Cultural stereotypes often arise from limited interactions and can lead to misunderstandings between different nationalities; for example, French people may perceive Australians as rude due to their shy and reserved nature, while Australians may find French people rude due to their direct communication style, highlighting the importance of understanding cultural differences in social behavior and communication norms.

The Australian who survived a French interrogation | SOSO TALKHinzugefügt:
I'm so I'm so stressed.
>> [gasps] >> This is funny. I'm so stressed.
[laughter] You look stressed.
>> When we are introducing ourselves, we are saying the job, the age, and >> Mhm.
I I think we don't really care about it.
Like [laughter] Freddy >> don't have a job. And he doesn't have any job, so and Freddy is Australian.
Yeah, mate. I want to know what Australians Mhm. are thinking about Aussies are fake. What do you think about it?
What do you think about Australians are fake?
I think some of them are, for sure.
Reality TV stars are pretty well fake. How do you feel about it? Like when when people are saying like Australians are fake?
I mean, I wouldn't get too offended.
Yeah, you don't care.
>> It's like, "Oh, yeah. I can see why some people would say that." You are not fake. I think it's just because you are so nice. Guys, every time when we are going in a cafe or in a shop, you are saying, "Hello, darling. Hello, mate."
>> You are so so so nice. Mhm. And so I think that's why people like me from France, Mhm. we are a bit surprised about it. French are rude. French are rude. It's a funny stereotype.
But do you think it's true? You can say yes.
>> Not all French people, but But me.
Yeah, but definitely not.
I think there's definitely some Parisians who I've found rude.
But Like all of the people from Paris are going to be so upset and uh Wah, wah. But subscribe to the channel, please. Subscribe. I feel like it definitely stood out more when I was in Western Australia, where you know, you'd be going to these very remote pubs, and part of the whole like culture is that you sit there and chat with the bar staff.
>> Mhm.
And I just remember yeah, a couple people like were quite rude. They're working there, and then it was like, "Okay, I wonder where they're from?" And then like start asking questions. They're from Paris, and I was like, "Oh, okay, you know."
Made a little bit of sense.
So, when you when you are thinking we are rude, why? Like Like in general, why people think we are rude? Because we don't speak.
We are not welcoming. Yeah, yeah. They think we are shy. We are not rude. We are shy.
Scared.
Okay. I think Yeah.
That's why. That's why. What are the things you appreciate about France? The lifestyle.
>> What is a French lifestyle for you?
>> Well, you know, glass of rosé in the afternoon.
>> [laughter] [gasps] >> A rosé.
Food and cheese, limited breakfast.
I mean, it feels like it is taking things slow in a certain way.
Oh, you think so? Yeah. I did like in France how there was just, no separation like treatment separation in terms of guys and girls.
Um Mhm. Everywhere [clears throat] it's boys and girls. Most like a lot of the schools are. So, it's a bit of a weird culture in that regard, and I came back from France when I was 12, and I found it quite hard to adjust from how that was to being in Sydney. That's why I think then some Australian men are not really making the first steps because I've heard so much >> Mhm. especially girls from from France or from South America complaining about the fact that Australians are laid back. They are not You know, they like it's like they are waiting for the woman to chase them. Yeah.
>> Like they don't want to make the first steps, but I think it's maybe because you are not used to be surrounded by women.
Yeah.
>> I think. There's That's definitely a big part. But the other thing is Or you want to be chased?
>> [laughter] >> I mean, it's always nice, you know.
Um but tall poppy syndrome is like a massive thing in Australian culture. So What is it? Tall poppy syndrome? Tall poppy syndrome?
>> So if someone is, you know, putting themselves out there or like maybe slightly you know, like growing too tall, really. Okay. So you know, they're excelling at something everyone else loves to cut them down.
Definitely growing up when there was any like Okay, let's say I was interested in a girl and you know, all your mates would make fun of you or interrupt you, try and embarrass you, to try and cut you down. So it's like >> I see.
I have the feeling that you are not stressed about anything.
Is it a feeling or is it >> stressed, but I guess we just don't really show it. You are less stressed than French people. I'm not going to lie. I think really you are less stressed.
Like Yeah, that's why you are not smoking.
Like look, I don't smoke anymore now.
Nice. Well done. Yeah. I still vape.
You still vape?
Yeah.

How is it now? 18, 19, like 17, 16, all those years I wasn't having a good time of it, but as I've gotten older it's gotten better.
