The video presents a remarkable statistical recovery, but such rapid macroeconomic shifts often require deeper scrutiny regarding their long-term structural sustainability. It is a compelling look at policy-driven stabilization, provided the data translates into lasting institutional strength.

GHANA’S UNPRECEDENTED Economic Turnaround SHOCKINGAdded:
Ghana's unprecedented economic turnaround shocking is unprecedented.
And when we say something is unprecedented, it means it never happened. This is the first time it's happening. Hey, the American dollar anytime it sees the Ghanaian city, it starts to sweat and fret.
The American dollar has learned to respect the Ghanaian city. The economy has become buoyant.
Businesses are flying high. Ghanaians have become prouder. My brother, MY SISTER, HOW THESE PEOPLE WERE able to do it is still something that should be enshrined right in the Guinness Book of Records.
HEY, FOR EIGHT SOLID YEARS, GHANAIANS suffered in the hands of a Herculanian dictator, her coolian economic misappropriator.
And I am talking about Nana who brought on a confused economist, my brother, my sister, who was still doubt if he passed his economist papers properly. BOMIER BOMIER CAME AS THE ECONOMIC GURU. WE ALL FOLLOWED him like zombies. I went to sit with him in his house and I was happy the economic terms that he was unleashing. A brother of mine would do so well. Oh, what a great guy. We were proud that our own brother from the northern region, in fact, an area that is so so so so cut away from economic prosperity engineered by the colonial thieves. My brother, my sister, in the days of slavery, OVER 80% OF ALL THE SLAVES who came out of this nation came from the north.
It's a fact. My brother, my sister, now watch this. If the North all of a sudden is producing great economists, oh producing great guys like Bomia, we all were excited.
Little did we know that they were squas.
BOMIA CAME INTO ACTION. HEY, the first thing he did was to change HIS PHONE NUMBER. ALL the people who were running around him and supporting him, he cut them off because he had become more important than every other person. And I don't forgive people like that.
I am a humble man and my brother, my sister in humility will remain till the end of life. This is public service.
This is when you should even make your phone line public. OF COURSE, IN A COUNTRY WHERE A MILLION BEGGARS will run after a man who just jumped into office, you can expect that there will be pressure. But pressure does not mean to become an ostrich.
Run away from responsibilities. You opted to be IN PUBLIC SERVICE. FACE IT.
NOBODY FORCED YOU. WHY ARE YOU RUNNING AWAY? EH, MY BROTHER, MY SISTER, NOW WATCH THIS.
NOW BALIA CAME IN as the boss of the economic team. Hey the city started to hemorrhage after some time. Ghanaians started to cry especially during the second turn of Adama.
Long story cut short. Oh my god. The irresponsible guys that day are he always said that he was just the mate.
Relegating the office of the vice president to the office of the mate.
My brother, my sister, and now he said we should vote him so that he will become the driver. We said no and he will be in political oblivion until Jesus Christ arrives. Hallelujah.
NP never again.
HEY, NOW WATCH THIS.
THE ECONOMIC GURU was not able to deal with it. The people we believe could deal with THE ECONOMY FOR EIGHT SOLID YEARS. THEY ENDED UP PILING up individuals who allegedly stole our money and in in America right now looking for citizenship.
My brother, my sister, HEY, AS IF THAT WAS NOT ENOUGH, THEY GAVE US HAIRCUTS.
UNPROFESSIONAL HAIRCUTS.
HEY, top your jaw. That looked like top your bosses. MY GOD. HEY, THEY SHAVED US as if we're at Ganamo Bay.
age. What was this? PEOPLE STARTED TO DIE in their droves. Old men and women who had retired and believed in their nation and had given money to the NATION SO THE NATION COULD USE that for business and give them something small.
They started dying with underlining diseases and sicknesses. They didn't care.
They were preparing for their retirement.
Now when they left the economy was beyond junk. X-rated junk. My brother look can I tell you something? When you go to the toilet and excuse this language, THERE ARE SOME TOILETS YOU PASS BY. YES, they smell bad. That there are some that smell worse than others. True or false?
True or false? I will take you to Nema and you will know THAT THERE IS A difference in toilets.
Nana Ado and Balia left us WITH AN ECONOMY THAT WAS THE WORST TOILET EVER AND THE WHITE MAN DECIDED TO nickname it X-rated junk.
JUNKER.
WHY SHE ANTIPATE?
X-rated junk, UNCLOTHED JUNK, naked junk.
And when they were leaving power, hey, that was when they were throwing money around for us to vote them again. They had the a fever sense of arrogance to tell us that they were breaking the eight. WHAT A GET OUT of here.
You think they here to joke?
WE KICKED THEM OUT AND TOLD THEM WE WE WE would never entertain them.
Mahama came. To be honest with you, I had no confidence that Mama would be able to hit the ground running the way he run. I knew that at the end of the day something would happen, but I never thought it would be this quick. Within one year, we started smiling. The doomsaw that they said would hit us never came. Hey, the dollar started running away from the city. And the CITY WAS SAYING, "COME HERE." IT WAS RUNNING.
