Destiny's Surgery Day & what's been going on..Added:
Morning guys. I'm having surgery today.
Despite me smiling, I am actually very nervous. Today I'm having what is called a hysteroscopy. You can go look it up yourself. I'll spare you the um visual details. But that is what I'm having today. It's an inoff procedure, but I do have to go under anesthesia. So I'm like this is a surgery to me. That is a major thing. If I have to go under, that is a surgery. So it shouldn't take too long.
There should be like 20 to 30 minutes, but I do have to go under. So Mitch is taking me obviously and he's going to take care of me. Obviously, he vowed to do that when he married me. I have not been able to eat or drink anything for the last 8 hours, but it's really been like 11 hours by now. And I can't use the bathroom because I have to give a urine sample there and I have to use the bathroom so bad and it's a long drive there. But anyway, I'm getting ready to go to that. And yeah, I just wanted to take you guys along on the process, let you guys a little bit in on what's been going on. I was scared to see myself on anesthesia because um I've only been on it once and that was to get my wisdom teeth out. And Mitch was there for that actually. That was 10 years ago.
And uh I think they say that there's like three kind of reactions that people have on coming off of anesthesia. you're either really emotional, you're really funny, or you're kind of like angry or like don't talk. And I was the super emotional one. I was just crying for Mitch. I was like, I want Mitch. Um I wish I had that video to show you guys, but I don't know how I'm going to act.
So, we'll see. They told me to dress comfortable, so that's what I'm doing.
You think I'm allowed to brush my teeth?
They said no water and stuff, but as long as I'm not swallowing it, right?
>> Okay.
>> She's going to do so well.
>> Are you ready to take care of me all your life?
>> You're on your own.
>> No, >> you got to drive home. You got to drive me home.
>> I brought some beers.
>> We will crash if I drive home. But all right, guys. We are here. I'm so nervous. I've been kind of distracted my whole way here. We've been listening to a podcast and now my heart is like racing. But I really just have to pee.
That's the thing. And then I'll be good.
>> Yeah.
>> So, >> and you'll pee once you get in there.
>> Yeah. Exactly. So, all right. Let's go in here, get this over with. Like I said, they said it should be only like 20 to 30 minutes.
Um, but I'm still nervous.
>> Yeah.
>> My heart's racing.
>> You're going to be fine. It's just going to be a little bit of a rest day.
>> Yeah. You have a little me day.
>> All looped up.
>> Yeah. All looped up, >> right? Okay, let's go. Let's go in here.
Just got my IV. Kind of hurt, but I hate the way it looks, but yeah. Now I'm waiting for the doctor to come in to take me back. I'm so nervous. I feel like with an IV, you can't like bend your arm, which I hate. I feel like the needle's going to poke me further. But he said I had a good bane, so I get that a lot.
I'm so tired.
>> This feels ethically like gray, but she's she's out of surgery. She's a little tired.
>> I don't feel my cramps are a lot. Yeah, you just look miserable.
>> I'm so thirsty.
>> Yeah, she hasn't drank any water. Hasn't eaten anything um in a long time.
>> Yep. But she did so well. Went so quick.
She did good, my love. And >> yeah, now she's just a little sleepy.
Probably going to nap all day, but we're going to go see if she wants to eat something.
No, it's okay. And we'll see when this stuff wears off a little bit. She tends to get really hit by the anesthesia. So, you're still okay.
And she's out.
>> Back home from the procedure. As you can tell, I'm a little bit more alive now, but my throat is like so dry. I think that's because I'm a mouth breather and they like put a mask over my face and I was just breathing through my mouth. But it's like so scratchy my throat. But anyway, got home, took a shower and I'm just like so tired.
A little bit drowsy, but just like kind of winded it feels like. So for the rest of the day, you can catch me here on this couch. I ain't going nowhere. I'm going to binge watch this show on I think it's on is it on Hulu or or HBO?
It's called Couples Therapy. It's really good. I love it. So, if you guys are looking for a new show, Coup's Therapy on HBO. Also, my friend is the sweetest ever. She bought me this PJ set for my surgery so that I could just be comfy and cozy. and she dropped it off at my door and I was like, I literally have the best friends ever. And my other friend is bringing me bringing us dinner. I think she's making us soup so that I don't have to worry about cooking dinner today. So, that is those are good friends. I'm just chilling. I'll be here all day and I'll update you guys if anything out of the ordinary happens.
