Gym Says No Knife Allowed. He Says That’s Racist.

[00:00:00]I was racially profiled here, guys. And it's very, very sad. Look at my face in that video.  I couldn't believe what was happening, man. This has to be the craziest fake victim  story I've ever seen. And that's saying something.

[00:00:18]Hey guys, welcome back to the channel, your  home for independent and nonpartisan commentary and analysis of politics, media, and internet  insanity. And uh this last one is is a viral video. So we're going to talk about some truly  insane insane stuff. A story I've seen playing out online where a seek man, so a man who is  that is his religion is is he is a seek played the victim and cried discrimination on Tik Tok  after a gym in Canada wouldn't let him ring a knife in and and stay in with a knife visible that  was making people uncomfortable. and he's claiming race discrimination. I'm not joking. And there  the fallout from this is interesting, too. So, anyway, we'll watch his first video in just a sec,  but first, I'll just put this guy's information on screen so you know who we're talking about. He is  a a wannabe fitness influencer uh named Geratab Singh Kalsa. Sorry if I mispronounced that.  Uh but he is an aspiring fitness influencer, shall we say, and personal trainer apparently. Uh  yet he bought a day pass at a gym in Canada and then wanted to bring in his keron which to those  of us not familiar with the seek religion is just a knife by the way. So anyway, here's his video  where he's arguing with the woman at the counter after she asked him to leave with with the knife.  Let's watch. So you're kicking me out of the gym right now. Wait, you're kid. So, it's Good Life  Jim and uh the the caption he put on this, this video has millions of views, is racially singled  out by Good Life employee. Anyway, you're kicking me out of the gym right now because you are scared  that I'm going to take my religious symbol video.

[00:02:04]So, you're you're scared that I'm going to take  this religious symbol and kill somebody. What I'm saying is you have a weapon on your person.  A member has brought it to my attention and for the safety of me and everybody else in  the gym, I'm asking you to leave. But well, I don't understand though. I don't understand.  We're private gym. We're allowed to deny access and you're not allowed. But you allowed me in the  you you allowed me in the gym with the sun. Oh, you didn't see it? So you didn't see it? So  that's what I don't get. What What is he not understanding? What's not clocking to you, King?  Cuz this is extremely straightforward. They have a rule that you're not allowed to have weapons  in their gym. They're a private business. They can have that rule if they want. I'm personally,  like here in America, I'm not bothered by people who like concealed carry firearms with a license  or anything being in public businesses or venues.

[00:02:51]But if a private business doesn't want to allow  weapons, they're allowed to have that rule. And it has nothing to do with discriminating against  your religion or your race or anything like that.

[00:03:02]You can't have a neutral rule and then claim an  exception to it because it's your religion. No.

[00:03:09]Sorry. That's not how it works. Religion is  something you're entitled to practice however you want to, but that doesn't mean you get to play  to just break rules whenever you want. It's like that Family Guy clip where the trans woman is  sitting at the bar watching pornography and the bartender goes, "No pornography at the bar." And  she goes, "Oh, it's okay. I'm transgender." And then he goes, "Oh, never mind then. Do whatever  the you want all the time." It's like that clip, but he's applying that to his religion. That's not  how it works. Sorry. Not sorry. Anyway, he gets like sassy and rude with this employee like she's  the problem. Yeah. Maybe she didn't notice the blade when when you were walking in, right? You've  got lots of gear and stuff and it's just I believe it was publicly visible because another customer  saw it and it just looks like a sharp knife. Yeah.

[00:03:56]Obviously, that would make someone uncomfortable  and um if if it's against the policies, then they can ask you to leave and they're entirely in the  right. So, yet he's the victim, of course. Let's watch. So, what were you doing then? So, so what  do you do? What What do they pay you for? Oh my gosh. They don't They don't pay you. They don't  pay you to look around. They don't pay you to be aware. You just let any random person in the gym  then. You didn't see me walking with this. You're harassing me right now. I'm not harassing you. I'm  standing right here. I'm not harassing anybody.

[00:04:27]This is for the police officer.  This is like This is insane.

