The guest’s retreat into prayer after an eight-minute evasion marks a total collapse of rational discourse under the pressure of logical scrutiny. It illustrates how performative piety often serves as a final refuge when empirical arguments fail to materialize.

So, I think Ruber is next and then swamp creature after that. So, let me get Rubert uh in here real quick. Uh, now the kitty cam is actually in the way. I have to lean forward to get around the kitty cam.
Welcome in, Rer. Are you at least 18?
And do you believe in God?
>> I am 18 and yes, I do indeed believe in God.
>> Awesome. And which God do you believe in?
>> Um, so I I'm Christian. I believe in in Jesus. Um. Yeah.
>> Okay. And do you believe that uh Jesus slash the Christian God is all good, partially good, or maybe not good?
>> It's a great question. Um and it's one for up to debate. And I really I really appreciate your channel, by the way. I just want to say that. Um and I believe that God is good. That's my personal opinion. Um, and so all throughout my life, obviously I'll be trying to work out what life is. I think every human being can relate to this. And um, and we're certainly not here to just pay taxes, are we really, there's got to be something that's beyond that. And when I get up in the morning and I feel the fresh sun on my face and I walk out and I feel the grass and the world, it feels like everything is in unison. Like we're meant to be here. You feel one. We're not meant to be in this concrete jungle, you know, we're meant to be in the wilderness. And so I feel like we are one with this world. And this world is a beautiful creation that none of us can really comprehend. And um by the way, I'm from England and it's really nice to be calling you. I'm a big fan of the states. Um but when I some basic scientific facts that >> Rer, my friend, I have no idea what you're talking about. My question was, do you believe that God is good?
>> I believe that God is good. Yes, I believe that God is a comprehension and before you can scrutinize and look into the Bible, it's important to kind of try and understand the level of comprehension that the intelligence requires to start believing in a creator of all creation. And now I really appreciate we're having a discussion here and I I really want to hear your side and I would love to listen to you and for us to communicate as people, but I'm just hoping that you might be able to just hear me through and then I can give you the stage is yours and we can have a great conversation.
But like um so yeah, what I was saying was is >> I have no idea how any of that addresses my initial question.
So my question is do you believe that God is good?
>> I told you I believe that God is good.
Right?
>> You want undeniable proof.
>> How did you come to that conclusion?
>> So this is what I'm trying to say. I'm trying to tell you how I came to that conclusion and I'm just saying that that the fact the scientific fact that when I hit my hand on this table, kinetic energy is just being dispersed into sound into thermal. Okay? And um our body decomposes into this earth. But this life form is what holds this vessel up. It's what moves my hands. It's what moves my head. And it's what comprehends life. It's what speaks life. Okay? I have a perspective. And that's something that this body doesn't have without this life. It's scientific fact that we create electricity in our heads. And so when this vessel decomposes on life, this life through scientific fact must manifest. It must go somewhere.
>> Yeah. terms through fertilizer for the for the trees. Yeah, it doesn't go anywhere. There's no >> there's no there's no soul.
>> That's certainly not the case. I It's adorable that you think that's the case, but it doesn't actually answer the question is how do you know God is good?
>> It's interesting you think there's no soul because you have a comprehension.
You have a personality. You have >> Again, the question is how do you know God is good?
>> We're not here to debate whether or not you think souls exist. We're here to debate whether or not you think God is good. And the existence of a soul is a tangental >> uh question. It's not related. So, how do you know that God is good?
>> So, this is a very closed kind of you're closing the box now. I was trying to speak outside of the box, but you want to sort of go >> Did you see the the the link or the the message on the screen? Did you read the title of the live stream when you came in?
>> Yes, sir. It says I did read >> God is not good. We're debating whether or not God exists right now. Not whether or not we're debating whether or not God is good or not. We're not debating if he exists.
>> Okay?
>> So, try to try to focus up here.
>> You're an atheist and so you don't believe in God. So, saying if God is good or not is is out of the question because you you >> No, it's not out of the question. Do you think Do you think that the dementors in Harry Potter were good?
>> You would have you would have to believe in God to >> do you think that the dementors in Harry Potter were good?
Wow. Uh, I don't know how that correlates to anything. If you if >> it does, try to pay attention. Rer, do you think that the dementors in the Harry Potter story Harry Potter Harry Potter story were good? Yes or no?
>> No.
>> Okay. You don't need to believe a story is true to believe that the characters are either good or bad. So, me not believing in your sky fairy has nothing to do with whether or not I can say that your god is good. So, we'll try this from the beginning. How could one conclude that your God is good.