>> She brought us dinner.
>> Oh, nice.
>> Oh my gosh. A medium. That's too much >> of Dutch brazies.
>> Sorry, she didn't bring you anything.
It's for me. She didn't bring you anything. It's just for me.
>> So, >> don't be jealous. Try not to be jealous.
>> Put my >> Okay, it's like four or five hours later and I'm in the same spot as you can see.
And I've honestly been in pain like pretty much all day. Even though I took like pain medication, I just feel like very tired and like there's an underlying pain. Just like a lingering pain. There we go. Kind of just feels like period cramps because if you looked up what a h a hysteroscopy is, then that would make sense. Yeah. Just wanted to give you guys an update on how I'm feeling. Mitch and I have just been sitting here watching TV, hang out all day cuz we woke up so early. We're both so tired, but I'm kind of scared to like go to sleep. I don't know. That's what we've been doing. My friend dropped off some chicken tortilla soup and a coffee for me, which is get you friends that know your coffee order and like bring you coffee unprompted. Like that was so sweet. I feel so spoiled. I will definitely update you guys tomorrow on how I'm feeling. Um, just like kind of at the little 24-hour mark, check in and then we can talk a little bit more about what's going on. But honestly, I just feel so tired. I was getting ready to show you guys our dinner and then I noticed this cricket. Mitch is going to come kill it. You see it right here in the middle with my sandal. With my sandal is crazy.
Oh, that is not my old sandal. Just cuz I got new ones. You're so funny. I don't know if I've ever had chicken tortilla soup, but it sounds good and it looks even better. So, I'm excited for that.
Um, and she even like individually packed us like chips, cheese, and sour cream. I'm going to add avocado, cilantro, and green onion like I do to like pretty much all of our Mexican dishes. You know, the Mexican dish essentials. So, we're going to eat that. It's kind of a late dinner, but we ate at like 4:30, so we weren't really hungry. We're going to eat this and watch a show. Smells so yummy.
Let's see if I can do this without making a mess.
Shredded cheese on both of those.
Green onion.
I love cilantro, so I'm putting a lot on mine.
This requires a spoon. I thought it was very like soupy and perfect.
Daisy, this one's yours. Do you want more? Cuz you really love sour cream.
>> Yes, please.
>> I know.
Two dollops of daisy. Is that good?
>> Yep.
>> Okay. This smells amazing. I'm like hungry, but also not. I don't know.
Like I'm going to eat this because I'm hungry and it smells good, but I'm also just like, you know, when you're like so in pain that you kind of don't want to eat cuz you're nauseous. That's how I'm feeling right now.
That's what I'm feeling. That feeling.
We're the same people. I feel like you doing that.
>> Oh, I got chips.
>> Yep. Well, you just kind of cool. Kind of cool of you to do.
That was a cool thing of you to do. Was it?
>> Yep.
You're so cute. Hey. Oh my gosh. We We watched the Michael Jackson movie. I've watched it twice now. But we Wait a second. You have pencil all over your nose, honey.
What you been doing?
>> I know, but why is it on your nose?
>> I don't know.
>> Wait, that's so funny.
>> Oh, I guess I've been itching my nose.
>> All right, bust move.
No, I can't. I'm not MJ.
>> But we've been watched the Michael Jackson movie and it was so good. And now it's been like what almost two weeks and it's just stuck in our head.
>> Yeah, it was just a good movie.
>> It was >> such a good movie. You're so cute. Mitch shaved his mustache for all you haters.
I'm just kidding. It wasn't for the haters, but he did shave it for me cuz I wanted to see and kiss his lippies.
>> It was rocking though.
>> It was rocking. It was popping. But it's going to grow back. You have hair that grows back in a week. So, you're going to be fine.
>> No, I'm not going to grow it out again.
>> Oh, no.
>> Not really a little bit >> cuz it's too hot in the summer cuz you're going to >> It's time to clean up. If I want cutting my hair tomorrow.
>> Mhm. Buzz cut.
>> Not a buzz cut, but it's coming all off.
>> Yep.
>> I'm dying to see you with like a good buzzcut.
>> Like ball.
>> No, but just like not lined up. Not a lineup, but like nicely done.