[00:04:34]Getting kicked out of the gym because these  guys are apparently saying that this pond is dangerous. Good life in Windsor. Good life in  Windsor. It's crazy. It was so crazy. It's so crazy that you're not allowed to bring a knife  and publicly display it in a gym. What part of that is crazy? And I love how he's berating the  woman as if like she's the real problem for not noticing it because she should have not I mean  maybe she should have noticed it when he came in but it's like that's not the main issue here  dude and you probably would have just accused her of racism then if she'd said when you came in that  you couldn't have a knife because that is clearly what you were looking for. But it's so funny  how he posted this on the internet and he really thought he was doing his big one and people were  going to be like oh my god you poor baby. you poor victim. But even like some other seek people were  like, "No, obviously you're in the wrong here, buddy." And then just generally the internet  was was not on his side. So one woman commented, "A Kurpan is dangerous." Another comment, "I'm on  her side. This isn't racist. She's kicking him out for the safety of others." Another comment, "Fair  enough. It's a weapon." That's the thing I don't understand about this is it's like I understand  it's a religious object of significance to you and you're entitled to that but it's like okay  that doesn't mean you can just do whatever you want and bring it anywhere you want all the time  other people are like I mean your religion could have anything religion could say that you're I  don't know smoking smoking is a key part of your religion how you connect with nature and burning  tobacco but then there if there's like a flammable place where you're not allowed to smoke cuz it  could be dangerous you can't just be like, "Well, it's my religion, so let me risk people's safety  or or you know, you're a bigot." That's not how religion works. It's not a get out of jail free  card to just break any rules you want. And what I hate about this is the sense of entitlement and  then the desire to be a victim is such a scourge, especially in the internet often rewards it,  and that's the problem. But in cases like this, it didn't reward it. He mostly got backlash and  negativity. So, he thankfully did realize that he was in the wrong and he apologized to the woman  and apologized to the business for putting them on blast and promised to be more reasonable.  And the You thought you actually thought you did that? Oh my god, that's hilarious. That's  adorable. You sweet, sweet, gullible child. Uh, actually, he doubled down on it all. Let's  watch uh his follow-up video. On July the 15th, I went to the Good Life in Windsor Google  location. I purchased the day pass.

[00:07:13]This girl working at the front fully saw  the way I looked, gave me access. Pause. So, his claim here is that he was racially profiled  at Goodl Life Fitness at this location. And yet, he acknowledges that the woman at the desk  saw the way he looked, sold him a day pass, welcomed him into the gym, and only asked him  to leave once somebody reported that he had a knife. And that's not allowed in their policies.  is they have a no weapons policy. So the crazy thing about this is that he just debunked his  own claim in real time because if he was actually being racially profiled, which would of course  be wrong, or racially discriminated against, which would of course be wrong and presumably  illegal, then she would have said, "Oh, sorry. We're not accepting day passes today." or  she would have like at the point of entry when she saw him and was saw that he appeared to be seek  or or some type of different ethnicity or whatever uh then she would have taken some sort of adverse  action then but she explicitly did not. She waited until it was reported to her that you were  breaking their neutral rules and yet you're still crying victim and suggesting racism. I  don't know how more obviously nondiscriminatory this instant this situation could be really. It's  not even an ambiguous situation. And the funniest thing about this is we have his side of the story.  All of this is the videos from his perspective in his telling. So presumably, right, there's other  details or there's another side of the story, but this is the strongest possible most sympathetic  version of his side of the story. And yet, no one sympathizes or feels bad for him at all because  he is so clearly the wrong in the wrong. It's actually remarkable. It's actually impressive this  level of delusion. Anyway, let's watch the rest of his video and then we've got an update from a  Canadian newspaper about the fallout. Let's watch.

[00:09:16]says, "I paid for the day pass. As I was working  out, she came up to me saying, "You have to leave the gym now because you were wearing a knife. What  were you doing at the beginning? Did you not see this knife was wearing?" Then I tried to explain.  He's like acting. He's He's saying this knife.

[00:09:31]And he's doing the scare quotes as if it's not  a knife. It's like very clearly a blade. It's a sharp knife. Just because it's like a religious or  ceremonial blade doesn't change the fact that it's a blade and you could hurt someone with it. And  they don't allow knives. Why are you gaslighting us, bro? You're saying, "Uh, oh, she saw my  knife." No, she she saw your knife. What? Anyway, uh, it's weird also that he's a trainer and then  he he's buying day passes to gyms. I don't really get that. I thought you would, if you're a  personal trainer, don't you have one gym you work through or work at or whatever? Or you have  memberships? Why would you be buying day passes?