COME HERE. YOU WANT TO FIGHT? COME HERE.
AND TODAY, my brother, my sister, Ghanaians are proud that they have an economy that is a semblance of a human being, not the X-rated junk they gave to us.
Sammy Ji is a gentleman that I love.
When he talks, he makes a lot of sense, my brother, my sister. He makes a lot of sense.
I love his style.
Sometimes I watch him and I tell myself at his age if I was fluent like this, my God by now I should be sitting on a certain throne and on that throne I would be woripped as the king of economics.
This is Sami.
He was born in the late 80s.
HE'S A BONO AND boy to be very specific. He's a lawyer.
My brother, my sister.
Over the weekend, he decided to speak.
And when he spoke, like the accounts would say, He spoke. I marveled at his eloquence.
Even Bomir cannot stand the power and might of this little dude.
IF BALIA HAD A BIT of the KNOWLEDGE OF THIS GUY, and I said with no apology, A BIT OF THE ECONOMICS knowledge of this guy, the fluency, the fluidity THAT THIS GUY HAS, I'M TELLING YOU that by now Balia would have told us to crown him king of kings and lord of lords of economics.
I'm going to take you into the studios, our own studios, TV 3, as he spoke to Alfredo Cance, my colleague, and he was debunking some things deputy had brought up on the table. My brother, my sister, watch the action.
What Iman Emani's president said was simple. The deputy president he said which is beautiful. If you cut your tongue and you eat it, that is no meat.
My brother, my sister, translated into English, it simply means you cannot cut your nose to spite your face.
Listen to what Sam said.
And when we return, we'll go into action. Watch this.
You see first of all to appreciate this discussion you need to put the issues in the right perspective. You need to know where we are coming from. Afred and I need your attention.
What was the state of the economy that the NBC government, the Mahama government, the Johnson aama le B the atforson le ministry of finance inherited from the MPP on 7th January 2025 afford that is you see you need to we need to remind ourselves and that takes stock of where we are and then we can appreciate this discussion of losses for me that is a starting point we took over an economy where the CD in 2024 depreciated by 19%. In 2022, let me go three years back and give you a trajectory, the CD depreciated by 30%.
In 2023, the CD depreciated by 27.8%.
In 2024, the CD depreciated by 19%.
In the retail dollar cash market, you needed 16 CDs to get $1. At the inter bank level as a December 2024 you need a 14.75 pesos 14 75 pesos to get $1. The Ghana city was one of the worst performing currencies in the world by 2022 2023 2024 worst performing currencies in the world. inflation, which is one of the biggest regressive taxes in any economy because it eros disproportionately the incomes of households and affects the poor even more than it affects the rich. Inflation was 54% in 2022 by December 2022.
Inflation came to 23.2 in 2023 and by 2024 went up to 23.8. Eight inflation food inflation by the time we came into office food inflation and when we talk about inflation we are talking about the rate of increase in general price level of goods and services over time and here I'm talking about one year food inflation was 27% when we came into office lending rates the average lending rate that banks will lend money to a business was over 30%. Are you listening?
Debt, our public debt had ballooned from 120 billion cities in 2016 to 726 billion by December 2024. 726 billion.
Debt to GDP from 2022 was over 100%.
That is how come the whole country became bankrupt, debt insolvent. And we had to appropriate the monies of people who had lent to government including pensioners through what they called domestic debt exchange program. Do you remember that? And by the time the MPP was leaving off his debt to GDP was 61%.
Our credit rating was junk baller economy.
This is the economic mess. We inherited an economy in tatis. When we took office, President Mama said, "We knew the problem. We promised to fix it. It is not time to lament. We promise a reset. Let's reset the economy." And in just one year, one year of this reset agenda, we have delivered the most remarkable, the most outstanding economic turnarounds ever recorded by any country, okay, in history. You are talking about in just one year the currency that was had depreciated over the last three years 2022 2023 2024 by cumulatively 77%.
Now NDC comes and in 2025 the currency appreciates by 41%.
>> Which the bank of Ghana had to pay the price for >> the bank of Ghana is the one managing the currency. So they are the pivots. So when we say CD now if you're a businessman and you're looking for dollars and under the MP at the interbank level $10,000 would have cost you $140,750 or maybe 140,000 thereabout because the dollar was uh 14.7 >> as of December.
>> So as of December 2025 you will need 10.45 100,400 and something you will get it. You're saving about 43,000 CVs on $10,000. Multiply that by the millions and look at the relief that has provided to BDC's who bring in oil products, businesses who bring in sugar, who bring in rice. Look at the relief. Who did that work? Central Bank of Ghana. Okay.
So the city that has been that was depreciating for 3 years cumulatively 77% now appreciate 41%. First time in decades, many decades. The city that was the worst performing currency in the world, one of the worst now becomes one of the best performing currencies in the world.
the talk of town being celebrated across the globe. The best performing currency in Africa inflation rate that was 23.8%.
Eh now declines for 15 consecutive months in 2025 12 consecutive months to 3.4%.
