[00:00:04]You made it to Friday, May 8th. May 8th, Mother's Day in what, 3 days, 2 days? So, make sure you get your cards and flowers and all that good stuff.

[00:00:18]Um I had auctions ending and I did 500 auctions and they ended last night. I used up my 500 auctions from April.

[00:00:29]And as you can see, uh yesterday, Thursday, I finished at 5:17 and I'm off to 1:44 today.

[00:00:38]And that is a lot of this awaiting payment and said my cards are on currently layaway.

[00:00:46]I have 105 left in orders to be paid.

[00:00:51]I try to do at least the 500 auctions a month and I think only once or twice over the last three, four months have I had someone just not pay and it's the typical I didn't realize shipping was going to be that high and it was it's always an international buyer.

[00:01:11]And they just, you know, your international shipping is is is prominently displayed.

[00:01:16]Um they just don't want to pay that much.

[00:01:19]And I'll get the can't you just ship it with a stamp?

[00:01:23]No, I'm not going to send a uh $50 postcard internationally with no protection and no tracking.

[00:01:30]No, not going to do it, so they get uh the item you know, the buyer didn't pay strike and then I block them.

[00:01:38]So, anyway, I have 20 orders going out for 6:34.

[00:01:46]A pretty pretty good night with auctions and then last night as soon as the auctions ended, I relisted. I only sold 10 items during auction, which was uh I think very, very low.

[00:01:59]And so, I relisted the 490 auctions as buy it now.

[00:02:06]And uh some of those did sell.

[00:02:09]So, let's get pooling today.

[00:02:13]So, yeah, you just got to manufacture your own success on eBay. You just can't wait for eBay to give you success. And I'm I do that. I just haven't been listing much, but technically auctions are listing 500 you know, a week listings.

[00:02:56]I know they had that new the new payment thing. I don't know really if that had anything to do with the back end. It's just a more of a policy.

[00:03:05]Which I wanted to talk about it the other day.

[00:03:08]Uh I put both the links to both their the new payment policy and last year's payment policy into chat GPT and I said, "Hey, compare these.

[00:03:18]Let me know if there's anything Let me know what's changed.

[00:03:23]Let me know if it's bad for me as a seller."

[00:03:28]And of course, eBay's like, "You can opt out of this." And I was like, "Okay, chat GPT, tell me what would happen if I opted out of the new payment policy?"

[00:03:41]And >> [cough and clears throat] >> it went through. And there it is right there.

[00:03:48]And it did the whole compare and contrast and it pretty much what it said is eBay is tightening its grip on your money.

[00:03:59]That we all know managed payments.

[00:04:04]You know, eBay holds that money.

[00:04:06]And what ChatGPT said it was it would hold your money longer. It could hold your money longer.

[00:04:12]It could deny payments.

[00:04:14]Um if it has if eBay is suspicious of you selling too much, it could hold your payments.

[00:04:21]I know the guy from uh Bob's Baseball who sells uh top loaders and sleeves and stuff like that on eBay. Uh eBay held like 6,000 some odd dollars of his money.

[00:04:34]Uh and it's been 6 months 8 months, and they're still holding it.

[00:04:39]I mean, I don't know the backstory. Just posted that eBay is holding has held his money. And one of the things I was asking chat Oh, it kind of backing up a little bit is uh is like, "Okay, ChatGPT, what happens if I uh if I opt out of this?" And it pretty much said if you opt out of it, you can't sell on eBay.

[00:05:04]I was like, "Okay."

[00:05:08]So, it's yeah, it's just uh eBay just has more control over your money.

[00:05:14]And if they don't like something you're doing, you're not going to get your money.

[00:05:21]And so, I asked ChatGPT, I was like, "Okay, you know, eBay eBay can you know, hold your money overnight. Um and if it depends on how your your payments are set up. I have daily payments cuz I don't want eBay holding my money uh for any longer than necessary."

[00:05:42]Uh 67 must have been on 40% off.

[00:05:47]And I was okay, you have access to, you know, all the filings for eBay and their stock reports.

[00:05:57]Tell me what eBay makes a day.

[00:06:00]And if they're holding that X amount of money overnight, how much in interest are they earning?

[00:06:09]Uh and it was, I don't know, 40 some million a year, maybe a little bit more.

[00:06:14]I can't remember the exact numbers.

[00:06:18]So, they definitely have an incentive to hold your money longer than they need to.

[00:06:26]I mean, if you do, if you do weekly payouts, what's I I just curious, if you do that, what are you what's your justification to let eBay hold your money?

[00:06:38]I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it.

[00:06:41]Uh I I'm just genuinely genuinely curious about that.

[00:06:47]I think I did it maybe for a week or a month, maybe. And this was years ago.

[00:06:55]And I was like, why why am I letting eBay hold my money? I mean, my it goes into my checking account, and it doesn't earn much, if any, interest.

[00:07:06]But at least that teeny minuscule amount, I'm earning.

Sprayed out the weep holes on the uh on the uh windows, so everything drains correctly.

[00:10:34]But I Whenever someone asks you to, you know, package very well I again, I put in my my listings how I pack and that I cannot uh sandwich uh regular old postcard with sent by eBay standard envelope between cardboard. I can't mark it do not bend.

[00:10:59]You're not supposed to. That that is a violation of the eBay standard envelope rules and whatever.

[00:11:08]Because that has to be If you mark it and you really want it to to um do not bend, I believe it had you have to pay extra for the uh hand cancel.

[00:11:26]So, I ignore those. I pack it how um I put in my my listing.

[00:11:34]More airplane cards. I only had three or four airplane cards going out.
