Genuine participation in social movements requires authentic connection to the cause, understanding, and empathy, rather than simply following mainstream trends or bandwagons; people should critically examine their true motivations and ensure their involvement stems from real commitment to change rather than superficial engagement.

Street Interview: Perspectives on Activism and Social TrendsAdded:
I just think that it it's almost like everyone has like a certain part I I like I like to call it spirituality.
There's another part of us that feels like a need to fill it with something and a lot of people you know people fill it with art people fill it with politics people follow it with religion a belief a faith system whatever it is and a lot of times people feel like they need to have something going on and but it just feels like there's always people need to be involved in something and not actually connected to it. It's just like is this the new thing that's currently going on right now the Israel Palestine is like okay we're going to dwell on this for the next 3-4 years it started 2-3 years ago. I know it started earlier but it became mainstream it became like the thing to do the hip thing to be a part of.
I wonder how many people are genuine about it are actually educated on it and feel with it and they they empathize with it there's some real connection to it as opposed to just being like you know this is what we're this is what we're doing. This is why I'm going to occupy my Monday night. This is how I'm going to occupy my you know my weekends my discussions of like you know more intellectual discussions let me just go over this and then when this kind of dies out the next trend pops up we're going to go into that. How many people look at the a few thousand people over here how many people are genuinely here for the right you know real reasons of wanting a proper change I don't know. I'm I'm a little bit cynical about that. I don't really believe that most people are here for the right things. I think you know Ukraine and Poland was a was a nice trend for two years and what happened to that? It's quiet now.
It's quiet so when this fades out what's the next thing?
That being said once you kind of look at it like that it's like if if we could all just disperse forget about it not I'm not going to say forget about it cuz I know I know I'm acknowledging there are real issues and real issues have to be resolved.
But but just hopping on a trend and a bandwagon Like all like all this just getting on a bandwagon like oh this is the new thing to do it's like you're not going to change it. If you're if you're not in it for the real reasons and really understand it and and and sympathize with the whole situation nothing nothing good's going to come from it. That's my take on this. So I think that people just need to really take a look at themselves understand themselves like what what they're really trying to accomplish, who they are, you know.
I feel like a lot of people would walk away from this if they really like kind of, you know, thought about that for a minute.
But, if we got to do this, I I just hope it could be authentic, you know. That's it. That's what I got to say.
