[00:00:07]>> When I was presenting fem, the toxicness was at me. I was being catc calledled or put down or spoken over. But now people assume I'm part of it. Very bro kind of culture.

[00:00:19]>> I was really surprised cuz I was working in this retirement village and cuz they thought I was like a cis straight man who was married with a child. They treated me like that. And I would get loads and loads of praise for doing the most menial stuff like taking my daughter to school and they were like, "Oh, father of the year."

[00:00:34]>> I find that men treat me better. Call me mate, call me bro. Just kind of be a bit more friendly. I didn't get that so much when I hadn't transitioned.

[00:00:42]>> People assuming that I'm in charge. Even at restaurants, you know, people coming to me first rather than my partner. I'd never know what wine to drink. So, I'm like, "Don't ask me. I've got no clue."

[00:00:53]>> Or like cooking my wife dinner. They were shocked that I did the cooking and stuff. I'd never encountered that before. I didn't know cuz I've been in lesbian relationships my whole life.

[00:01:00]>> I was at work and a client who was a man started talking to me and my coworker who's also a man and saying jokes that were a bit misogynistic and it's like, "Oh, you know what I'm talking about."

[00:01:12]It's like, "Wow, okay." You're assuming that I agree with you. Spreading that awareness to kind of call out bad behavior and not just go, "Oh, well, boys will be boys." this kind of thing.
