The glucose tolerance test is a standard prenatal screening used to detect gestational diabetes, where pregnant individuals consume a glucose solution and have blood drawn at specific intervals to measure how their body processes sugar; passing this test indicates the body is managing blood sugar levels normally during pregnancy, which is an important health milestone for both mother and baby.

Glucose Test Day! 💉🩸 (+ Results)Added:
Happy Friday. Look who's here. She's got her little toy. Oh my gosh, look at those little feet go. Look at those little feet.
>> Mama Loose just made Zara some applesauce, which is apples and water.
Oh, do you want another bite?
Yum.
Is that so yummy?
You want some more?
Let me see.
You wake up.
You wake up.
Yummy. Is that so yummy?
Okay, baby Zara is asleep.
Look at how cute she is.
Oh, she's so cute.
On her stomach like always, though. I did put her on her back, but of course she immediately flipped over on her stomach again.
Here's my only meal I'm going to eat before my test today. It's banana oatmeal.
Johnny just clocked out of work. He had a half day because we're on our way to the doctor now. I left baby Zara with Mama Loose and she finished prepping all the food. So, it really was like perfect timing. So, she's now on baby duties, grandma duties, and um we are on our way to the doctors to take the glucose test.
Wish me luck. We'll keep you guys posted. I think I'm going to like the drink. I I know I hear mixed things like it's so disgusting >> like this with no sugar.
>> I feel like I'm going to like it, but we shall see. The nurse last time, she was like, "It's like a flat soda." That's what she said. A flat.
Well, that doesn't sound good. But then Tagan, I saw her today. She was like, "It's like a sugary Gatorade." And I'm like, "Well, that sounds good to me."
Like, I think I'll like it. But anyways, we shall see. Yes, it's this one. Okay, here we go.
Cheers.
Is it like juice?
>> Mhm.
>> Orange juice.
>> Literally tastes like orange juice. Like orange soda.
Okay. I just finished my drink. That was not bad at all.
Now we're waiting for my OB appointment.
>> Yes, we are.
>> We're like really early.
>> My appointment's not >> What are that couple?
Not always. This is This is kind of a rare moment for us, but we're super early. And we got to be back down at the labs before 2003. That's when they're going to draw my blood. They said get there couple minutes before.
My lips are so chapped. We just finished our OB appointment. Everything looking good. They measured my uterus. They said 24 weeks. Um, we heard baby girl's heartbeat 140. So, all good.
>> So, we made it back to the labs right on time. We have like, let me see your watch.
We have like 10 minutes before they need to draw my blood. So, we are perfect on time.
>> I did it.
>> Johnny didn't go with me when I got my when they called my name to get my blood drawn. He just sat there. He's like, I'll be here. And I was like, "You're not gonna come with me." He's like, "No, I'll be here." So, I had to look at the wall because I don't like to look. I get scared.
>> The thing is, >> I can't believe you didn't go with me.
>> I I don't go I didn't go because the rooms are like small.
>> I mean, it is small, but you went last time and it like comforted me >> because you asked.
>> I thought it was like a given. I want you there always with me.
>> You're supposed to ask.
>> But anyways, I survived. I was a big girl. I did it.
I've heard a lot of like horror stories about people getting their glucose tests done. Even Johnny's mom this morning was saying how um when she took her glucose tests with when she was pregnant with Johnny, she couldn't even finish the drink cuz she got so nause nauseous and she like almost passed out. I was like, "Oh gosh." Um, I didn't think I'd have that problem, but I was just like, man, you hear all these things like people getting nauseous with them or um, one of my clients was telling me when she took hers, she could literally feel the blood with or the like sugar within her veins and like she ended up having gestational diabetes, but she could literally feel it after drinking it. I was like, "Oh goodness." We're back with little Zara.
You've got a toy broccoli.
Wow.
Girl, Remy, I have our little niece, Nia. She was super upset when she got here, but when I held her, she relaxed and she just fell asleep.
So, I should update you guys. I mean, obviously, we're heading back home now, but I feel like I didn't vlog much today cuz there was just a lot happening. I was on like super anti-duties today. But um tell them what you did, Pini.
>> I went to a Podgers game >> spontaneously.
A bunch of his family was going and they had an extra ticket.
>> They Well, they had two extra tickets and um >> I would have loved to go with them.
>> So, I went with my f I went with the fam. It was fun. My aunt uh my aunt Lisa, thank you so much for the ticket.
She gave up her ticket for Johnny to go.
>> Awesome.
>> That was so sweet cuz Johnny's been wanting to go, but like because of the distance and because of Zoe, we really can't. And when we had season tickets that one time, every time we came back from a game, accident everywhere from Zoe. So like >> it just because baseball games are really long and they're not very predictable timing wise. So with Zoe's schedule, it's just it's hard for us to go to a baseball game. something as simple as that. Um, so that was a bummer, but I'm so happy Johnny got to go and they won today, so that was awesome. And I was on super auntie Jackie duties today. So, um, I was with baby Zara, and I was, it was so funny cuz like I was taking care of her, feeding her, and then as soon as I was done feeding her, they passed me Mia, and I fed Mia, and it was just like back and forth. And um when Mia had got gotten there, um our niece Mia, she was screaming her head off. And I'm I'm telling you this at the same time. Um hello >> cuz you you weren't there for this. But Mia was screaming her head off and everyone was trying to like calm her down. Even Martin like went outside carrying her to try and calm her down.
