Day 5 of the FIFA World Cup is HERE! ️
Added:Football fans, welcome back. This is Muneer Al-Wafa with your day four World Cup update. Day four was full of goals and late drama. In Group E, Germany announced itself in style. They crushed World Cup debutants Curaçao 7 - 1 with Kai Havertz scoring twice and the four-time champion sending a strong message to the rest of the tournament.
The other Group E game was pure heartbreak for Ecuador. Ivory Coast stayed patient and Amad Diallo scored a stunning 90th minute winner to seal a 1 - 0 victory and three massive points for the elephants. In Group F, Netherlands versus Japan gave us one of the best games of the World Cup so far. The Dutch led twice but Japan refused to give up, equalizing each time and stealing a 2 - 2 draw thanks to a late goal from Daichi Kamada. Sweden then produced a statement performance. Their star attackers exploded in a 5 - 1 win over Tunisia with Yasin Ayari scoring twice and Isak and Gyökeres also on the scoresheet, that is should be, putting Sweden in a very strong position in Group F. Big wins for Germany and Sweden, late drama for Ivory Coast and Japan proving once again they are one of the most resilient teams in world football. [music] Now, let's quickly look ahead to day five. We have four games: Spain versus Cape Verde, Belgium versus Egypt, Uruguay versus Saudi Arabia, and Iran versus New Zealand. Based on supercomputer probabilities and expert predictions, here are my picks. Spain is a huge favorite against Cape Verde with odds of winning close to 90% I expect a controlled performance. My prediction, Spain 3 to Cape Verde 0. Belgium versus Egypt looks much tighter. The model slightly favor Belgium but many analysts see a potential upset or draw. I'll go bold and say Belgium 1 to Egypt 1.
Uruguay has a strong edge over Saudi Arabia with a 65 to 70% probability of winning. I'm going for Saudi Arabia 0 to Uruguay 2. Finally, Iran versus New Zealand is expected to be low scoring and close but with Iran as slight favorites. My prediction, Iran 1 to New Zealand zero. Those are my day five predictions. What do you think? Will the favorites dominate or are we getting another World Cup surprise? Comment your score lines and let's enjoy this journey together. This is Mounir El Wafa with love.
