Former PM Morrison: Albanese Helped Fuel Anti-Semitism

[00:00:00]When I was Prime Minister, we took that relationship with Israel to the the high the high watermark and it has been in freefall since 2022 and I mean, changing one's policy is one thing.

[00:00:15]And in but to to do it in in the circumstances of October 7 has had absolute diabolical consequences here in Australia.

[00:00:27]Giving license, I believe, to anti-semitism. Do not believe our government is anti-semitic. I want to be clear about that. And I don't think the Prime Minister is either.

[00:00:36]Um but I do believe that the uh apathy in relation to October 7 and the the challenges that the Jewish Australians have faced um and the the the way that those issues were handled over after October 7 has given not intentionally, but it is still the truth that it it has created environment in this country where anti-semitism has been flourishing and in its worst possible expression on December 14 at Bondi.

[00:01:09]Um you know, I don't directly link those events, but as a Prime Minister, you set the tone.

[00:01:16]And the tone that the government has set here in Australia, I think has been deeply unfortunate and and quite devastating for Australian Jewish community the Australian Jewish community.
