The video neatly packages complex trauma theory into a digestible loop, though it risks reducing deep psychological pain to a simple marketing flowchart. Itโs a clever use of scientific jargon to give a self-help brand an air of intellectual authority.

Hi self-healers, this is Energy with Soma Ascension. I am talking about what happens to us after we experience something that's traumatic or makes a big imprint on our emotional body and our physical body. So, let's talk about it. First, we'll go through what happens when from event to creating your reality. Here we go.
So, first an event happens.
We perceive the event through our senses.
And then after that, we mentally process the senses and think about it. And this is filtered through your focus. And focus narrows the more stressed out you are and you have a wider perspective availability when you are not in fight or flight. So, when you're in rest and digest and when your body when your nervous system is calm and relaxed and all of those things, then your focus gets wider. But when you're stressed out or in a constant state of fight or flight or anxiety, your focus narrows to only looking for the things that are dangerous to you. So, you would only notice the negative things in that situation rather than the entirety of the situation. This is where your brain kicks in and starts thinking about all kinds of things. There's cognitive distortions, there's internal dialogue, and also alternative perspectives. All of these things are filtered through and most of all automatic thoughts.
They're just fast and they're just what's there because they're based on your pre-programming of your past.
Your particular filter of reality.
Then this is where the meaning gets assigned to it. Notice this is all pre-emotions. So, the meaning gets assigned to it. Those are filtered through core beliefs, background values like family values, how you were brought up, memory, uh instances, and also expectations. Now in comes your emotions.
How you're going to feel about this thing that happened is completely based on these previous steps. The meaning that you assigned to it and how it was filtered through your perception. These are basic emotions like fear, sadness, anger, or complex emotions like guilt, shame, those kind of things.
There's also emotional balance which is the positive to negative spin that you're going to put on it. This is now where we hit the internal state. So, that emotion then creates your internal state, whether that means physiological changes, emotional changes, mental changes. So, physiological changes can include things like your heart rate variability, cortisone levels, breathing patterns, it releases neurotransmitters like adrenaline and serotonin. It also engages an action tendency, which is like your fight or flight or tend or befriend, which I hadn't heard that one before, but totally makes sense. I guess it's like fawn.
And then there's also the long-term impacts in your neuroplasticity and also creates a belief reinforcement loop.
Then comes behavioral output, so that'll be your patterns and what you do with it. And then you have your outward reflection, which is then shaping exactly how your reality is. And that is how that works.
At least this is my very limited understanding of it considering the brain and mind and consciousness is such a vast field of unknowns. So, this is the very basicest way I could explain a very complex process.
