Successful thrift shopping requires balancing profit potential with logistical constraints, including transportation costs, physical effort, and shipping expenses; resellers should focus on high-value items that justify the effort of transporting them back, as demonstrated by a haul where 20 items weighing 20 pounds cost $128.80 but had a total listed value of $1,041, with an estimated profit of approximately $516 after accounting for platform fees and shipping costs.

Thrift With Me at Goodwill in Galveston Texas! Luxury Finds + I Carried 20 Pounds Back to My Hotel!追加:
Hi everyone. I'm coming to you from my hotel room in Galveastston, Texas. My husband had a work trip, so I decided to come along with him. And I remember the last time he worked here. It was about two and a half years ago. I went to the Goodwill in Galveastston and I had such a great thrift haul. I found so many great items and made a really good profit. So when I heard he was coming here again, I was so excited. However, a few things are a little different. We flew this time instead of driving. So, what I did was I brought two of these big Polly bags and whatever I buy, I'm just going to have to mail back. So, I wanted to keep in mind that there's an extra cost of goods of mailing the items back. It shouldn't be too bad. It's just going from Galveastston to Oklahoma. So, hopefully the shipping's not too much.
I'll pop up how much it is. So, I think it'll probably add maybe close to a dollar for each item. The other thing that was different was last time I had a vehicle to drive to the Goodwill and back to the hotel. This time I don't have a vehicle. So, I thought that's okay. I can run there. It's like 3.6 miles away. No problem. I love running here. It's right along the ocean. And so, I thought that's going to be fun.
But I have to make sure that I do not pick up too many items because I have to lug these things back 3.6 miles. Well, the run there was awesome. Amazing.
Loved it. The walk home was so hard. I ended up getting 20 things. I had two big bags and it was so hard. I almost called Uber several times. So, I was like, "No, I'm not going to. I can make it." But, wow, it was really, really hard. I felt like I was not going to make it. It was so hot. Those bags got so heavy. So getting there was easy.
Getting back was a real challenge. So I will remember that forever. I ended up getting 20 items for $128.80.
It took me a little over 2 hours to shop. But I found some really great things. So I'm really excited. So let's look at the clip from inside the store and then I will show you everything that I found.
This Goodwill was very spacious as I remembered it. I went to the dresses first and found a wedding dress. I love selling wedding dresses, but I passed this time where I would have picked it up if I were at home, but I did not want to carry it back in the heat. This Talbot's purse was really nice. I loved the pebbled leather. It was 100% genuine leather for $9.99, but the coms showed it would probably only sell for around $25, so I didn't think it was worth it to carry it back in the heat for about a $10 profit.
Bras and sports bras were just $1.99 each and super lightweight. So, I picked up this sports bra. This was another bra that was a new to me brand, but it was really nice, new with tags and a size 4X, so I wanted to try it. I have actually sold this style of Vanity Fair bra before and it sold really well. It was brand new with tags in a size 44 C, so I definitely picked it up. I was walking by the men's shirts and I saw this item sticking out and I noticed it said untuck it for her. It was an untuck it dress. So, I picked it up. It was only $5.99.
Then I went ahead and looked through more of the men's shirts and one caught my attention. It was a really nice pattern. It was the brand Insarch icon, a size 3XL.
So, I thought that could be something special. I looked it up and people had it listed for $72, $75. I was so excited. But then when I looked at what had actually sold, it had a really low sell-through rate. 109 current listings and 10 sold listings. So, not a great sell through rate. The items that did sell were around $30, but I just didn't want to pick something up that was going to take three years to sell.
I loved how they would roll new carts out to the front of the store and just leave them for a little while for everyone to go through before they started putting the items out on the floor. There were so many items that on a normal day I would have purchased to resell that would have made a10 or $15 profit, but I was trying to really focus on items that would make more money and consider how much they weighed to have to carry them back to the hotel. And I found some incredible items. There were a few that I still picked up that would only make a10 or $15 profit. So, a few of those did sneak in there if they were lightweight. But I also found items that were incredible. This jumpsuit, for example, was brand new with tags and it retails for $475.
I paid $6.99.
This is a Tori Birch silk satin shell, also brand new with tags. Retail value $228.
