[00:00:07]I think we can wrap >> The United States Secret Service is a highly trained and highly effective organization. With that being said, they are trained to identify and neutralize targets without um hurting or injuring civilians.

[00:00:40]And unfortunately, they fell well short of their training on May 23rd of this year when they injured uh Benjamin Del Rio, who's sitting to my right here. You can see here, the White House is over here, and their intention was to take photos.

[00:00:57]And he's been re- rehabilitating and um trying to get his health back. But he, make no mistake about it, faces a very uncertain future in terms of his health, in terms of his career, and in terms of how he's going to be doing for the rest of his life.

[00:01:13]So, why are we filing?

[00:01:17]Um we're seeking two different things here for the Secret Service. We want answers and we want accountability. Um Benjamin noticed that an individual uh took out a gun and started firing toward a Secret Service outpost.

[00:01:31]>> What I am familiar with is the recovery process, and that's been um that's been difficult in the sense that, you know, I've had part of my digestive system removed, and the [clears throat] implications of that are still uncertain at this time.

[00:01:53]I'm without a doubt concerned. Um I enlisted a year and a half ago.

[00:02:00]And it's been one of the greatest journeys that I've taken uh, thus far in my life. And I'm concerned with the ability to be able to perform the job that I signed up to do.

[00:02:21]>> And it was a nightmare realized. Um, you never invite your family to to visit you, um, in a new city to to to explore, um, and expect it to end the way that it did. Um, I my father and Benjamin all feared for our lives.

[00:02:39]And the moment that I saw Ben bleeding was undoubtedly the scariest moment of my life.
