This update offers a grounded look at the "post-miracle" phase of GLP-1 therapy, highlighting the meticulous calibration needed to balance metabolic stability with daily quality of life. It serves as a necessary reality check that long-term weight management is an ongoing biological negotiation rather than a one-time fix.

GLP-1 Maintenance Update: Side Effects, NSVs & Switching to Monthly InjectionsAdded:
I got a lot of living to do before I die, and I don't have time to waste.
GLP-1 update coming up.
I am in such a great mood today. I love it. I love it. I love it. I love it. And so, if this is your first time ever coming to my channel, my name is Miss Toy the Review. You can call me Miss Toy. I would love to have you be part of my glow up crew. That's what I call my subscribers, my glowies. And to my glow up crew, hey, how y'all doing? Glad to have you back. So, I am in maintenance.
I have lost over 100 lb with the help of Zepbound. And so, right now, I am just trying to maintain my weight. I have been on this journey for 2 and 1/2 years. I am currently in my third year, and I am figuring this thing out as I go along in this maintenance game. And so, I want to just talk to you all for a few minutes just about how my week has been going.
So, just to give you just a little bit of back information, I have been taking my medication bi-weekly for a year and a half out of my 2 and 1/2 year Well, I'll say I've been taking my medication bi-weekly for 2 years out of my 2 and 1/2 years of being on the medication.
And so, once I got to maintenance, I decided, you know what? Let me try to up it to once a month instead of bi-weekly.
And so, I was doing that for a while. I think I did it for maybe the first month, and then after that I titrated up to 10 because I wanted to lose 10 more pounds in my maintenance journey just so I can have a little bit of wiggle room to, you know, maneuver cuz as your weight fluctuate. And so, I wanted to stay in between 150 and 160 or 155 to 160.
And so, that's why I titrated up to 10.
Now, I don't really want to stay at 10 at all because when I was on 7.5, I did not have any side effects and I love that I did not have any side effects. So, with 10 it's not bad, but I do still have a little bit of side effects meaning I'm very fatigued on 10 and I just experience a little bit of nauseous, but nausea, but not a lot, okay? So, I'm excited to go back to 7.5.
This is my last shot of 10, so I will be taking it this week and then after that I will be done with 10 and I will be moving on to 7.5. So, I'm really excited about that, happy about it.
And so, we'll see how that goes.
And so, anywho, I'm looking down at my notes.
You might can't see cuz I got my glasses on, but I always have notes just to keep me on on task or whatever. So, I want to share with you all a non-scale victory.
So, I was like, "Ooh, I think, you know, when I got on the scale this morning, I was like, "Oh, this could be a non-scale victory." And so, it's not the weight of the scale. I have a Renpho scale and on my Renpho scale, I was already geeked about my Renpho scale, you guys, cuz the Renpho scale had me at like I think it had me at 40.
And I was like, okay. I I'm not 40, baby, so I I take 40. And I was like, okay, cuz you know, everybody when I see them talk about the Renpho scale, it always have them older than what they are. But mine had me significantly younger than what I was than what I am, I should say. And so, I was like, okay, I can go with 40.
I got on the scale this morning and my number has went down. And I am Now they're saying I'm 39. I was like, I'll take it. Hey. Hey, I'll take it.
I'll take it. 39. Hey. Yes.
So, that's my non-scale victory. I said, I You know what? The Renpho scale is all right with me. I don't care what nobody say. They can come and hate in the comments. That Renpho scale is not accurate.
I don't care. I'm going with what Renpho talking about. All right? So, that's my non-scale victory.
So, side effects.
I took the 10 2 weeks ago because like I said, I take my medication for maintenance monthly, but when I titrated up for 10, I took it bi-weekly. One because I was having side effects, so I think it I was um The reason I was having side effects is cuz I was spreading the medication out too long for that high dose. So, that's why I went to bi-weekly.
Um once I go back to 7.5, I'll go back to my monthly because I do well with once a month on 7.5. I don't have any side effects doing it. So, anyhow, which I have talked to my doctor about this and I'm not a doctor, I'm not a nurse, I'm not in the medical field and whatever I'm doing is just sharing my journey. I'm not telling you to do it.
I'm not advising you to do what I do, okay? You do you, I do me.
So, any who, my side effects I I have felt a little fatigue, but you know, I feel fatigue on on the 10 mg. And so, I do take MIC B12. It works when it works, okay? I don't I think if you really fatigue, I don't know if the MIC B12 is the answer. It helps out a little bit, but it is what it is. So, I take my MIC B12. I take it back-to-back. So, you can take your MIC B12. It said on my Well, it said on my prescription that you can take MIC B12 twice a week, okay? So, I take mine back-to-back. So, next week what I think I'm going to do is I am going cuz you you could take 200 units of it. So, I take 100 unit on Monday and then I do another 100 unit on Tuesday. But I think next week what I'm going to do, I'm going to still only do 200 unit, but I'm going to do 50 units a day instead of doing 100. So, that way I can do it 4 days a week. And I want to see how that works with my body. Maybe spreading it out throughout the week it help me with my energy instead of just giving myself those two big amounts, you know, 2 days back-to-back. So, I'm going to try it out next week and see how it work, okay?
And I'll come back and let y'all know.
Now, my appetite, okay? Regarding my appetite, I was doing pretty good, but yesterday I will say my appetite has picked up a little bit and even though in maintenance you can eat a little more you got a little more calories you can add but I just noticed that I wanted to eat a little more or whatever. So I had ate my lunch. I didn't bring a lot for lunch but I ate my lunch and then afterwards cuz I'm a teacher and this week is teacher appreciation week. So make sure you show whatever your child's teacher some love, okay?
