Because Hamlet spends five [music] acts wondering whether revenge is morally justified, while Lelouch gets supernatural eye powers and immediately [music] says, "All right, time to overthrow the government." Hamlet thinks, Lelouch moves. Hamlet philosophizes, Lelouch strategizes. Hamlet asks whether action is ethical. Lelouch asks whether action is efficient. And that right there is the evolution from Shakespearean prince to modern anti-hero.
