[00:00:00]New York City hotels and union leaders reach a historic wage agreement.

[00:00:04]>> Here's Howard Duckus. Good morning. A widely expected World Cup hotel strike has apparently been averted. New York hotels and unions have reached an 8-year contract agreement covering 27,000 workers at more than 200 hotels. The deal raises wages an average 5% each year, which means by the end of the contract housekeepers will make six figures. Medical benefits will rise to cover 30% of payroll. The ratification vote is tomorrow. On the management side, some 45 hotels are still to agree.

[00:00:41]For the first time in eight tries, Senate Democrats have won a war powers vote that could force President Trump to halt military action in the Persian Gulf. Four Republicans crossed over this time. The new crossover was Bill Cassidy, whom Trump opposed for re-election and who lost his Republican primary. Cassidy remains in office until next January. So does Kentucky Republican Thomas Massie, whom Trump also successfully opposed after Massie pushed for release of the Epstein files.

[00:01:14]Delta had a problem Tuesday night over Europe. A flight from New York to Milan had an engine fire and passenger cabins lost power while the pilots diverted to Paris. No injuries reported. After losing 322 points yesterday, the Dow is up more than 500 points this morning.
