Woher komme ich wirklich?

[00:00:18]Apparently, I have an American accent when I speak English. Um, but I'm actually from Germany.

[00:00:28]I also live in Germany and I was born here.

[00:00:33]Um, I haven't lived here for very long.

[00:00:38]Yeah, that's me. I am Gidy. If you've stumbled upon my channel, then you like, love, or have some interest in classical music, and that's why you're here.

[00:00:53]Most of you actually come from Germany, because sometimes I read the comments, and everything is written in English, and then at the end it says: "Greetings from Germany". And I'm thinking, yeah, I'm here too, right? I am here too, but yes, a little bit about myself, about my past. So, as I said, I was born here.

[00:01:18]At age 7, I moved to Gana to live with my grandma, grandma, and uncle. Uh, my mom was still here and yes, I lived there until I was about 15 and then I came back to Germany. Um, of course, when I was here I spoke the language, but you forget it when you're in Ghana, because in Ghana we only speak, uh, Tree, so that's our local language, and then English. That's why I had no one with whom I could speak German, so I completely forgot how.

[00:02:02]So. Uh, I was back again, had to learn the language again, there were many in the preparatory class who also didn't come from Germany and who also learned the language completely from the beginning, and at some point I came to a real class again. That's why, yes, that's what I did.

[00:02:22]Um, I then got my secondary school leaving certificate, then my intermediate school leaving certificate, and then um upper secondary school [ahem] I then got my university entrance qualification and um yeah, that's my story. So, I've been alive since when did I come back? I do n't remember my name, but anyway, um, I'm also from Hamburg and um, yeah, I'm currently recording some videos and I just randomly thought I'd make a video about it and I'm really curious to see how it will look in the comments below.

[00:03:04]Uh, because I used to stream on Twitch and I did it all in German. But that was during the Covid era, and very late I started creating classical music content, and then I switched it to English. That's why I have a little bit of experience, but it was still a little new, I don't really know how to say it in a common way. I don't have the German word in my head right now, but that's basically it. So, I'm not from the USA, I'm not from America, I live in Germany.