>> Lined up.
>> Like the show you like a lineup. Like you have a lineup.
>> Lined up. Do you know what that means?
>> I like I have an image in my head. I don't know if I know the >> It's your um your hairline. It's like precisely like cleanly cut your line up.
>> I tell them not to do that cuz every time they try it's like I look it makes a forehead look. It's like I like my line. I don't need a lineup.
>> My line like I don't It's like a good line. I don't need it.
You're so >> Yeah.
>> Yeah. You're so handsome. You're so cute. And I love looking at you through this camera.
My baby.
I'm back with an update on my surgery.
It is 2 or 3 days posttop and I'm feeling like 100% pretty much back to normal. I did a workout this morning and I'm feeling pretty good. So, that is great. Let me start from the top because I don't know if I've been like super clear about exactly what kind of procedure that I had to um do. It's called a hysteroscopy with a D and C polyctomy. I think that's what it's called. I'll put it on the screen if I'm wrong. But basically what um was going on was that I was having some issues with my period and in between my cycles I was spotting which is obviously a red flag because first of all that had never happened to me before. So I was like okay something is off. Something is not right here. And it took me 14 months to find out what was going on. and I went and got an ultrasound because I had gone to the gynecologist for the first time in my 28 years of life. I honestly feel embarrassed about it and that it took this long. But um that is just how the card stacked up. So I'm just obviously glad that in the end I was able to figure out what it was. I went and got an ultrasound on my uterus and they came back and told me that I had a polip on my uterus. um and that that was most likely what was causing me the spotting and the bleeding in between my cycles and they suggested that I get it removed obviously. So that is what we did. That is what the procedure was and that is why it's called that. So, basically, it's an overgrowth of cells in your uterine lining, and it can create um these little polyps that are just like hanging on your uterine line. And so, it can cause like different complications.
And for me, it was spotting bleeding in between my period for like literally, guys, this is kind of TMI, but I just want anyone else who is out there that might be going through this to know that they aren't alone. But I was bleeding for pretty much half of the month. Half of the month, maybe almost even three weeks. Um, so literally in the span of 14 months, I was bleeding for 7 months total pretty much. And so obviously that wasn't normal. It really affected my mental health. Um, and it still does to this day. Just bleeding that much, you know, is just like it gets in the way of daily activities, daily life. And so I'm really hoping that this procedure is going to solve that issue of spotting between my periods because it was honestly such a mental game of just like knowing that you are going to be bleeding for 3 weeks out of the month.
Um, and I feel like Mitch and I are going to make a whole sit down video um, in our next video of just like so much more that goes into this than just my health and just the polip in general.
So, I feel like I'll save most of that for the next video. But, if you guys have any questions, let me know in the comments and I'll answer them or I'll answer them in the next video. But my pathology results came back. Um, and they were perfectly normal, non-cancerous. It was benign.
So, praise the Lord for that because that's also another part of it that was like scary to me. And just like any female reproductive things are just like so scary to me. And I just want this video to encourage you that if you have never been to a gynecologist before, please make sure you are getting your yearly checkups, papmears, whatever. If something feels off, it probably is and go get it checked right away. I've had a paps smear before and stuff, but that was just at like my general like physician, but I've never been to a gynecologist before. So, I'm really glad that I ended up going and figuring out, you know, what was causing me this for a year. And it's like I wish I would have just gone sooner to the gynecologist cuz like this issue could have been figured out much quicker and I wouldn't have had to suffer for 14 months. But I don't know. I guess this is just God's plan. Like I am just saying that and hoping that and believing that and having faith that like everything is working out the way that it should be. But yeah, I just wanted to jump on here and give you guys an update and kind of explain a little bit more cuz I felt like I was vague in the beginning. But honestly, this is like a really like nerve-wracking topic for me to talk about and just like be open and transparent about because I feel like it's very vulnerable and personal. But like I said, if it could help anyone, you know, encourage you guys to go get your yearly checkups or if you feel like something is wrong with your body, like definitely go get it checked out. always get a second opinion. And yeah, so brighter days ahead hopefully. I don't know when I'm going to be able to tell if the procedure made a difference.
Hopefully pretty soon, but um we will see. I don't know. But anyways, thank you guys so much for watching, listening, and we'll see you guys in the next video.
