Islamophoria: The Emotional High of Antizionist Islamist Hate

[00:00:02]But there's another phenomenon that nobody has a word for. And that term is Islamophoria.

[00:00:09]Islamophoria isn't actually about Muslims at all, not about Islam at all.

[00:00:13]It's about the emotional frenzy that white Western activists experience when they become swept up in the passions, grievances, and hatreds of Islamist movements when they identify with. They feel what you might call Islamophoria.

[00:00:31]Think about the October 7th terror attacks in Israel. Hamas terrorists committed these crimes. Just as significantly, they reveled in committing these crimes, celebrated it.

[00:00:42]They recorded their jubilance, their joy at murdering Jews and spilling blood and raping. They displayed a kind of ecstatic frenzy as they slaughtered, kidnapped, [clears throat] and brutalized the Jewish civilians. What shocked many Jews was how quickly that frenzy that Islamophoria spread beyond Gaza across the West. Within hours, people were celebrating, romanticizing, justifying the massacre. Others joined the Islamist hate movement within weeks or months, embracing conspiracy theories about Jews, blood libels, and racist caricatures about us while convincing themselves that they were engaged in some great act of courage and justice.

[00:01:27]Meanwhile, they're just a bunch of bigots. We know that hatred can be intoxicating, even addictive. It can create a rush of self-righteousness, a feeling of belonging to something larger than yourself. People mistake that emotional high for some kind of virtue. It's really just prejudice toward Jews. That confusion, that attraction to Islamist hatred of Jews, that's Islamophoria. It's the contagious excitement, emotional intoxication, the mob-like fervor that some people experience when they adopt Islamist hate narratives toward Jews, the West, and America. That's Islamophobia, and it's racist, and it's wrong.
