P85 wage hike not suspended — Palace

[00:00:17]The implementation of the 85 peso wage hike in the national capital region is not suspended.

[00:00:23]This was stated by Malacañang. Palace press officer Claire Castro also denied there was a request from private sector groups for the suspension or reconsideration of the wage hike order.

[00:00:51]Philippine Army General Antonio Nafarette is the new leader of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. He replaces Romeo Brawner, who has served as AFP chief for 3 [music] years.

[00:01:10]He served for nearly a year as commanding general of the Filipino Army.

[00:01:14]President Marcos condemns the aggressive actions made by the China Coast Guard against the Filipino personnel stationed at the BRP Sierra Madre.

[00:01:24]This was disclosed by Palace press officer Claire Castro. This comes after the China Coast Guard hit a Philippine Navy sailor with a wooden baton in Ayungin Shoal. Castro reiterated the Department of Foreign Affairs response to the said incident. She said that any act of violence against Filipino personnel is unacceptable and shall be responded to [music] with appropriate diplomatic action.

[00:01:49]The Department of Migrant Workers renews its call for the rerouting of vessels away from the Black Sea and other high-risk areas. The call came after two Filipino seafarers were killed and several others were wounded in a series of attacks on commercial vessels in the Black Sea.

[00:02:07]According to migrant workers secretary Hans Leo Cacdac, they have monitored an escalation of security incidents in the Black Sea amid the Russia-Ukraine war.

[00:02:17]The Black Sea has been classified as a high-risk or warlike area.

[00:02:21]Cacdac said that if vessels must continue sailing through such areas, Filipino seafarers should first be informed of the risks.
