Why some Black members "endure to the end" despite church racism

[00:00:08]Striving for that eternal life by going through the temple and doing all they need to do.

[00:00:15]Knowing that the history of the church is what it is.

[00:00:20]And the lingering racism that still exists.

[00:00:24]Because of the church spreading all this complete to the members early on.

[00:00:33]Why songs? Randy, I have this conversation a lot. Um, because I still have a family member who's an active member and the way that she sees it and probably a few others um is that, you know, she's to endure to the end. And that um the persecution that you experience in this lifetime makes it better for you in the afterlife.

[00:00:55]So that what you're doing is preparing yourself for being an exalted being in another life. And this is part of the things that you have to suffer and endure. Here um a family member talking about like, you know, just the ignorant things that are heard every Sunday that are so racist and people don't see it and they're not, you know, but she believes at some point they'll come around and maybe it's because of her influence and her example.
