RavenHawk offers a necessary reality check on how artificial hype inevitably collapses under the weight of actual market demand. It is a straightforward lesson in why speculative bubbles in modern coinage always burst.

THIS Is Why The July 4th Privy Quarter Prices Are Falling Fast!
Added:Hey everybody, Raven here. Today I want to talk to you about the 2026 July 4th privy dual date quarter that has been super hot in the market but is the prices are just dropping extremely fast my friends. Um a big shout out to Rob finds treasure. He actually gifted me this one when I saw him down in Texas uh this last weekend. And so I wanted to share with you what is going on. So, what's really interesting with this quarter is when the prices initially came out, PCGS had a $5,000 bounty. NGC had a $2,500 bounty. I saw coins going as high as $1,000 a piece. Uh it looked like they had settled at 650 for a little bit, then 625, and then the numbers just kept declining. Um, a couple days back I checked and they were 350. 325 was the uh low. And then this morning I took a look at the prices that sold yesterday. And right here I am going to show you that for 190 or or I'm sorry that'd be $24 you could get a privy quarter. And then the second one was a 205 number but something else was accepted. Whatever the best offer was. And then I actually saw one for 185, making it now under $200 for this coin. Now, it makes me wonder where is this going to bottom out for the market for the privy quarter because they only made $250,000 of these. And from what I understand, they were released in the federal district. So, you're talking New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Kansas City, um Dallas, Fort Worth, and so on. Atlanta, you know, the different places where the major federal banks are. And so that makes sense why Rob was able to find so many in the boxes that he had. Um, you know, and the really cool thing is that Rob gave over a hundred of these away to the community, ladies and gentlemen.
Absolutely free. Something he didn't have to do, but you know, he's been doing this for eight plus years. So, you know, if anybody was going to find him, it was him. But honestly, I think the quarters are pretty cool. I don't think you're going to see really high grades because you know what? They just kind of manhandle these from what I can tell.
Now, this one's nice enough. Um, it's got a little something right there, but I think that's just in the plastic. And, uh, the reverse is really cool. I like the Liberty Bell, you know. This one will be uncirculated. Probably something in the tune of like an MS63, you know. And I'm very, very fortunate and very appreciative of having this coin. Uh, one of the things that you need to think about is that there's a lot of hype behind this and it was shocking that the US Mint put this out strictly for the public. You know, they've been doing a lot of money grabs lately. I don't know if you guys have seen the half ounce gold that was over $10,000. The 1oz gold Liberty bill that was $19,600 on their site. $750 for the half ounce silver uh that they put out recently.
So, you would think a coin like this where there's only 250,000 minted that they might actually, you know, make another money grab and sell these versus just putting them out in circulation.
But the one thing that is kind of frustrating and is seen is that, you know, they're only distributed in certain areas. So, it's not really fair in a lot of states. Uh, you know, we're not going to see these in Oklahoma banks for probably quite a while. And I think there's a lot of people out there that know about them, including bank tellers.
They're going to swoop them up for themselves. You know, it's it's only the right thing to do if you think about it.
Um u one thing to consider is the population of this. Now, 250,000 is not as much as, you know, the 2 million each they did for the West Point quarters.
However, they did make a 94 satin finish that came in a special set and they only minted 167,000 plus of those. Right now, I have one right here of that coin and this is a M SP70 1994 and it is called the 100 greatest modern coins second edition label. This is ranked number 47. And the retail on it is $325 for an MS70, ladies and gentlemen.
These coins right here, I don't think you're going to see very many over MS67.
You might see some 68s. Um, it'd be possible for 70s, but you know, like I said, they haven't been handling these that gingerly. So, it's kind of interesting to see where prices were settled. Um, the reason the prices are dropping the way they are is people are just scrambling to try to sell it for what they can and there's always somebody on eBay willing to short everybody else because they want to get that money because if you think about it, they only have 25 cents into the quarter. And so, anything past that is a huge amount of profit. Um, you know, and it's amazing to see some of the prices that I did see on online when I first saw them. It's like, holy cow, 650, 625, then it kind of went to 5 and 4 and danced around a little bit. Um, you know, so I'm thinking honestly at some point the uh retail for these will probably be 75 bucks in raw, you know, uncirculated condition. if they're graded and they get a good grade, you know, they might be around the same as the uh 94 nickel. But then again, supply and demand is one thing. Now, here's the thing. That 94 nickel, a lot of people don't know a lot about it. So, a lot of people aren't asking for it all the time. These July 4th privies, they might actually keep their value up there for a bit because so many people want them. They were hyped in a way that the 94 wasn't. The 94 was really kind of a secret to a lot of people. A lot of people don't realize that that coin exists. This 2026 July 4th privy was advertised all over the nation. It was on news channels and everything. And so it's gotten a lot more hype. Kind of like the 1895 proof Morgan. You know, everybody wants one of those and they'll pay top dollar. Yet there's other years that actually have less mintage. There's a lot to be said about supply and demand when you are dealing with numismatic coins such as this privy dated dual date quarter. Um, you know, I think if you keep your eyes out for a while and just kind of watch the market, you're going to see that these are eventually going to settle out. Who knows exactly where? Like I said, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that they'll probably settle about 75 bucks or so for a raw one. you know, I could be off a little bit. Maybe they'll settle at 125. It's one of those things. It's It's always speculative and you just don't really know. If you like videos like this, ladies and gentlemen, hit us with a like down below. Leave a comment.