[00:10:09]But I guess that's immaterial. Anyway, we'll  watch the rest of this and then get to that newspaper update. Tried to explain to her under  the human rights code, I am legally allowed to carry this. She refused. She went on to say, why  can't I carry a gun? I said, guns are illegal. I am legal to wear this. Then she said, if you don't  leave, I'm going to call the police. So, I said, call the police. I waited there. The police didn't  show up, so I just left. So, again, I was racially profiled here, guys. No, you were not. And it's  very, very sad. Good life out of all places. I would never expect that, man. I was actually  heartbroken. Look at my face in that video. I couldn't believe what was happening, man. Come on,  guys. Okay, so there's a couple details there that are interesting. What is it? The police never  came. What do you mean the police never came?

[00:11:00]Canada, are you okay? Cuz if you're if you're  the police, you're the 911 operator. we have an unruly male patient uh client who's yelling  at us because he has a knife and he won't leave uh and he I'm scared. It'd be like, "Oh, shouldn't  the police be there ASAP?" I have questions about that. I don't know. Maybe we could revisit that  in the future because what what's going on here?

[00:11:26]But the the other detail that he acknowledges is  he or he claims is well, I'm allowed legally to carry carry this. And that may be true. He may be  legally generally allowed to carry the ceremonial blade. That doesn't mean you can carry it  everywhere. The same way that the same way that in the United States, I'm not familiar with  the Canadian Human Rights Code, so I'm not going to opine on that. But in in in the States, if you  have a concealed carry permit to carry a firearm, there are still locations that it doesn't apply  to. You can't bring it into certain buildings or kinds of stores or what have you, like you can't  bring it into a bar usually or or other places.

[00:12:02]Um, and then also a private business still has  the right to say you can't bring it in here. So you see that sometimes here in Miami where you  can get a concealed carry permit, you can carry it most places, but if a particular store owner  doesn't want people to bring guns in, they have a no weapons sign on the front door and at that  point you're not allowed to bring it in. Even though you it's legal for you to carry the gun,  it's legal for you to bring it lots of places, but that private business still has the right to  set their own rules within their storefront. So it's just not clocking to him. I mean, we're we're  quite clearly not dealing with the brightest bulb, but I'm sure I'm he's just going to say I'm being  racist against him or something, though. Again, this has absolutely nothing to do with his race  or his religion. It is a totally neutral rule, but these people are I don't know. There there is  an epidemic and it's has nothing to do with people of a certain race or religion or anything, but  of just people who want to be victims and think they're entitled to do whatever they want all  the time. And I I'm absolutely sick of it. Now, the update from the Toronto Sun because there was  some fake news going around and Alex Jones and other people were spreading it that this woman got  fired and it shows the Muslim invasion of Canada or whatever even though he's seek not Muslim. But  anyway, there was this narrative that was being pushed that turns out to not be true. The woman  was not fired. Uh and so sounds like the right outcome is happening here. Uh here's the reporting  from Toronto Sun. Ontario gym stands by staffer after seek man ordered to leave for wearing  kerpan. Goodlife fitness confirms the employee who challenged Gerpata Singh Kalsa will not be fired.  Uh anyway, in a statement, Goodl Life Fitness confirmed to the Toronto son that the employee who  challenged Tik Tocker Gerop Singh Kalsa's decision to wear his ceremonial dagger at the gym wasn't  fired as some social media chatter had suggested.

[00:13:50]No one has been or will be terminated as a result  of the interaction in our Windsor Club. Read the statement from Goodl Life VP Tracy Matthews.  To the Sun in information to the contrary is false. We continue to support our employees and  the entire Goodlife community. Goodlife fitness, the statement continued, provides a welcoming  and safe community, and we will continue to strive to maintain that environment for everyone  who comes to our clubs. So, there you have it. Uh the narrative online. And again guys, don't don't  just believe stuff you see on X on social media.

[00:14:19]People love to just engagement bait and post the  most outlandish thing. And half the time it's just made up. So look to an actual source. She was not  fired. Uh luckily nothing unjust or wrong has come out of this. And um this guy is getting roasted  and panned across the internet. So for once, kind of a good story if you ask me.
