May Week 4 Check In and Week 5 Budget with Me | Family of 5Ajouté :
Good morning, guys. Welcome or welcome back to my channel. Happy Friday.
Today is May 29th. It's my kids' last day of school. Oh my gosh. This school year has flown by.
Uh Carter had his kindergarten graduation on Wednesday. So, here's some pictures of me and Brian with him um at his little ceremony. They did like a a luau themed like activity center. And then at the end, we went in his classroom and they sang some songs and did some counting and things and were presented with their um diplomas.
Uh so, that was super sweet. Um this week, we also had some new chickens. So, if you're not new, you might be familiar with how we lost uh three chicks to a raccoon.
So, we decided to hatch some new baby chicks. So, we did hatch four of the five eggs that were in our incubator and they're all cute as a button, very um friendly, which is surprising. Chicks usually, you know, run from you and they're they're not running from us, which is encouraging. Hopefully, they'll be friendly chicks friendly chickens for a long time. It's yet to be seen whether they're boys or girls, though, so um that's one of the most important factors.
Because if it's a boy, it's going to be dog food.
>> [laughter] >> Anyways, I hope you guys have had a great week.
We are getting ready to move offices at my job. Come Dora wants to get in my lap.
Um we're getting ready to move offices at my job, so today I'm sure it'll be just us packing and moving.
We're moving to a different location about 30 minutes from where we are right now and plan to be set up and ready to go there on Monday. So, it is supposed to rain today though, so hopefully we don't get rained out while we're trying to move.
Let's go ahead and get into the budget check-in and paycheck budget closeout.
So, from week three we rolled over $5.38.
Uh, I Oh, not me, Brian. Brian got paid and he put $1,000 into our joint checking account.
His check was really short because he had just gone back to work after having his surgery. So, for the month of May, Brian's checks were about $1,200 short.
So, we're so lucky that we decided to have him have his surgery in a month where we have a magic month for me because if we didn't have a fifth paycheck, we would have been up the creek without a paddle. We didn't end up needing to take any money out of our savings account to pay our bills, but we didn't put any money into savings like we planned to do. So, all in all, it, you know, it wasn't as bad as it could have been, but definitely not the greatest.
Um, Brian stopped and picked up his inhaler from CVS and that was $10 out of the health category.
He got gas in his truck, which was 80 bucks and $0.01. Bro, I'm trying to, um, pull the paper down. Stop nudging my hand.
I know I love you. You're so sweet.
Um, Brian stopped at Hitchcock's, which is like a local grocery store, and spent $6.42 on something there. I'm not sure what it was at this time.
I got gas in my van and it was $60.97.
We got groceries from Walmart for $134.20.
We took Thor to the groomer and that was $44.
Our HBO Max subscription came out for $3.27.
Uh we had to get chick feed for these new chickens that we hatched and that was $22.99.
My student loan came out for $150.46.
Our solar panels came out for $225.19.
And um after Carter's graduation on Wednesday, we or not we, I went back to work but Brian picked um Bryson and Carter up from school early and they went to Culver's afterwards and that was $30.32.
So we're rolling over $237.55 into the fifth week. Oops.
Into the fifth week of May.
All right, so our income for this week was $1,005.38.
Our bill total was $378.92.
Our variable expenses was $388.91.
And we didn't save anything.
And that gives us our $237.55 for rollover.
So as far as the fifth week is looking, that starts today and ends on June 4th. So I did get paid. I put $2,000 in our joint checking account and then we had the $237.55 of rollover.
So we have to pay our mortgage, which is $18.99, Brian's life insurance, which is $35.93, and tithe, $50.
So, that's a total of $19.84.
Our budget for groceries this week is $100, and that's just out of our checking account. I did get the Walmart One Pay credit card, so I get 5% cash back at Walmart.
So, I've been stacking up our cash back in anticipation of using it for Christmas.
Um but, since we're in a pinch, I'm going to use our cash back to help us get groceries this week.
I think right now I have $68 worth of cash back on that card. So, it'll be 100 + 68, so $168 for the week for groceries.
Um and then for cars, 140. Um if Brian spends 80 and I spend 60, which is what we spent last time, then that would be 140. So, $240 for our variable expenses.
And that would leave us $12.62 uh at the end of the month, which I don't anticipate that uh $12.62 being there, just because the variable expenses could go left real quick. So, [laughter] um but, that's the the plan. It's the end of the month. We just got to make it through one more week.
Um I once heard somebody say we can make anything work for 7 days, and that's what we're going to do. So, we're going to make it work for 7 days in anticipation of the new month.
So, thank you guys so much for watching this video. I hope you enjoyed it. Give it a thumbs up, and subscribe if you haven't already, and I will see you in my next one.
Bye.
