Pinocchio (Read Aloud / Read Along Story)

[00:00:01]Walt Disney's Pinocchio A Golden Super Shape Book Pinocchio Once upon a time there was a lonely woodcarver named Geppetto.

[00:00:24]He made a special wooden puppet and called it Pinocchio.

[00:00:29]Geppetto wished upon a star and the Blue Fairy heard him.

[00:00:34]She magically brought Pinocchio to life.

[00:00:43]"I'm a real boy." cried Pinocchio moving his arms and legs.

[00:00:48]"Not yet, Pinocchio.

[00:00:50]First, you must be brave, truthful, and unselfish." said the Blue Fairy.

[00:00:56]"And Jiminy Cricket will help you learn right from wrong." she added.

[00:01:01]The next morning, Pinocchio set off for school.

[00:01:05]On his way, he met a sly fox and a wicked cat.

[00:01:10]"Don't waste your time in school." said the fox.

[00:01:13]"You'll have more fun if you come with us."

[00:01:21]Pinocchio went off with the fox and the cat to become an actor.

[00:01:26]They sold him to an evil puppeteer who locked him up in a cage.

[00:01:31]Just then, the Blue Fairy appeared.

[00:01:34]"Why didn't you go to school?" she asked Pinocchio.

[00:01:39]"Two monsters put me in a sack."

[00:01:41]Pinocchio lied.

[00:01:43]And because he lied, his nose grew longer.

[00:01:47]Jiminy Cricket helped him to tell the truth and Pinocchio's nose shrunk back to normal.

[00:01:53]Then the Blue Fairy set him free.

[00:02:01]This sly fox and the wicked cat caught Pinocchio again.

[00:02:06]This time they sold him to a coachman along with a bunch of bad boys.

[00:02:11]The coachman cracked his whip and they were off to Pleasure Island.

[00:02:22]On Pleasure Island, Pinocchio was lazy and naughty.

[00:02:26]All of a sudden, he grew donkey ears and a donkey tail.

[00:02:30]"Help! Now I'll have to pull the coach."

[00:02:33]brayed Pinocchio.

[00:02:35]"Quick, follow me." called Jiminy and they jumped into the sea.

[00:02:41]When Pinocchio dried out, he went home to see Geppetto.

[00:02:46]"Father, I'm home." he called. "I'll never leave again."

[00:02:52]But Geppetto was not there.

[00:02:54]The work shop was empty.

[00:03:01]Then Jiminy Cricket found a note.

[00:03:04]"Your father went to the ocean to find you and was swallowed by a whale." it read.

[00:03:10]So Pinocchio and Jiminy went to the sea to find Geppetto.

[00:03:15]Pinocchio tied a big stone to his donkey tail.

[00:03:19]Then he jumped into the water.

[00:03:22]The stone pulled him down to the sea bottom.

[00:03:25]He and Jiminy walked along and looked in every sea cave for Geppetto.

[00:03:35]Suddenly, a huge whale named Monstro came up behind them.

[00:03:41]He swallowed them up along with a whole school of fish.

[00:03:51]There, in the stomach of the whale, was Geppetto living on a wrecked old boat.

[00:03:57]"My son, I'm so happy to see you." cried Geppetto.

[00:04:02]"Me, too, father." shouted Pinocchio.

[00:04:05]"Now, let's get out of here."

[00:04:11]Pinocchio and Geppetto lit a fire.

[00:04:14]The smoke from the fire made Monstro sneeze.

[00:04:18]"Ka-choo!"

[00:04:20]Geppetto and Pinocchio rushed out of the whale's huge mouth on a raft.

[00:04:30]They were washed up on the shore.

[00:04:32]Pinocchio lay still.

[00:04:35]He did not wake up.

[00:04:37]Geppetto held the puppet in his arms.

[00:04:40]"My little wooden head was so brave and unselfish." he said, crying.

[00:04:45]"He risked his life to save me."

[00:04:54]Geppetto carried Pinocchio home and put him on the bed.

[00:04:59]A ray of starlight came through the window.

[00:05:02]The soft voice of the Blue Fairy said, "You are brave, truthful, and unselfish.

[00:05:10]Now, you may be a real boy."

[00:05:18]Pinocchio sat up.

[00:05:20]"Father!" he cried. "Look at me! Now, I'm really and truly a real boy."

[00:05:27]"And so you are." said Geppetto, hugging him tight.