>> Um to give you proof that God Yeah.
Okay. Um I believe in Jesus, by the way.
I just want to say that believing in Jesus, Jesus in Hebrews 8:16-13.
>> No one cares. We want to hear the argument for why you believe God is a covenant and declares that the old one is obsolete. So we must >> they can't stop themselves from preaching.
>> Uh we're not asking about the covenant.
We're asking how do you know how could one come to the conclusion that God is good?
>> Okay. Um for thankful of your gift of life is really important. For thankful that of the free will that you have is another importance. Um we love because God because God once loved us and Jesus's sacrifice is the ultimate love. Um >> are you reciting a script or praying?
What's happening right now?
>> No, I'm just literally talking to you. I think you're very closeminded and it's hard to have a discussion with you and so I'm looking away to speak into my mind. Um, I was I haven't been born into this faith, but I've definitely found it through scrutiny. Um, giving you one word proof is like saying E= MC². So now you >> I didn't ask for one fractal cosmology and quantum physics. Yeah, but you're asking for just like one little God is good comprehension.
>> I didn't say one anything. I'm just asking you how does anyone come to the conclusion that God is good >> through soulsearching through looking out and looking into this world and believing that you you feel united with this world and looking into uh scriptures. Like I say, you must look into the New Testament if you believe in Christianity.
>> That's amazing. That's great. Jesus the God of the Old Testament.
>> Um Jesus is part of God. God is is outside of spaceime and energy. So he's outside of our comprehension. He's not in the sky that says you must worship me mortal or perish. Jesus is God. Yes.
Jesus.
>> Awesome. So in the Old Testament when God did stuff, we can say that Jesus did stuff.
>> No. Because Jesus >> Oh, Jesus not God. Testament.
>> No, Jesus is God. I understand.
>> Was Jesus not God?
>> In the Old.
>> So in the Old Testament, Jesus wasn't God. Then >> um in the Old Testament, Jesus doesn't exist.
>> Okay. So he was created >> comes to fulfill all of the prophets of the Old Testament to bring >> Well, he certainly didn't fulfill a single prophecy, not even one.
>> The Old Testament testament is obsolete in the Old Testament. Listen, Rupert.
Ruper, just just pay attention. No, just stop. Stop. Stop. No. Stop it, Robert.
Stop. You don't interrupt people.
>> Stop. Now you're muted, Rupert. You're not here to preach. No one No one cares about your preaching.
You listen, you can laugh all you want while no one can hear you. No one's here for preaching. We know the story. We know the gospel. We've read the Bible.
We know it better than you do. That's why we're having this discussion right now. You don't have to come here and preach us the gospel. It's useless. What you're here for is to have dialogue on a very specific subject.
So, every time you preach, I'm going to cut you off. No one gives a [ __ ] about your preaching.
Can you actually follow a dialogue without reverting to preach mode? Yes or no?
>> Yeah, I hope so. We can keep this close-minded conversation going if you wish. I won't preach.
>> It's not closed-minded. I'm not interested in your preaching. I've already heard it.
>> We don't need it.
>> We don't care. It's not good.
>> I was I was a pastor for over a decade.
I was a Christian for 20 years. I went to Bible college and seminary. I can promise there's not a word that's going to leave your mouth that's going to change my life. So, for 5 seconds, pretend that preaching is useless here and engage in actual dialogue on the topic. That's what we're here for. No one's here for preaching. If I want to hear preaching, I'll go to church on Sunday.
>> Well, that's okay. All right.
>> Yeah, I know. Yeah, it blows your mind that some people don't want to hear your preaching. Get used to it. Okay. So, back. Do you even know what we were talking about? Do you even remember?
>> You want to know whether God is good or not, but you don't believe in God. So, >> and so I asked you >> whatever I whatever I say, you're going to revert back to some atheism. So, it's >> I'm going to revert back to the topic.
>> It's not about atheism.
>> The conversation is rendered obsotheism.
>> No, I'm not. No, I know it's not about athe bloody hell. I know it's not about atheism. My good sir, but you got to have an actual >> This is about whether or not the Christian God is good. And so we're having hopefully we're going to have a discussion about whether or not the Christian God is good. There's nothing to do with whether or not you should be an atheist or whether or not I should be a Christian. This is not what we're having a discussion about right now. So let me ask you an easy question. Do you think it's ever good to own slaves?
>> You need to look into the New Testament here on the >> I have I've read all of it. So try this again. The answer to the question is like yes, no or maybe.
>> We can have the slave conversation.