There was another Tori Burch t-shirt that I thought was so cute. It was $11.99, but still worth it to pick it up. So, I learned a valuable lesson this day that if I really tried to focus and not just pick up something that will profit $10, but be willing to not pick that item up, to focus on finding items that will sell for a higher profit. It was really good for me and I ended up finding amazing items. And I can't wait to show you what I actually picked up in the haul. I found different things at this Goodwill that I don't usually find in my local Goodwill. So, that is neat. Lily Pulitzer. I rarely find Lily Pulitzer where I live, just maybe a couple times.
And I found two pieces. This cute cute dress. I love the colors. And here is the tag. Lily Pillitzer size two. It was just $7.99.
And the other Lily Pulitzer dress is really cute, too. It has shorts underneath. It is a size six and it was just $7.99.
Then a new rack came out, so I went over to it and I saw this Tory Burch t-shirt.
So cute, excellent condition. It has these different textures on it. And here is the tag. size medium, but it was priced really high. $11.99.
And so I went back and forth, but I thought, I love this. This is so cute.
It's lightweight. I am going to go ahead and get it because I rarely ever find Tory Birch. And so I decided to go ahead and pay up $1.99. And then I found an amazing Tory Birch. Right next to it was this one, size four. It is brand new with tags and the retail value is $228.
It is 100% silk also. So, this one was just $9.99.
I think they should have priced them the opposite way, but well worth it. This one was on the new rack also. And it's Eene Fisher. Yay. I don't come across Eene Fisher very much. Also, this is the tag. It's size medium. It was just $5.99.
It's 100% organic cotton. This dress that I have on, I also picked up and it's kind of hard to see, but it's long length. It goes all the way down to my ankles. It's line. It's this cute gingham print. You can see how sunburned I got today. I put on lots of sunscreen, too. It was really hot out there. I think that's what made the walk back so hard. But this is so cute. I love the pattern. But it was Here's the tag.
$7.99.
And I'll pop up the tag. It was called pretty garden. Then this one is another one that I want to keep. It is so cute on. I tried it on. And I have another dress that's almost exactly like this that I just wore last weekend at a wedding, but this one is a little bit different. The neckline goes up a little bit higher and it's really cute. It's like up right above the knees and then it has a little bit extra material at the bottom and it's just so cute on. So I might have to keep this one also. This is keepsake. It's size extra small and it was $7.99.
So really great. This one was probably one that I should not have picked up, but I love life is good. And so I can I have a hard time resisting it and I thought how cute. It's a size extra extra large and the crusher light and so I thought this is just so cute and it'll remind me of this trip. So I will enjoy listing it and selling it. And it was just $5.99 and lightweight. It did not add too much for me to carry. Then the next one is a pair of Vera Bradley pajamas. A size small. They are brand new with tags and so cute. They're really soft. And look at the trim. Just absolutely adorable. Another one that I kind of want to keep also. And as a drawstring waist and a tie. This could be a I'm keeping half of the stuff and selling half of the stuff haul because I really like a lot of these things. Then the next one, this one I saw Untuck It and it was actually in the men's area, but I read it and it said Untuck It for Her size 14. And so I did not even know that Untuck It had women's items. So this is a dress and it's really It's got a cute pattern. It has, let me see, it has pockets. I do not see a belt or belt loops, but it was just $5.99.
And so, I thought I'm going to definitely try that out. Then, while I was in the men's section, I found this Vineyard Vines performance size 3XB. I love selling men's big and tall items, and it's a nice color. It's kind of looks a little washed out. I'm right behind the window, so the color is actually really nice. It was just $5.99.
I looked up soul comps for this Vineyard Vines performance shirt, size 3XB, and initially it looks like there's nothing, no active listings. It gives me suggested similar listings, but nothing listed just like mine. But I went ahead and still checked what had sold and 19 had sold in the last 90 days. So that is an incredible sell through and something I absolutely would want to pick up because I know it's going to sell fast.
When I look at the solds, I want to change them from recently sold to highest. It looks like the highest sold comp is $32. Just under that is $29.99.
I'm sure I could get $32, but I'm going to go ahead and just list it for $30 and it will sell really fast.
