The video provides a fascinating look at the financialization of nostalgia, turning childhood memories into speculative assets. Itโs a sharp reminder that in a consumerist culture, even our past is expected to yield a return on investment.

Toys That Could Make You Rich!Added:
Recently, I had some friends that moved into an older home, and when they were up in the attic, they found some young boys' complete Star Wars collection.
[music] It was amazing to see what they had found, and I wondered if that little boy ever grew up and missed what [music] he once had.
If he knew what they had sold it for on eBay, he surely would have.
As we grow up, we also grow away from the toys that we once played with, but we never forget about the memories that we made with them.
Those memories can be so strong that it drives some people to buy back their collection that they once had.
Maybe their mom threw them out, or maybe they sold them in a garage sale.
Either way, they are sometimes willing to pay incredible prices to either get what they had or what they wanted and never got.
If you happen to have some toys sitting around, make sure you check the value before you get rid of them.
You might be sitting on a gold mine.
In this video, we will discuss some toys that can make you rich.
Hasbro's G.I. Joe has been around since 1964, and kids from several different generations have enjoyed playing with them.
Because of that, they have remained a favorite for a lot of toy collectors.
Vintage G.I. Joes and their accessories [music] can vary in price depending on what it is, the condition, and whether or not it is in the original box.
The command center can easily fetch over $100, while some figures can go as high [music] as $8,000.
In 2003, a prototype G.I. Joe toy soldier that was made in 1963 sold on eBay for $200,000.
These furry interactive toys known [music] as Furby came on the scene in 1998.
It is funny to think about now, but the US government actually banned these toys from being in the Pentagon and other military installations because they thought that they were spies.
Since the Furby had the ability to learn and interact, they feared that this toy could listen in on anything that was happening.
Our cell phones can do so much more [music] than that, and yet there have been no fears over them.
If you happen to be holding on to an early version in an unopened box, you may be able to get as much as $900.
Condition is definitely important, though.
Barbie dolls today are still pretty popular, but they look quite different than when they first came [music] out in 1959.
For some doll collectors, this classic version will always be the one and only Barbie.
After all, it's the one that changed [music] dolls forever.
If you happen to have one of these originals that is complete with a zebra striped swimsuit and a perfect hairdo, it could bring around $8,000.
Hasbro had another hit on their hands in the 1980s when they came out with [music] Transformers in 1984.
These robots could transform [music] into cars, trucks, jets, and so much more.
These innovative toys captured the imaginations of a lot of kids.
That's why they [music] are still highly desired and worth a lot more than their original retail price.
Some Optimus Prime figures in pristine packaging are sometimes listed on eBay for more than $2,000.
The other Transformers [music] figures can be worth quite a bit as well.
Every little girl in the '80s wanted one thing, a Cabbage Patch Kid, [music] and it really didn't matter which one.
These cute little dolls were created by Xavier Roberts in 1978. [music] If you were around in 1983, then I'm sure you can remember the frenzy that happened in stores when [music] parents were fighting in the aisles so that they could land one for their kids at Christmas.
If you happen to have some of these dolls in perfect condition, then they can bring a pretty penny.
Of course, just like anything, packaging is key and so is the condition.
If it's new in the box, then it can bring more than $150, depending on which [music] one you have.
There are plenty of Cabbage Patch Kid collectors out there just waiting to find one that they do not have.
Teddy Ruxpin, [music] the storytelling bear, captivated both boys and girls in the 1980s.
It had a cassette player on the back and when it played the story, he came to life with [music] his mouth.
This took teddy bears to a whole new level and it was one of the most popular toys [music] for several years when it came out in 1985.
Some of the loose and gently used ones can go for $50 to $150, but the mint condition ones can bring $300 to over [music] $500.
Some of the exceptionally rare and pristine listings can go [music] as high as $5,000.
If you were into the Masters of the Universe in the 1980s, then you know what a big deal they were.
>> [music] >> Lots of kids had them and if you were really cool, then you had the Castle Grayskull.
Some of these figures and accessories are now highly collectible by those who are wishing to rebuild what they once had.
The Faker action figure came out in 1983 as part of the second wave [music] of figures.
He was known as the evil robot of Skeletor and was designed [music] to impersonate He-Man.
Loose figures are valued around $69 [music] to $90 on secondary markets, but some of the higher grade mint ones in packages [music] can bring upwards of $400.
Really, just takes the right buyer at the right time.
The first Strawberry Shortcake doll came out in 1979 and it was produced by Kenner.
Originally, it was a rag doll, but in 1980, they came out as a scented vinyl doll.
Strawberry Shortcake had an incredible smell, but they also featured other characters such as Huckleberry Pie and Blueberry Muffin.
Dolls that were well [music] played with, but are in great condition can still sell for $20 to $60.
But, some of the rare mint in box or specific [music] figures can range from $100 to $300.
Occasionally, there are some rare deluxe or international dolls that can bring even more.
Lonnie Johnson was a NASA engineer who invented the Super Soaker in 1982.
The new water gun hit the market [music] in 1990, and it changed the game in water fights everywhere.
Soon, every kid wanted one, and they've been around ever since that [music] time.
For those that lived the moment when they first came out, it is an experience that can [music] never be duplicated.
That's why these original Super Soakers are still in high demand if they are new and in packaging that [music] is in mint condition.
They can start anywhere between $150 [music] and $300.
Everyone always talks about Barbie, but one doll that some people fail to acknowledge is Skipper.
She was or is the younger sister of Barbie.
Over the years, there have been a [music] lot of different versions of her, but some of the older varieties, depending on the hair, outfit, and condition of her in the box are generally worth $50 to $250.
This is especially true [music] if they are the rare early 1964 editions.
At one time, comics were a lot more popular than they are today.
Long before [music] we had tons of entertainment options, kids would sit around, chew gum, drink a soda, and enjoy a good comic [music] book.
For some people, those comic books are a great memory, and that's what makes certain ones valuable.
The most expensive comic book ever sold is a 1939 copy of Superman number one.
It sold [music] for a record price of 9.12 million dollars in November of 2025.
Atari completely changed [music] the way we play video games. It brought them from the arcade to the home and it paved the way for every [music] gaming system since that time.
This story seems crazy, but Atari buried a lot of their cartridges in a New Mexico landfill [music] in 1983.
At the time, it was sort of an urban legend, but it turns out it [music] was true.
In 2014, an excavation was done and they found about 1,100 of these Atari games.
About 10% of those were ET, which was a really disastrous game, but they also had some big hits like Pac-Man and Centipede.
Around 400 [music] of those cartridges were donated to the New Mexico Museum of Space.
The remaining cartridges were sold [music] and they brought in over $100,000.
That being said, you may have some games in your collection [music] or hidden away in a home somewhere that could be worth a ton of money.
Halloween or Texas Chainsaw Massacre can reach [music] $10,000.
Air Raid can bring 8,500 to $14,000 as a cartridge only, but with the box it can go as [music] much as $30,000.
Gamma Attack is considered the rarest and only one copy exists.
It was famously listed for $500,000, but even if you have some loose ones, you might be [music] surprised on their value.
Some of the childhood toys that you once played with are now very, very valuable.
To many, they are so much more than [music] a childhood memory and because of that, they can be very profitable if you are willing to part [music] with them.
So, make sure you check your attic, basement, parents' house, closets, or anywhere else that you can think of.
Definitely do not get rid of any of these toys unless you have researched the value.
What were some of [music] your favorite toys that you had as a child?
Are there any that you regret getting rid of?
