A moving testament to how immigrant identity is preserved not through rigid institutions, but through the organic, voluntary bonds of communal care. It captures the profound truth that culture survives as long as there is a shared intention to keep it alive.

How Nepali & Tibetan Brothers in Queens, New York Kept The Culture Alive?Added:
Guys, there was this culture of this Queens, New York Papa team that consists of Nepali and Tibetan brothers. We used to take turns to bring lots of breakfast early in the morning every Sunday taking turns like it's a fixture that you cannot refuse and somehow you have to serve for whole 25 grown people.
Somehow we ended up after this winter snowstorm in 2020 5 and during the start of this 2026, we somehow decided that not everyone has a mother waking up early in the 5:00 a.m. and not everyone has a wife to make the dough evening time then wake up early and serve the breakfast for all of them, right? Somehow life in New York, it keeps evolving. It goes at a such a fast pace that somehow not everyone has the same timing. So, we somehow decided to end that beautiful culture of bringing breakfast.
The Queens Papa team in New York City, it was never about the soccer. It was about the brotherhood. It was about the bonding. It was about the love and respect and it was about the culture that we kept alive out here in NYC for so many years.
Happy anniversary, Papa team.
And somehow sadly this earliest thing 2026, we decided to end that, right?
So, but somehow something really beautiful happened when I was in the middle of like filming of vlogs, right?
I kept I kind of like quietly kept filming everything that was happening around the Papa team for a whole month.
And I never uploaded a single vlog.
Just knowing that maybe like there's just a soccer, no one's going to watch it, right? Like who would pay attention to bunch of young adults, right? Playing soccer.
Some more I never put the vlogs out there.
But I kept filming. I kept filming this whole soccer games.
Something that beautiful really shifted and something that brought my attention and something that made me feel so proud of this proper team.
And the reason that I'm making this vlog is that is to share with you guys that somehow naturally out of respect, out of culture, out of traditions for the sake of brotherhood, somehow this culture of bringing the breakfast kept alive this whole month. This is crazy. And let me tell you what happened at the beginning of this whole month.
Uh Karma Gyatso, my Tokpa, he started to bring breakfast. Like he announced the group chat that oh, he would bring teas for the proper team and some kind of snack to munch on.

>> [laughter] >> Good morning. Morning. Morning.
Ooh hoo hoo.

>> [screaming] >> Just a little bit. Just a little bit.
>> Next Sunday comes and then Chon Namgyal decides No, actually Rahul Dai Right, Rahul Dai decides to bring breakfast for whole Papa team. Everyone got excited because like Rahul Dai serves the best best breakfast for the whole Papa team.

This was our culture.
Oh my goodness. Aloo dum. Aloo So, this is after long time that we are having a family meal, Papa team.
Uh this used to be our culture where we would or where we would take our turn to bring breakfast for the whole team.
Somehow this 2026 we cancelled it and somehow today our Rahul Dai and family they have volunteered to bring it.
So, it it brought back beautiful memories.
Uh I'm so tired.
So, yeah.

>> whole month, four weeks back to back.
There's always someone bringing the breakfast for whole proper team, and I was in all, right? Didn't we stop that?
You know, like didn't we stop bringing breakfast for the whole team? Now, do I have to bring a breakfast? How? I have a newborn, right? And just like me, there are a bunch of people who has their own difficulties, right? Right? Somehow I started to realize that this is so beautiful, right?
I might not be able to bring breakfast, but we do get the intention and the love, the bonding of this brotherhood, the love for the whole place.
Wow, that really touched my heart, and that's the reason I'm making this vlog.
My best friend, Karma Lama Kunga Topo, he said like, "Why are you not making any vlogs for the proper team?" I said like, "Oh, no one watches proper team.
No one watches the soccer vlog, right?"
And then somehow like after me filming like this vlog for non-stop the whole month, this beautiful culture came alive.
And that wasn't That's what makes me really proud, emotional, and something that made me share this vlog with you guys, right? So, tell me guys, what do you guys think about this beautiful culture?
Somehow we ended somehow like it resprouted back, and it's alive somehow like every time there's someone bringing breakfast for the whole proper team, right? So, it's never about the soccer game. It's about the brotherhood, the bonding, the love, respect. Somehow that speaks volume about the Nepali and Tibetan brothers, the culture that we kept alive out here in NYC, and it's so beautiful, and I couldn't resist, right?
[snorts and clears throat] As someone who been documenting the lifestyle of immigrants out here in NYC, I couldn't stop sharing this beautiful vlog with you guys. So, if you guys enjoyed this beautiful culture about this proper team, drop heart, I'll say something beautiful team. Beautiful too, like this adults.
The papas, right? Who somehow shows up in the ground every Sunday non-stop. And there's always someone serving breakfast for the team. Put some words of encouragement for this people who decides to somehow keep this culture alive, guys. Yeah, it would mean a lot. Uh just the way I'm showing this vlog, I also want to say thank you all for the papas.
You know, like we might we might be like you know, enemies. Like we might be hostiles, right? We don't like We might not like in the ground. You know, as a team captain, you might not want to be in my team, right?
Or like I might not want you in my team, but somehow like this is a bonding that we have, which I truly appreciate. And our I humbly want to thank all those people who brought the breakfast. At the same time, I just want to say I'm proud of this team. I'm proud of this bonding that we have. And hopefully like you all will do everything to keep it alive.
Much love, guys. And make sure you guys leave some beautiful comments for all the papas, guys. It would mean a lot.
