WAR FOR INDEPENDENCE! Europa Universalis V - Wales - Episode 5

Well, at this point in time, England is once again trying to annex us. So, we currently have at the moment 18 years to stop this somehow.

[00:00:59]Hopefully, they have stopped this in the past. I don't think I'm going to trust that though. So, what I'm going to try and do is currently right now I'm trying to think of the best way to make it so if we can have it so we are a disloyal subject that is the best thing we can do. Um, one thing because if I can get a little bit of 50% it just automatically fails. Can I do this with multiple people?

[00:01:26]No. Damn. So, I can't do that. This frustrate annexation thing was actually making it so it was faster for some [ __ ] reason. I don't know why. Um, so we can't do that. I know technically there is actually one thing that we could do that if I I don't want I would hate this option.

[00:01:51]Um, technically I could try and start o start take take over as one of my colonial nations. Um, but I really want to avoid that right now. I know for a fact we are going to be trying to continue annexing all of my territory I have in Wales. Um, all my vassels there.

[00:02:08]Besides that, I think right now the best thing we can do to try and make it so because the reason why we're so loyal is relative power. I'm not going to be able to do [ __ ] about that right now. subject opinion of overlord is actually pretty high. So that we might be able to try and target essentially what I want to try and do is what we can try is let me see can I technically my main. I hate that it's my main.

[00:02:40]I hate that I can't change my primary because if we can make it so like this was like um like less. We could try and have it so that way we could potentially try and get it so that we can get uh a little bit more there. I think for right now um I'm going to start building a spy network. I'm gonna try and see if I can for one um I want to try and see if there's anything we can do to try and like break just keep breaking trees with them essentially because if we can do that so like access actions.

[00:03:18]Yeah, we just need my diplomat available and then we could try and see because if we can just keep breaking treaties then continuously we could potentially have it. So that's one way. Otherwise, I am probably going to keep trying to do insults. Uh I want to try and see if I can spam these cuz right now I need to get them to be pissed off at me.

[00:03:49]So, I can't send an insult at the moment. Yeah, again, for another five months, but we'll try and have it. So, what I want to do is I'm going to try and do things that will increase my antagonism because that will reduce their opinion of me. Um, I can't conquer territory. So, we can't do it that way.

[00:04:03]Um, I can hope that potentially like if I have to that is going like yes, we're 1819.

[00:04:14]If I have to, I will go along with the war because again, we at the moment have 18 years. So, we have some time. In that time, what I'm going to do is I'm going to keep trying to build up my my uh my vassels that I've got and my colonies.

[00:04:32]We can do that as a way to try and build up our power so that they won't they'll have a harder time to annex us. I know the more territory we have, the longer it takes. because right now I am just nowhere near strong enough to fight these guys. And so I'm hoping we can somehow just avoid this entirely. If I have to fight that war, it's not going to go well. Okay, at the moment technically is paused because relations are technically low enough.

I want to make sure I can keep trying to have you guys be pissed off at me because this is your opinion of me and currently it's not low enough that I'm uh a disl at least it's not going to be enough that I can properly try and break away by the time I have build up enough to be able to break away cuz let's see. [00:06:17]So, at least we can get this to stop every once in a while. We just have to get my opinion low enough and then it it works. Um, for right now, don't really need more sailors. other that more efficiency of our cabinet would be great.

[00:06:38]Yeah, because right now it keeps going back up whenever they can convince me to like me enough. Can I like reject their diplomats? I need to look up and see if that's the thing I can do. Okay, a war started up with England again being brought into a war with Castile.

[00:06:53]Last time a war started, that was the time when they decided to break away their annexation. I'm hoping they do that because right now basically what I've been trying to do is perfect for example I'm in all the territory I've been colonizing right now I've been saying stay with me for right now that way I can increase the number of territories I have so that it takes longer for you to annex me.

[00:07:37]Just doesn't help that. Like right now, I hate that like I'm I'm starting to bleed more people than I'd like to around here for migration. So, I think I need to stop colonizing for a bit though, which sucks.

[00:07:50]I'm trying to annex two of my guys at a time right now.

[00:07:54]And I just know for a fact that I'm going to have to have it so that when there's five years left of this, if I if they haven't stopped it by then, I'm going to have to because I'm going to lose this cast's belly, the resist annexation.

[00:08:14]Sadly, I'm not a disloyal subject. I'm still annoyed with that because of the subject opinion because I I I was looking it up. There's no way for me to prevent diplomatic actions from another faction, which I [ __ ] hate. So, I can't say like, "Hey, I don't want you to improve your opinion to me. I don't want to do this."

[00:08:32]Um, like all I can do I know for a fact I've been trying to have you gather as much experience as possible on these cab units. I'm going to need them when we try and do this war. And I'm hoping that effectively maybe what we should do is I'm hoping and maybe it would be the best time to do it now.

