming Energy Crisis - NB Power #newbrunswick #nbpower #enegycrisisAdded:
Part 10, this is the most concerning part of this entire picture. Regardless whether the data center is coming here or it gets turned down, the fact that we have a energy crisis looming in front of us regardless is very, very concerning because everybody's arguing about whether the data center will strain our power grid, but nobody is talking about the fact that our power grid is already failing without it. So, New Brunswick needs 60% more electricity by 2035, and that's not even because of the data centers. Right now, we need to generate more electricity by 2031 or else we're going to end up exceeding our yearly capacity.
And NB Power's debt is right now at $6 billion, and we are actually 270 MW below the NERC safety margin.