Then this is another brand that I have never found. This Farad size extra extra large and I've never seen this brand and the only reason why I even knew about it was from watching other people's YouTube videos. So I knew when I saw the brand that I had heard that this was a good one. So I was really excited. and it is also blue long sleeve with a pocket and it was just $5.99.
And then I found a pair of men's polo Ralph Lauren shorts and they are a big and tall size which is great. Here is the tag. They have the interior drawstring and this was $4.99.
Next, I found this black 100% silk camisol. I've never heard of this brand, and it looked pretty good. It is 100% silk and a size large. It was only $4.99.
The name of the brand looks like Misha No or no new or something like that. So, I thought I would pick this up. Also, very nice that it wasn't very heavy.
I had no idea what a great find this was. This is a very expensive luxury sustainable brand. I now know that the designer's name is pronounced Misha Noo-Noo. The brand's signature item and a staple for everyday wear is called the husband shirt, and it's shown here on her friend Megan Markle. The sold comps on eBay are great, but the sold comps on Poshmark are even better. So, if you see a shirt that looks like this and by the brand Misha Noo-Noo, you might want to consider picking it up.
And if you find a more substantial item such as a dress or a jumpsuit, they retail so high and the soul comps are incredible on Poshmark. And in a few minutes, I will show you the new with tags. Misha Noo-Noo jumpsuit that I found that day.
Then the next one, I thought this was really pretty. It has this lace upper.
It's a long length.
The back is gathered and it is the brand Escape by Joanna Chin, size 14, and it was just $7.99.
Then I found another really pretty dress. This one's pretty heavy. This added to my heavy load that I had to carry, but it's so pretty. Look at the flowers on it. It has this overlay. And it is the brand JS Collections. And it is a size 20W. So love plus size. And I just thought it was gorgeous.
So I think this one will sell really well.
It has this slit.
So, really pretty dress.

I found that black camisol towards the beginning. And then at the end in a completely different area, I found a black jumpsuit by that same brand. And this one is a size four, brand new with tags. Only cost $6.99. And it's so cute.
It's a jumpsuit.
And it's long.
So really cute. And it's substantial.
Like it's it's not lightweight. I'm I'm really paying attention to how heavy everything is today since I just carried it. I had no idea how great that find was when I was actually recording this haul. I picked it up because I could tell it was high quality. It felt luxurious and it was $6.99. So, I thought, "Oh, I'll try it." Then later when I looked it up, I was amazed that it retailed for $475.
This is the May Jimson jumpsuit, and it's named after the first AfricanAmerican woman that went to space. So, I thought that was really neat to learn about.
Bras and sports bras for just $1.99 each. So, I picked up three of them.
This one is brand new with tags. Vanity Fair. Retail value $50. So, so for $1.99, I had to pick that. And this one, I've never heard of this brand, but it was also brand new with tags. And wow, it is so soft and just looks really comfortable. It looks like a bra that someone would love. and it's called Airy Soft. Brand new with tags and just $1.99. And then the last one is a sports bra and it I have not heard of this brand, All Phoenix, but I thought for $1.99 I'm going to try that. So, super cute. Now, let's look at the numbers and decide if it was worth hauling this haul back to my hotel room. I purchased 20 items and ironically the clothing weighed 20 pounds. So that was a lot to carry back. So if nothing else, I got a really good workout that day. When I looked at sold comps, the total listed value for this haul is $1,041.
On average, I will sell things for about 20% lower than the listed price. Some will sell at full price, some a little bit lower than the 20% off, but on average, I usually sell at 20% off the total listed price. Then, when we take out 20% in platform fees, take out the cost of goods and the price for shipping the items home, I should make a profit of approximately $516.36.
I am thrilled with this haul. I feel like it was a very successful haul for me. I'm back home now and I have just started listing the items. I will be excited to see how quickly they sell.
Thank you so much for coming along with me on this adventure. Everything from my haul today. I had so much fun fun thrifting in Galveastston again and I cannot wait to get home and get these all listed. Whenever they sell, I will be sure and include them in my what sold video. So, if you're not subscribed and you would like to know how much these sell for, what my profit was, and how many days they took to sell, be sure that you subscribe down below. And if you hit the notification bell, it will let you know when I release new videos.
Thank you for watching, and everybody have a great day. Bye.