[00:08:59]If we can get if we can see England get into a war where they get their asses absolutely kicked.

[00:09:07]After that, it's probably the best time for me to try and break away. That's that's likely the case because at this point in time right now, it's just slowly ticking up. It's kind of stabilized around like 15 years. It is.

[00:09:20]And I do uh start ignoring the treaty of fish guard. Yeah, I'm going to ignore it too cuz I want to just push over this way as well cuz yeah, I think for right now I'm going to just have it so we'll keep exploring for right now. I think we need to stop colonizing for a little bit. Try and let my population recover for now.

[00:09:47]and I have to keep an eye on it like what's going on with uh England. I'm hoping that we can get them to a position where maybe they lose a lot of territory and we can try and see if that will [sighs] again help us out where right now I hate that I can't do this right now.

[00:10:17]We we are we may now declare war upon a country which are currently fighting on the same side which I hate feel like at this point I might need to just do the war as soon as I can. Right now I have the option to again just randomly ask for money. I'm going to keep just trying to siphon cash off from England. And I'm trying to build up my army as much as I can. I I can't build it up much, but if I can make sure you guys are built up as much as possible and have as much experience as possible, that'll give me the best chance of fighting you guys.

[00:10:50]And I know like I can keep giving territory over here and keeping it for myself. But honestly, at the moment right now, it doesn't help a ton. It changes it like by a couple months um each time. [sighs] And so I feel like for right now I have to just God I'm g have to just [ __ ] bite the bullet. I'm gonna get my ass [ __ ] kicked up. I want to try and see if if anything at all I can try and annex all of my vassels around here.

[00:11:21]We do that then we try and go for it because I just got one guy over here. I just got you guys. Um I'm working on you guys. It's four four years. I need to get my relations up high enough and then I can try and get the marsh.

[00:11:38]I just [sighs and gasps] I lose either way if this goes through.

[00:11:48]And I got lucky last time that they um that they stopped of their own free will and I can't convince them to stop again. At least if anything right now they're not all of Castile anymore right now. So if I try and do this between the seven years that they have the treaty nullled, that would probably be the best time to do it. So I don't think I'm going to be able to get everybody cuz right now mains doesn't really offer them much. But I hate that I can't cuz like right now I have it. So I'm trying to get France to like me as much as possible just happened there.

[00:12:40][ __ ] I just don't know if I should do this now because the thing is I I I think I need to buy a little bit more time. I think what I can do is I can wait just before this would go through. I might need to make another cast of valleys, but I want to basically wait until the very end of this, which actually is perfect and essentially I'm going to stop doing um colonial chargers for now. Uh, I'm going to stop doing exploration for right now as well and focus my attention on just building my military up as much as possible. It's not going to do much, but I can try and make sure I have as many people as possible.

[00:13:35]Like, I want to make sure every single one of you guys has an armory. I'm going to keep recruiting these cab units and I'm going to keep trying to hopefully get a very powerful cab force that can break levies. They still have a lot and I don't appreciate that.

[00:14:03]Okay, we have light infantry, heavy infantry, artillery, and essentially we'd probably focus on trying to I would not be able to really occupy much territory. We could try and also just save up a bunch of money um for mercenaries. There's no mercenaries around here though, which is a problem.

[00:14:23]Okay, we are now at the point where so I was looking at it.

[00:14:28]Trying to annex these guys will make it so it takes 18 years. That's that's not going to go through. So I will have to do this essentially once I finish these guys.

[00:14:43]I was kind of hoping that England would maybe have a war. It's going to hurt them.

[00:14:52]Um, at the moment mains is nothing. At least that's something. It's just they also still have a lot. Like we do not have a lot. I'm going to try and see as soon as we start trying to do the independence.

[00:15:10]I'm going to try and [ __ ] beg France to join. If I can get France to join, I think we have a chance.

[00:15:22]If they do not join, I am dead and we're going to lose. Because if they get this to go through, we lose. If we lose this war, we lose. So, we have to win. We have to win to even survive.

[00:15:40]Again, I the best I can think about is trying to focus on killing a lot of tiny armies. Um, with you guys, I might as well maybe grab some boats. I don't [ __ ] know.

[00:15:53]Just so in case I need to, I can sail to other locations.

[00:15:57]I've got an army of 2,000 right now.

[00:15:59]These guys carry 500 each. I'll try and have a fleet of four. I don't know.

[00:16:06]I'll try and have something cuz like at this point in time, I don't know. So, we'll try and have you guys get that.

So, it's going to basically be just like these three vassels I have. You're the one I'm vassalizing right now. So, we'll have about 10,000 guys versus about 100,000 guys almost.

[00:17:24]God, I don't know how this is going to go. If we can somehow convince France, please for the love of God.

[00:17:31]If I can somehow convince France, like I'm that's what I'm trying to somewhat try and see if I can save my money because actually that's probably the reason why I shouldn't actually build these ships.

