The Managerial Grid, developed by Blake and Mouton, identifies five leadership styles based on two dimensions: concern for production (task focus) and concern for people (employee welfare). The five styles are: Country Club Manager (1,9) - prioritizes employee happiness but neglects task completion; Team Manager (9,9) - achieves both high task completion and employee satisfaction; Impoverished Manager (1,1) - fails in both dimensions; Task Manager (9,1) - focuses on task completion through micromanagement but neglects employee welfare; and Middle of the Road Manager (5,5) - attempts to balance both but achieves neither effectively.

5 Leadership Styles - Managerial Grid | RBI Grade B 2026 Management Most Important Topics追加:
Can I miss question cancer goodbye which came in 2024 of the RBI Grade B exam related to the managerial grid? If yes, I would love to see the answers in the comments, but if not, then bear with me as I explain to you what the managerial grid is. So basically, the managerial grid was given by Blake and Mouton who said that there are five possible leadership styles.
Now, for that we have to understand what is the concern for production and concern for people. Managers who have a high concern for production at the x-axis, that is these people are focused on the task, getting the work done efficiently, fulfilling the goals. And people who have a concern for people at the y-axis, these are the people who want employee welfare, employee happiness, motivation, right? So therein we have five leadership styles.
First is your country club manager. This is the person who's totally focused on the employees, ensuring that they are happy, motivated, a good social workplace environment. But is the work getting done? Answer is no. The tasks are not getting fulfilled efficiently.
That is why it's a 1,9. One meaning that the task is not getting fulfilled, nine meaning that the employees are very happy.
Then we have team manager. This is the best sort of leadership style at 9,9, meaning the work is also getting done, the employees are also happy.
Third is your impoverished manager. This is the worst style possible. Why?
Because it's 1,1. Neither is the work getting done, neither are the people happy or motivated. Nothing is going well.
Fourth is your task manager. This is the person at 9,1, meaning this person will ensure that the work is anyhow getting done. He will ensure that the employees are working, task is getting fulfilled. Nine. But are the employees going to be happy? No, because there will be constant micromanagement, supervision, no motivation given.
Right? And finally, 5,5, the middle of the road. This is the person who's trying to get the work done, trying to keep the people happy, but he is not being able to do any of it effectively.
So he's stuck in between. That is middle of the road, 5,5. And these were the five leadership styles given by Blake and Mouton. Now, can we answer this question? Basically asking who developed the managerial grid? Very simple. It was given by Blake and Mouton. Simply answer is going to be option B.