That's absolutely fine. Um slaves back in that day was completely different idea to the way it is today. There was a lot of people that didn't have any money and slave masters through the Bible were told to appreciate their slaves. And there was laws that were in common place where if this where if the masters um uh was was horrible to their slaves, then the slaves would be freed. And if the slaves owed people money, so before they were slaves, if they owed the emperor's money, instead of owing the money, they can go and do work for them for six or seven years and then be completely free.
Today, the whole idea of slave trade has been completely changed.
>> Sure. You want to read the verse on the screen for me? I assume you've never read it.
>> Um, sorry, my my eyesight's not the best. Could you read it out for me? I'll really appreciate that. says, "As for the male and female slaves you may have, it's from the nations around you that you may acquire male and female slaves.
You may also acquire them from among the aliens residing with you and from their families who are with you who have been born in your land. They may be your property. You may keep them as a possession for your children after you for them to inherit as property. You may treat them as slaves, but as for your fellow Israelites, no one shall rule over the other with harshness." So if you took a foreigner as a slave, they were a slave forever. And if they had children, they would be your slaves. And if you died, they would be passed down to your children. This is called slavery. When you own a human being as property. So these people don't get to go free in the seventh year. That's only for male Hebrews according to Exodus chapter 21.
>> So was this good or bad?
>> From what you've just told me, um, that's bad. I'm not going to give you my my personal preference that I think that's good from what the information you've told me. I I I I don't agree with that. I think we may be taking this out of context.
>> What's the context?
>> Well, I don't I I'm just I'm really sorry, but I you read the Bible more than I have, and it seems that you've got so much more information, and I really appreciate that. Um, but from if you were to ask me this straight up whether you think slaves are good or bad, then I I think that's a they're not good.
>> Um, >> then why did God tell him you can have slaves?
>> So, I've personally had trouble with this being a Christian. And so with my with my own kind of research and things um I've sort of come it my research gave me different scriptures and different parts of the Bible um which said different things about about slaves and about owning them and about um God giving masters and slaves like uh uh a different kind of scripture to to go by.
Um, yeah, I I understand why why that why that's conflicting for you and a lot of people. I completely get that. I really do. Um, I just want to say as well that I I'm not going to spend my time like giving you some some false information that I don't know about. I haven't like read the Bible in full context to be able to start regurgitating parts of it to form a great argument. I think you're right completely in in um in having these these troubles about the Bible and I think it's right that anyone does and I can understand why. Um I just know that obviously we're not here to to preach. I get that. That's that's the rules of of this and you've laid that out pretty clearly. Um but through my own comprehension and understanding, I have a lot of faith just like you have faith that I'm not an AI chatbot that's talking talking to you and not a hologram. I have also the same faith in in God and in the creator of all creation. But again, I don't want to go into preaching mode. So, um I I just want to say that if we want to go into more scriptures and we want to have this kind of talk or topic, then um like I'd rather we just end it here and with all due respect, I really appreciate you. Um you know, you're built to the same pattern of skin, bones, internal organs as me. Um, there is a pattern to this universe and there is a comprehension to God. Um, but I you know so much more of the Bible than I. And so you'd win this this kind of closed argument any day of the week. And so I just want to say I appreciate you. I appreciate what you're doing. I appreciate everyone that's listening and has taken the time to listen to our conversation. Um, and I I just, yeah, I I need to scrape up on my knowledge of scripture to be able to come back and talk to you about this kind of thing. Um, and it's not something that I possess. And I don't want to stand here and and and and lie to the camera like you've had a few other people doing um or have an argument with you because I I do generally just appreciate you and your questions.
>> Fair enough. So, if that's if that's the way it's going to go, then I just want to say cheerio and thank you for the opportunity to have me on here and I wish you well. Have a great Christmas.
And you got a really cute cat. I lost my cat recently and um >> I hate to hear that. I'm sorry.
>> Yeah, cats are amazing, right? They're like they always pick us, you know, like dogs are always there at our feet, but cats is more of a personal kind of relationship. So, um yeah, I hope you have a great Christmas and again, thank you so much. Um, and all respect to you.
>> Have a good one, Robert. Cheers.
>> [ __ ] Bye-bye. Bye.
>> He didn't realize you were reading from your special atheist Bible. You're doing your atheisms.
>> Actually, you know what? Um, I've had people say that to me that I'm reading from the atheist Bible.
That cracks me up.
>> I didn't know we had our own Bible.
Someone should have told me sooner.
>> I know. But we're getting a Doug Bible kind of put together over there on that Discord, huh?
>> I know. I'm excited.
