[00:00:00]In a trial, never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever do not under any circumstances oversell your case to the jury. Don't do it. What happens is a trial is all about expectations. When you're a juror, it's a very manicured process. You walk into it and and you don't know what to think about anybody.

[00:00:20]Studies have shown that when you turn on the television and you watch two tennis players just hitting the ball back and forth, you know nothing about either one of them. Subconsciously, you're going to start rooting for one of them over the other one in about 10 seconds. And and that's because and it could be because of what they're wearing, it could be because of a sound they make when they hit the ball. Jury is no different. And and they are constantly measuring, how should I feel about this? How should I think about this? And when you go in and your opening statement is, that other person's a piece of [ __ ] they're a lying, you know, this and that and they're evil and they're manipulative and they're money-grubbing and they're in this to hurt other people and you just can't believe a [ __ ] thing they say and you you you pull one of those numbers, uh jumping up and down and then they call this witness to the witness stand.

[00:01:04]It's a 24-year-old that where is wearing a suit that doesn't fit that looks like a baby realtor and cries in front of the jury, you've you lost. You lost because you oversold your case. And it doesn't matter if you're a prosecutor, defense lawyer, insurance lawyer, it doesn't matter if you're in civil litigation, you never ever ever never never never oversell your case.
