[00:00:49]So Robert Frost is the author of Mending Wall. So Robert Frost was born in 1874 and died in 1963. 1963 was one of the greatest American poets of 20th century.

[00:01:06]So this Robert, means author, is one of the greatest poet of American poets of 20th century, it seems. He was born in 1874 and he was died in 1963. Compulsory you need to remember the date of birth and date of death and where he is born.

He won Pulitzer Prize for four times and became the poet and of United States in 1958. Okay, so before getting into the this poet know, he was one of worked as a farmer and teacher and also a factory worker. He got an award for four times in US in 1958. His poems include The Road Not Taken, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy evening, Birches and Mending Wall. Mending Wall was published in 1914.

See here, Mending Wall is a thoughtful poem about two neighbors who repairs the stone wall between their farms every spring. Okay, so in every spring season Okay, two farmers will repair the stone wall whatever they are having between their farmers. So it is not in it is about the lesson related to the two neighbors. Okay, during winter nature breaks parts of the wall. Okay, in winter season what happen what will happens means it will break the walls no. So we all we all get to know means uh the students uh if you are in from village uh village uh from the village, you'll get to idea about this. In winter seasons, walls will get the cracks, everything like that. So, the frozen ground, wind, and even hunters creep gaps in it. Create gaps in it. So, what they'll do for this in this uh frozen ground, hunters what they'll do, they will create a gaps in it. Every year, the two neighbors work together to build the wall by placing the fallen stones back in their proper places. Here, these two neighbors, what they will do, no, every year, every year, they will work together to fill that gaps. Okay? Whatever the fallen stones are there on the wall, they will throw back into their proper places. As they repair the wall, the speaker begins the question whether the wall is really necessary or not. So, while continuing this lesson, the lesson started. Means, the speaker will question. They will The speaker will give a question that whether the wall is really necessary.

[00:04:58]Is that wall is necessary? Every year we are doing that much work, no? Is it necessary? It is waste of time or not?

[00:05:07]He grows apple trees, while his labor neighbor grows pine trees pineapple trees. So, one fellow will grow the apple trees, and another neighbor will grow the pine trees, okay? Since apple trees and pine trees uh trees cannot harm each other, the speaker feels there is no need of a wall between them. Here, it is like two neighbors is there my like this, okay? It is a wall between their farm, okay? So, here one person will like uh investing in the uh apple, and another person is investing in the pine. So, what the poet is saying is pineapple uh tree and apple tree, if it is combined together also it will not harm anything. Okay, why you make why to make that wall? Like that the speaker will question them. Okay, so he believes that he believes that wall create unnecessary distance between people. However, the neighbor strongly believes in tradition.

[00:06:09]He keeps repeating the saying go good fences make good neighbors. Here the speaker is saying that what is his intention is if we are keeping the wall it will create unnecessary distance between us. Okay, like that the speaker is saying. But the neighbor strongly believes in the tradition it seems. What is the tradition? If we are creating a good fences, if we are creating a good wall, we will make a good neighbors also. Why he given this statement?

[00:06:41]He never questions why the wall should exist because it was believed passed down by his father. For him the wall represents a safety, order, and respect for boundaries. Here it is not about the neighbors which it is all about his father who was just means he was questioned that when his father is passed away. So for him he represented it as a good boundaries, safety, and order. Okay.

[00:07:11]Throughout the poem the speaker compares the neighbor's tradition thinking his [clears throat] own modern and logical ideas. He believes that good people should question old customs instead of following them blindly. Nature itself seems to dislike walls which because even winter it breaks down. This suggests that nature nature encourages openness and unity rather than separation. So what at the end of the poem what they are saying means throughout the poem the speaker what they are saying means what how he is comparing means even the nature is not willing about this wall. Every time in winter season it will create a cracks, no? But instead of following your old tradition, as you are a intelligent person, you need to question.

[00:08:01]Why we are doing this work? Why we are doing these things? Why we are doing these actions? You need to question them instead of following them blindly. Okay?

[00:08:11]So, this suggests the nature encourages openness. What this will do? Nature is also suggesting the openness and also unity rather than the separation. So, that's why in every winter it is breaking that wall.

[00:08:24]In the end, the wall is repaired again.

[00:08:28]The But the speaker left wondering whether the wall is truly protected by people or simply separate them. The poem teaches that while some boundaries are necessary, people should think carefully before creating barriers, dividing relationships and communication. So, like this the author means the speaker concluded the poem like this. Okay? So, what he was saying means you need to think carefully before keeping certain boundaries, before dividing the relationships, before making the communication you need to you need to think once. Okay? So, what is the moral of the poem? What is the moral of the poem about this means the poem teaches that tradition should be questioned with a reason. If my father said, my Amma Amma said, my Thatha Ya said like that if you are following blindly means it is not working in the present technology. So, it is not good for that also. What is they are saying is you need to question before following your tradition. Healthy relationships are built on trust and understanding, not on physical boundaries. If you want to create a good healthy relationship between your neighbor, you need to have the good understanding, not a physical boundaries. If you are keeping wall in middle, you will get a good boundaries like that. Instead of don't follow that all that, okay? So, this is the moral of the lesson, okay? So, compulsory important one about the author, about the lesson two neighbors, everything you need to write it. One is apple tree, one is pine tree.