And if you are educator happy teacher appreciation week to you.
So anyhow, they've been doing little things for us every day. Matter fact, I don't know if they did nothing for us today. I can't remember. But anyway, every day they was doing a little something for us every single day and so today yesterday they did nachos because you know it was Cinco de Mayo or whatever. So they did nachos and I just went I you know I just got some tortilla chips, put some cheese on this salsa and maybe a couple um jalapeno peppers.
[clears throat] So that was it.
But when I tell you I tore it up, I tore it up. So I was like, okay well, I ate these nachos. This probably will be my dinner and I was going to the basketball game. I took my dad to the Pistons basketball game cuz the Detroit Pistons are now in the playoffs. So I was excited that I was able to take my dad to a playoff game and so I got my little shirt. They gave us these shirts. They was on our seats or whatever.
I don't know you can't see it but it says playoffs 2026.
And so it's kind of big but you know cuz it's like one size. I think they all were like extra large or whatever. And so that was exciting. So when I got to the game I I like, listen, it is Cinco de Mayo.
I want to have me a margarita cuz it's it's, you know, I just want to celebrate." And I already had my nachos, so I was good with the nachos. So, I got me a margarita.
And baby, it was good. And so, I got the margarita, no sugar, no salt, or nothing like that on the rim.
And afterwards, you know, the game was still going on. And I when I went halftime, I went to the restroom. And if it wasn't because those lines were so long, I would have definitely gotten in line and got me some popcorn. Now, I didn't want any fried food cuz I still really I can't eat no fried food on this medication. But I did want something to snack on. So, I was like, "Man, I want something to snack on." And the last time I went to the game, I didn't feel like that. But this time, I really did want something to snack on. But like I said, the lines were so long that I just said, "Forget it." So, I ate a piece of gum cuz I had some peppermint gum in my bag. I just ate that and called it a day. So, it is what it is. So, yeah, my my appetite did increase some this week. And so, I do take my I think I'm going to take my medication either Friday Yeah, I'll probably take it Friday. I'm thinking I'm going to take it Friday.
I'm definitely not going to take it Thursday. So, anyway, this is my last shot of the 10, and I'm so excited. I'm so happy to go back to 7.5.
And it's and it's because I don't have side effects. Like I said before, and that's a big deal to me cuz I will tell you, when you get to maintenance now, when you're in a weight loss journey, I mean, nobody wants side effects, okay? Let's just be honest.
Nobody wants side effects, but you can deal with it a little better when you're losing weight. But when you're in your maintenance journey, you do not want to deal with side effects because at this point you're just trying to maintain your weight or whatever. So, you just want to have a comfortable living, you know? You don't want to be feeling nauseous and fatigued every single week. You want to start feeling like yourself and all of this other stuff. So, that's why I feel like 7.5 would really be a great dose for me to do my maintenance. It would be awesome if I could go down to a 5, but right now I'm going to kind of stick this, you know, ride this 7.5 on out. Okay. And so, also I want to show you all I found I don't know if you all eat Quest chips and I might be late to the party, okay? I know it. I know it, okay?
So, you ain't got to tell me if I'm late to the party. But, I didn't I've never seen these chips. So, I found when I went to the store I found these Quest pizza flavored uh chips. I'm so excited.
I am so excited to try these and see how they taste. And I love these Sola I like the cinnamon raisin Sola bread bagels.
These are the bagels.
And I really like them, but when I tell you they sell out so fast I'm going to tell you something. The reason why I know so many people are on the GLP-1 because it's certain foods that most people that are on GLP-1s are eating. We kind of eat the same type of foods. And when I tell you when I go and try to get certain foods that I know a lot of people in the community are eating they are sold out. They sell like so fast.
And I'm like, you know what? Everybody and their mama on GLP-1s. I already know it. I know it by what they're picking out in the grocery stores, okay? I know by what's selling out in the grocery stores, okay? It's all the foods that we talk about on this doggone YouTube. All right? But anyway, I'm excited because I haven't had these in a couple of weeks cuz every time I went to go purchase some, they were sold out. So, I bought two of them.
I usually would only buy one, but I was like, I need one for a couple of weeks so I don't have to worry about it.
But anyway, regarding my weight, I think last week I had went down to like 157.
I had been staying in between 160 and 165, and then last week I kind of No, I think the week before I went to 159, and then the week after that I dropped down to 157.
I believe it was 157.
And so, this week I went back up, but I was like 157.something.
I can't remember.
And so, this week I weighed myself today this morning, and I was at like 158.
something. So, that's pretty good. So, when you're in maintenance, when you're in main maintenance, you I you usually have a range. So, for me, I I only can talk for myself. I have a range of where I want my weight to fluctuate. And so, if it if it fluctuate within that window, you're doing great. So, you don't it gives you that freedom to not have to stress about your weight anymore. So, I'm fluctuating in between that. So, I don't mind. Like I said, I really want 150 to 160, but I am also happy with 155 to 160.
So, with me being at 158, I am still in that window of 155 to 160.
So, I'm good. I'm happy, no complaints.
I'm maintaining. I feel like I'm maintaining well.
And life is good. So, I am not going live this week, but I will be going live again next week. Can't wait to chat it up with you all. And that is all. That is it. That is all. Until next time.
Bye.