At least I'll do that just because then I can at least transport this army because if we're going to focus on like maybe just get killing armies and that's the only way we get war score. Um that at least means this little army uh allows me to go over here. It's it's at least something like I've got those guys.

[00:18:05]And the amount of territory it adds, it just doesn't never really helps.

[00:18:13]I need to I was trying to increase my diplomatic spending. So I need to get up to um two.

[00:18:29]Any other diplomat is saved to try and talk to France [sighs] because this is do or die here. We either win and we're able to survive or we die and then that's the end of this campaign.

[00:18:56]Okay, let's do it. Let's do We have to We have to This is going to finish in 10 years. I can can slowly kind of delay it by annexing my own allies, but at this point I feel like we have to go for it. I've built up what I can for an for an army and it's just uh do or die time.

[00:20:06]This is the battle for Welsh independence.

[00:20:11]So this war is started by Wales and the war goal is to liberate us. So wars is control the whole country of Wales. Independence gain taking war score if they prevent their former warlord from occupying their territory.

[00:20:25]The former subject needs to enforce their independence through a peace treaty. A white peace will restore the status quo.

[00:20:32]If anything, no I was going to say technically I could almost potentially try and because this did reset the annexation.

[00:20:44]Um, is there anybody anybody that would offer uh join an alliance or even close?

[00:20:55]So, sort privess France is at minus 92 for trust towards me and then the issue is just like the war. They've got positive opinion. Same court language.

[00:27:05]The blockades are going to [ __ ] me up. I can get attacker ticking. It's going to max out at 25% at most. It's not going to help much. What we can do is try and occupy as much territory as we possibly can.

If I wasn't at war, France would actually ally with me. If I can get that alliance, I think we'll have a chance to survive. So, we're going to start trying to do that. And we want to um infiltrate administration.

[00:29:36]So they're they're going to be able to occupy or blockade my ports and stuff like that. I can't stop that. So yeah, just let's just keep focusing on territory. I'm just so [ __ ] worried that they're going to have an army pop up at some point and just destroy me.

[00:29:50]But they haven't raised their levies. I think they just aren't taking me [ __ ] seriously at all. And like that's what's going on right now.

[00:29:59]So, please keep doing that because if I can get attacker taking maxed, I'll keep an eye out for territory or for tiny little armies I can kill because if I can take out a tiny little army, I'll gladly do so.

[00:39:00]So, cuz when I do assimilate populations into our culture, I want to go towards Welsh.

[00:39:17]So, let's start assimilating. We're going to start becoming Welsh now, as we [ __ ] should have been from the [ __ ] get-go.

You guys are actually the most powerful in my territory now, not the uh baronss anymore. So, I actually have the baronss go with the thing that lets me get more naval because I I do want to focus more on naval. I do want to do that. So, I would say I know we'd like to go towards outward more if we can.

So, I'm going to literally spend as much money as I can until I'm barely making anything right now so that we can get out of this as fast as we can.

I do need to technically get them to have their culture not hate me as much. They did that a lot with me. So that way we can try and have it so it's easier for me to assimilate areas and just have better public order from having English in my territories.

And now I'm actually making progress here again. But we have a lot of issues right now where so my influence is lower than theirs.

Um, and it was minus 75% before when they were a accepted culture, but now that they're a tolerated culture, um, it's a bit better for us. Although I do hate that, yeah, it's going to take a while for my hostility to improve again just due to the fact that yeah, to make it so that they're a accepted culture really pissed them off. Also, why is my living room so low?

So they're definitely a little upset with that for the moment.

So I should be able to annex you guys all when I finish this siege. thought I was going to be safe joining in on with France as my ally. I currently had to join in this war with them uh with Naples. Um I can't do [ __ ] to Naples, so I'm just waiting for the war to end cuz this is France's war primarily. Um I'm not going to specifically nope out like number-wise France is winning. So I'll just let them keep doing their thing. I'm just worried about my uh guys here. I also now finally have another slot for uh my cabinet. So, I've started to try and convert more or assimilate more of my people to Welsh. So, if we can just get everybody at least to at least over 50%.

I'm trying to beat these other colonies to the punch to try and make sure that I can keep expanding my colonies over here. Still worried about using up too much of my population for my capital cuz I I I would love to be able to get it to a metropolis, the Megalopolis, I mean. But I don't know if I'm ever going to get to 400,000 people, especially since I'm trying to colonize so much. Like so many people are just migrating out, which I do not like.

Then once I'm done here, then go down here, increase control again, do the same thing because that'll speed it up.

Like I could try and force my uh my vast my my uh colonies over here to start wars around here to like hey I can have you try and take this territory. You can try and take some of this territory. We could try and do that as a way to expand. We could do that because right now I'm worried that like I see France is dropping off a lot of spots around here. I don't have full vision of what they've got.