She wouldn't calm down. Your mom took her. Nana took her and she wouldn't calm down. So then your mom was like, and I was holding Zara and Zara's just chilling, you know, and your mom's like, "Let's switch." Cuz Mia's just screaming off her head and Zara's chill. So she's like, "Let's switch." As soon as I get Mia, she stops crying.
And literally she stops crying and then I ended up putting her to sleep. Um, and then Lauren and your the Lisa and the Sarah were like, "Jackie's a baby whisperer." Like she's just with all the babies.
>> You really are.
>> I don't know how that happened or like because if you guys remember watching vlogs from years ago, I was that one that was like awkward with kids. Awkward like I didn't know how to be around kids. But I think just growing with Johnny's family and all the cousins. Is everything okay?
>> I got to stick mom cuz it's a long day. It's a long day.
Johnny Johnny has to adjust himself. Um, >> when you have when you have some big balls and big chisels, you have to >> Oh my gosh. Anyh who, I think it's just from growing with all of Johnny's like cousins and nieces and nephews. Like, it's just been a lot of practice for me. But I think the biggest thing is my energy. It's It's always been a very calm, low-key boring energy. And I think kids just feel safe with that. I guess that's that's my guess.
>> I've always said that when we have our first kid, I think I'm going to panic.
>> I actually I know it's going to work like that. I I know it it is.
>> So, I'm going to lean a lot on you cuz you are the baby whisperer.
That's what they called me today. So, if you got if you got a crying baby, >> call her.
>> Bring them over.
>> Okay, stopping to get gas. This is pretty good lighting um right in front of the store. But I also wanted to tell you guys, I was getting test results on my phone all day today and I kept checking like my glucose test results and the first one was a bunch of tests that were just these random letters.
Like I know they mean something, but I have no idea what they were. Um, most of them are in the green. There are a few that are like outside of the green uh like a little under or a little over, but nothing like too drastic or crazy.
Again, I don't know what these test results are, but like it didn't look too concerning.
Johnny's mom did ask chat GPT, and I think one of them that I was like low on is iron, which you know what, that kind of checks out. I should add more iron into my diet. Like, I could do that. Um. Oh, sorry, Papa.
You want me to lock it again?
>> Okay.
>> Okay. Um, also, side note, she's been like leaving little turd nuggets everywhere all day.
Like just random turd nuggets. It started this morning in the car. Um, which she doesn't really do often, especially at 4:00 in the morning when we're leaving. Um, and then she even did it twice at Nana's today. I'm like, girl, what's your what's your deal?
Anyways, going back to the test.
So, the first test I got that had all the different results. Don't know what it was, but um I could use more iron for sure. And then the next one, I don't have syphilis in case anyone was wondering. I didn't even know they were testing me for things like that, but I'm clear. And then the third test I got was my glucose test and I passed. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. I was praying so much because um some of Johnny's, you know, family members, they told me their experience with gestational diabetes and like they have to put a shot in their stomach with insulin like every single day. And I'm like, "Oh my gosh, that sounds so scary." And I mean, obviously I would do anything for baby girl. So if I had to do it, I would do it, but like I really didn't want to do that. Um, so I was just praying and I also didn't want to do the 3-hour test. So I was just praying and God took care of it all. God is so good. So yay, I passed. I don't have gestational diabetes. Thank you, Jesus.
We're home now.
I just showered up and I want to cry because I noticed Zoe licking her leg before I hopped into the shower. So, I came to look what she was looking at.
My gosh.
Maybe you can't really tell, but she's literally bleeding right here. Look at her diaper.
Where is it?
There it is.
Look right there. I just put this diaper on her, too, cuz I had to express her again when we came inside.
Her diaper's cutting her. Oh my gosh.
Okay. So, I'm actually gonna take it off and I'm going to put a cloth diaper on her because I just think it's softer and it won't cut into her as much. Oh, I'm so sorry, my baby. I'm so sorry.
I don't think this will help much, but I'll put a band-aid on it.
Oh, my poor baby.
Okay, with the flash on, you can see more. Oh my god, it makes me so sad.
My baby.
It's like all raw right here. Oh, my sweet girl. I'm so sorry. This is all blood.
Oh my gosh. Okay, I put a band-aid and cloth diaper on Zoe. I think she's good.
I'm actually so tired now. Praise God.
I passed my glucose test. That was the only thing I was worried about today.
Thank you, Jesus. I'm so tired. I'll see you guys tomorrow. Bye.
Now I see your heart was made for me. In my heart was meant for you.
You spun my world around right side up from upside down.
