The Incubation Period Problem Nobody's Talking About #Hantavirus #MedicalFactsAdded:
Symptoms of Andes virus, we're told, can appear anywhere between 4 and 42 days after exposure. That's a massive window.
Does that make that essentially just a guessing game at this point?
>> It certainly makes it more difficult to to track. And it is unclear whether it's a week or 8 weeks incubation period for the Andes virus or the Andes strain of the hantavirus in any particular individual. And that's why the officials have to be diligent, and that's why the suggested to home isolation or quarantine period is as long as it is is because it can be out to 8 weeks. So, I'd like not to call it necessarily a guessing game since we know it's somewhere in that 2-month period. But yeah, it makes it definitely more difficult than a typical or when we were dealing with COVID 6 years ago when it was 3 to 4 weeks.
