Selling stocks strategically can help manage cash flow and debt obligations, even when the investment is expected to continue growing; this approach prioritizes financial stability and peace of mind over pure investment returns, as the portfolio serves as a safety net for future needs and emergencies.

I've Sold My Stocks...追加:
Welcome back to another video and today I'm going to be talking about why I sold some stocks and before I do like I've got some doors finally got some doors in the house I'm in last week or so I've been literally living with no doors. And very happy with that. They do need to come off and then get treated and all that but that won't be happening >> [clears throat] >> well maybe in the next week or two.
Anyway, I'm literally rambling and you're probably wondering why I sold some stocks. So I will let you know. And before we do that if you do want to get a free fractional share worth up to £100 on Trading 212 just click the link in the description and use my code Ben on the promo code section if you haven't signed up or used Trading 212 before. So as you can see here this is my portfolio over 200 grand. It was 204 205 whatever it was and now it's sitting at just over 200 grand and why is that? Well it's because I sold some stocks and I ended up selling AMD.
As you can see I've done a video on AMD and I said I wasn't going to be selling any AMD and I've sold 10 shares I've not sold or technically 11 shares actually but that's the amount I wanted to sell and there was a reason why I sold 11 shares you could say one because two 220 just sounds better than 221 and also the other reason why is I've got some debts I need to pay and these debts are through well buying this house um in the sense of my boiler broke as soon as I moved in don't know if I updated you on that. I will be doing a whole big YouTube video of the whole process of me renovating the house and moving in so stay tuned for that when I do get round to doing that but the boiler broke pretty much within the first week of me getting the keys. I didn't move into that house straight away. I've only just moved in last week or so, but I got it February end of February.
And yeah, the boiler ends up breaking, so I needed to pay for that, and I didn't really have the money to pay for it unless I sold stocks at the time, but obviously the stock market was down, so I was like, "Well, what I'm going to do is I'm just going to pay it off every month on my credit card cuz I got a 0% interest credit card I did and for 14 months, so it gave me 14 months to pay it off.
And I also um my grandparents um were really kind enough to lend me a thousand pounds to get the living room plastered, so I ended up going with that and paying them off monthly.
And it was one of those where I was just like, I it was about four grand I was in debt technically, and yes, I had 0% interest on both of them.
And I could have paid it off within the year.
But I was thinking cash flow wise isn't going to be great for me because I'm not investing in the stock market. I haven't invested in my ISA for 5 months.
And it's because of cash flow in the sense of the money that I'm earning is just going on bills. It's going on debts that I'm paying, obviously my credit card.
I owe money to my grandparents. It all adds up. That that like that's huge outgoings there, which will now be gone. Won't have that anymore, which is amazing.
And another thing is as well, I want other bits done. I want my flooring to be done, so I paid a little bit towards that. I still got a thousand pounds to pay for the flooring, but I should be able to do that with my income uh just about. So, that's kind of a good thing.
So, yeah.
And then, once the flooring's done, I'm I'm kind of okay. I don't really need to do much more to the house. Obviously, I want to get the bathroom and kitchen done, but that's later down the line for years to come. And my thought process with selling now was the fact for one, AMD's run up a lot. I still, like I said in my previous video, think it's going to go a lot higher, hence why I've not sold out completely. I've sold a very small position of my AMD.
But, it means that that £400 a month that's going out on debt is now going to be able to go on just into the stock market, essentially, because I've now paid that off. And then, what I could do is, if you really wanted to think about it, is I've sold at a high, at a local top, you could maybe say, cuz AMD probably I'm sure stocks will correct. Maybe they won't.
Maybe they just don't. But, let's say they do, I can buy those shares back um, at a lower price than they are now. So, that's kind of my thought process. It just means I just clear the debts. It makes me feel better in my mind because it's never nice having debts.
And yeah, it just it just helps a lot. And that's the reasoning's for it. It was hard to do it because I'm quite weird like that. It was really hard. But, at the end of the day, what is this money for? This money is for times when I'm in when I've got a problem, when I've got some issues with maybe work, or I just need the money, or I want the money to spend on things that I want. That's the whole point of this portfolio. That's the whole point of why you all are probably investing. It's for your future, or when you've got problems. It's just a good safety net.
This is like my insurance, as you could say.
And I'm reaping the rewards after all these years of investing. So, yeah. That's my reasoning. That's my thoughts. And it's not because I think AMD's going to go down those. Like, it was just because at this moment in time, it just made a lot of sense to sell those 11 shares. I still got a position of 85 grand, which is mental to think.
So, hopefully you guys understand my reasonings for it. And yeah, I just wanted to update you guys on it. So, yeah. Subscribe if you're brand new to this channel. Give it a Give this video a like. And I'll see you in the next video.