In fact 5.4% now 3.4% but as of December 2025 5.4% 4% inflation food inflation moves from 27% to 4.9%.
Lending rate that was over 30% now comes to the low 20%.
Are are you listening to this? The public debt reduces from 726 billion in one year to 641 billion by December 2025. A reduction of 85 billion in the public debt. Why? because the city has appreciated and so the foreign component the dollar part of the debt has come down who did the work central bank are you listening to this debt to GDP from 6 61% to 45%. Our credit rating that was baller junk rated Audi restricted default now is rated what only yesterday B with a positive outlook when in your in your in your lifetime did you remember Ghana's economy being rated B are you telling me that the central bank that was the main pivot for achieving this economic turnaround one of The main pivot should have delivered this outstanding remarkable economic turnaround without incurring cost and that this turnaround should have been free >> and all of this is this what enough justification for the >> it's not about justification we've seen it's not about justification >> because the minority holds the view let's not stability in numbers does not mean the stability in life >> go and tell that to the businessman who needed 16 Ghana cities in the retail market for $1 and by December 202 25 with 11 CDs in that same retail market, he could get $1. So now the problem with Bomia was that they are told so many lies.
The economy was not doing well. You cannot market a bad product. At the end of the day, people would get to see it.
Now when you have a good product and you know what you are about you'll be fluent like this chap here called Sami Ji.
I admire this guy so much. Sometimes I just watch him in awe.
Look at the statistics he gave coming out of his head. My brother, my sister, just like that we inherited a baller economy.
An economy that had gone beyond Tatis.
They said they had the men. THEY BROUGHT BOMIER ALL the way FROM THE WORLD BANK FROM WHICHEVER BANK in the world. They brought him IN THERE. ALAN CASH AND ALL THOSE PEOPLE, they brought him in there.
At the end of the day, what did we achieve? Baller economy.
Baller economy.
And within one year, as you heard Sami Ji say, the economy has turned around.
AND IS SO SHOCKING THAT CONNOISSEURS of the game have rated Ghana B+.
It's never happened in the history of the world that AN ECONOMY THAT HAS BEEN so tarted, destroyed, mangled could rise within one year to B+. That's crazy.
From about 16 GHANA CITIES TO $1. NOW IT CAME ALL THE way down to about 10.
Remember they told US THAT ONCE MAMA COMES INTO power the city would go to 25 to a dollar. Do we remember?
Incompetent people always want to find a way of making people think they are competent by calling other people incompetent. How many people see that?
Now this is WHAT IT IS. LOOK AT THE STATISTICS.
LOOK AT WHAT GHANAIANS ARE BENEFITING.
And the point we are making this evening is very simple. THIS IS UNPRECEDENTED.
IT'S NEVER HAPPENED in the history of this nation. In fact, it's historical around the world and deserves to be put in the Guinness Book of Records. Now called Guinness World Records.
My brother, my sister, we should be saying thank you to the managers of the economy. So, Bank of Ghana made losses. Of course, Bank of Ghana is the manager of the economy.
Those losses went into the pockets of Ghanaians.
We incurred lo what you call losses.
That's the price we pay for building a solid economy. If you needed about 17 Ghana cities to buy a dollar, now you need 10. The six extra cities that you pocket is what they are calling losses is power to the people.
Is power to the people.
THAT IS WHAT IT IS. AND GHANA ARE PROUD NOW. EVEN enemies of the party in power cannot hide from the truth that the economy is better. Why couldn't Bomia do it? Oh, CO. Covid came as if we were the only country in the world that had CO.
While other countries were doing well, we were going down crying, co. We were not creative enough to be able to work around it. Yet, we are those who speak the biggest English in the world.
Now, these people came WITH THE TUS OF the economy. They rose it from the dust all the way to where it is with young affable men and women in power. Do they not deserve a huge applause?
Yes, we have some excesses and those excesses have to be dealt with with time. I am sure the way we are going this country is even going to get better. To Sami and his boys, I want to say congratulations to you.
Yes, I can feel it. I don't remember the last time anybody went out there to get dollars and then they had to pay 16 except when the NP was in power. Now it is lower and we are happy.
We are happy. Are you not happy? Food prices HAVE COME DOWN. GO into the shops.
CHECK. INFLATION HAS GONE DOWN. People keep money happily, they are buying things that they love and the economy is going to get better as long as we are able to deal with the issue of patriotism.
For the average Ghanaian, it is a duty of the government to fix the economy. But you as a citizen, what is your duty? YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO PAY TAXES. HOW MANY OF US PAY TAXES? THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO even tell you on TV, "Oh, me, I won't tell you how much I I I I make all because I don't want to pay taxes." The tax people run after me. You should be proud to tell us. Let the tax people come for their tax. If you don't want to mention it, then is for some other reasons. It shouldn't be for tax reasons.
Citizens must also play their role.
Patriotism is the way. Ghana's unprecedented economic turnaround is truly shocking. Not only shocking, it's unprecedented.
Never ever seen in the history of this country and the history of the world. In one year, from a junk economy to a B+ economy, this is magic. Raw and red is the black pot aka.
And here we speak truth to
