This video critiques Hollywood's practice of 'woke' reinterpretation of classical works like The Odyssey, arguing that modern filmmakers add liberal political messages, celebrity casting, and rewritten characters to traditional stories, while the original work already contained timeless themes of adventure, powerful women, moral struggle, and family loyalty without needing such modifications.

Woke Odyssey? Find the Antidote!
Added:The Odyssey just got a woke [music] Hollywood casting makeover.
Because apparently a Greek epic was too Greek for modern liberals.
>> Am I the first woman to translate the Odyssey? No, in fact, I'm not. There were plenty of translations by women in other languages. Because I felt that there were things that were essential to my experience of the original.
>> When you read the Iliad and the Odyssey, very little time is spent in the perspective of the women.
>> Right. Takes time to really consider things from the female perspective.
>> Sheer [ __ ] hubris.
>> For almost 3,000 years, the [music] Odyssey was a story about bravery, loyalty, temptation, sacrifice, and a man fighting to get home to his family.
But Hollywood looked at that and said, "Nope. Too traditional. Too masculine.
>> [music] >> Too focused on marriage, loyalty, and family. Better call the diversity department."
>> What I talked to all the actors about is like, I just want to I want to center it on that and make it [music] feel very fresh for modern audiences and do away with some of those assumptions that aren't based on anything logical.
>> So now we get woke casting, [music] celebrity stunt casting, modern attitudes, rewritten characters, and another classic dragged through the far-left Hollywood machine. Because liberal filmmakers cannot just [music] tell a great story. They have to correct it, update it, lecture us about it, and remake it in their own image. This is what woke Hollywood does.
>> Such a joy to come back and to come back now, as you can imagine, being more just comfortable in yourself makes these sorts of, you know, projects more enjoyable.
>> So, Homer, how do you feel about this screen time given to these women considering how little you spent with them?
Okay.
>> Take something people have loved for centuries, change the casting, rewrite the characters, add a liberal political message, then act shocked when audiences complain. They call it reimagining. Most normal people call it ruining the story.
>> And look between the lines and present the subtext, the context that we may have missed otherwise.
>> And and looking at how do you create a consistent and accessible world around that that feels vital and credible.
>> It is the same tired far-left formula Hollywood uses over and over again. And here's the funniest part. The Odyssey never [music] needed a woke makeover. It already had adventure, powerful women, danger, temptation, moral struggle, a loyal wife, a father trying to return to his son.
But apparently Hollywood cannot recognize timeless values unless they come with a liberal casting memo.
>> OH, BROTHER, THIS GUY STINKS.
>> I'M HAPPY TO THINK THAT MY translation might be doing something to inspire and open doors for younger women, maybe also people of color and people of different social identities, and also to open people's eyes to the fact that in fact social identities do matter >> [laughter] >> for the words we speak, for the ways we interpret. It matters who you are that's bringing um that's bringing an interpretation.
>> There's another choice.
Victory or Death tells the true story of ordinary families who stood against [music] a brutal revolution to defend their homes, their children, their freedom, and their faith. No woke rewrite, [music] no far-left lecture, no liberal elites trying to explain why tradition is bad and Christianity is embarrassing. Skip Hollywood's woke version of the Odyssey [music] and watch the antidote with Victory or Death. Watch a film that respects history instead of rewriting it. Choose faith over leftist ideology, family over fashion, courage over modern conformity.
[music] Watch Victory or Death because great stories deserve better than woke Hollywood.
